Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
So I went ahead and got the season pass deal for Life Is Strange.

What I liked:
  • Great story and good atmosphere. My wife went to art school and, although a lot has changed in the last 20 years, I've heard a lot of her stories that playing this game feels like it's a pretty accurate representation of what it's like.
  • Excellent voice acting. Seriously, it's really very good and it's one of the things that really helped draw me into the story.
  • The location. I just so happen to live on the Oregon Coast, so the scenery here really struck a chord with me. We've got lighthouses and rocky beaches and just about everything else that's featured here, so that was pretty cool.
  • The game mechanics make this game pretty easy.
You can rewind time whenever you like, so
even though things are sometimes on a timer, it's impossible to miss anything if you're paying enough attention.
  • Graphically the game is very nice and ran at 60FPS/1080p (except during the pre-rendered cut scenes which were 30FPS argh!) with no lag or stutter at all, even on my 2 year old graphics card.
  • While I'm not really a huge fan of the genre of music that is prevalent in this game, I thought it was really well done and I felt the music added a lot to the game's atmosphere.
What I didn't like:
  • The mouth animations really bugged me. I guess modern games have really spoiled me, but this had some of the worst mouth animations I'd ever experienced. Which is a shame, because the voice acting was so good. Seriously though, I've seen better mouth animations on a PS2 game.
  • It seems like this game also suffers from Telltale-itis in that the choices you make don't really seem to matter much beyond changing some of the dialog. I hope they explore and expand on this a lot for episode 2 and beyond.
  • One of the "find this thing" puzzles was frustrating to the point I'd almost call it a pixel hunt. Luckily I only experienced this once in the entirety of the first episode.
Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase and I think this is already an awesome game despite the story being incomplete. The first chapter took me 2.1 hours to complete.

GTAV moves to the second pre-purchase phase today, so if you don't yet have San Andreas (which I presume is going to be the first incentive to go) and are particularly interested in V, best buy it now.

I finished it and it was...okay.

The humor was hit or miss. I enjoyed some of the jokes enough to finish the game, but it's totally skippable too if it doesn't look great to you.

I am also full of rum.

yeah it got a few chuckles out of me and it was very much full of style but most of the humor fell flat for me

what's the difference between Tier 1 and Tier 2?

Less stuff in the latter. My guess is:

- Tier 1: San Andreas, bonus cash and base pre-purchase offer (obviously)
- Tier 2: Bonus cash and base pre-purchase offer
- Tier 3: Base pre-purchase offer

Dusk Golem

A 21st Century Rockefeller

what the actual fuck?!? O_O

Gas Guzzlers is actually a fucking awesome racing/destruction game, the zombie mode was announced a while ago and been in the game as the campaign mode has had zombies banging on the warehouse for a while.

Game has some stupidly fun battle modes for a racing game.

Also, I also played Life is Strange, as well as Forward to the Sky.

Life is Strange Episode 1 was enjoyable for me, I spent a lot of time doing everything, voer 5 hours in episode 1. XD; As an Oregonian, it looked like Oregon, so that's good. I won't say too much more as I feel everything that could be said has been said, I liked the Twin Peaks vibes in some places and it reminded me of Alan Wake for a few reasons, is something I'll throw out there.

Forward to the Sky was short, but enjoyable. The acting was kind of eh, and the story was predictable, but it was a cute little game with some platforming and platform-puzzling in places. Got 100% in my first run (all achievements) and took about two hours. I will say the style was great, the game added new things every level (six levels), and the music was pretty good.

Did you ever forget that you backed or bought something? I just looked at the recent Eve no Jikan update where they showcased an amazing fan artbook and I was like "damn, I wish I had seen that, hope I can buy it for a reasonable price later". Then I looked into it and saw that I actually backed that tier. Now I feel dumb.

What was the frustrating puzzle? I never encountered such a thing.

I can think of one that quite annoyed me involving a can of paint, don't know if that is the one jshackles is talking about though.

I'll also throw my hat in the ring and say I also really enjoyed Life is Strange :)

New Just Cause 3 screens are colorful :D

<snip>

The only news I need to hear is that you can actually hit 100% completion. I had to settle for 98.something% in Just Cause 2, even after I modded in the missing stuff.

Also, scans are a no-no, so I'd remove the link.

Okay, after promising to not purchase anything in 2015 until summer sale, and breaking that with Grim Fandango and Nep-Nep, I shall renew my promise again for Summer sale. I have car repair/registration/visa renewal shit coming up and I really need to save up for that shit.

That is why I didn't linked images directly. If that still counts as breaking rules I will remove link :D
