PuzzleQuest: Challenge of the Warlords - This game is insanely good if you haven't already played it. Skip the sequel, Galatrix, and the Marvel version (unless you enjoy microtransactions!) this is probably the best puzzle/RPG hybrid that's ever been made.
I have to agree, although I never finished the story I've put hundreds of hours into it. Has a worthy successor really not been made? I'd be interested in another game like it.

Not a mod, just a bot.
This is a scheduled automated repost on behalf of The_Super_Inframan, who is running this raffle.

Mmmm, today was a bad and a good day. Got my Patreon all reset, blog's ready and waiting, had a tasty donut, didn't get a ticket despite them ticketing the parking lot, health issues acting up huge and I'm in crazy amounts of pain, linked some more people to that pitch doc I had for a game I'll never get to make these days 'cause I can't make it alone.

And I'm STILL playing Dying Light, which is fabulous.

5 mind numbing hours and lots of hair pulling for 18 seconds worth of video. Hardly seems worth it but still it's been educational and I've now got a super slow mo capture & repurpose workflow and pipeline sorted out (well maybe when I cough up for the non free version of Dxtory). Then again deleting 2000+ frames of animation by hand is just a pain in the arse.

http://a.pomf.se/pdlxdl.webm

Also webm's are some dark magic. This came out as a 600mb avi file and even with some Photoshop trickery a 9mb gif. As a webm, no compromise in image size, only a little in quality and just a smidge over 4.5mb.

k back from a videogames museum thingie i visited. was pretty fun, got to play mario 1 on a giant nes controller and got to play the original xbox for the first time and find out it has no shoulder buttons for some reason. i meant to at least try the ps4 and xbones and wiius but too long of a line to try those out, which are super rare in argieland atm.

anyways, now that i have some time, imma talk a bit about always sometimes monsters since i think ppl really should give it a chance

It's just a odd situation to thrust on a player and hope they get involved with. I would probably give it a try, but I remember someone saying you need to buy a lot of pizza to stay alive or something. Really cloudy memory about it.
i reply to you again, just to write a bit more directed at you

yeah, it's an odd situation and the game's pretty open about that. you're broke, so why would you risk what little you have to go to your ex's wedding? well, the game here does two things. first, there's some mystery regarding why you're invited in the first place, since i don't think i'd invite many exes to my wedding. a big part of the game is figuring out why.

second and more importantly, the game has a lot of small dialogue choices for you to make that shape the relationship you had with your ex so you can make it make sense. so you get flashbacks of when you were together and you can then choose how was your relationship with him/her, how did it end and why, etc. there's a decent amount of room to make yourself be petty, or insecure, or needy, or whatever. and your ex can be like that too.

so after you spend some time decisioning, you'll give your character a reason. maybe your character just needs to know why they were invited, or wants to win their ex back, or needs some closure or whatever.

i really really like it because it really let me put myself in that spot and honestly answer how i would answer and it reacted in ways i always felt were appropriate and ways i could relate to based on my experiences. i also liked that it wasn't overly depressing or melodramatic (tho it has its share of both) and that it allowed itself to have humor and a kickass super upbeat soundtrack. i think it's a great game, i'm sad that i didn't manage to convey that on my blog thing :/

also to reiterate, the "survival" aspect of the game is barely an issue and just like everything else it's mostly there to help you roleplay. you can sleep on the streets and eat out of the garbage or eat raw food or not eat at all. you're not gonna be seeing a game over screen every hour or whatever, the survival thing is just there so there's a "looming threat" over your head and one thing to worry about and roleplay. it leads to interesting moments and decisions, but it's not dayz or anything lol

so yeah, for $2.50, trust me, you should really give it a shot. worst case scenario the story just isn't your thing

No, and even though I did recommend it just no. save that money for a better game. Also they probably finally added wasd movement By noW.
https://steamcommunity.com/id/mokoi/recommended/274310/
yes, i just tried it end and you can use wasd or arrow keys if you want. iirc i played it with a controller but i don't have one on me to try it out

other than that update your review is fine, it's a game about roleplaying a pretty shitty situation in someone's life, if that sounds interesting to you, then you should play it. i think you can do way worse for 2.50, and for 60 dollars too.

To be honest with you I don't think the game is worth it at any price. Worst game I played last year. Story didn't click with me at all and it has the usual RPGMaker game problems.
what are the usual rpgmaker game problems? there are some annoyances like rpgmaker mapping f12 to reset game is pretty bad since it's the same key as steam's default "take screenshot" or not having overlay support, but that's hardly the game's fault, specially considering how cheap it is selling for

the story not clicking with you is fair but you seem really harsh without giving much of a reason.

2.5$ is a geat price for ASM
yup, for that price, give it a shot if you're midly interested in it.

if you liked stuff like to the moon or gone home or cart life it should be right up your alley

Oniken is on sale this week ( 80% off = $1.59 ) , the game is great , i would recommend it to people that enjoyed ninja gaiden on the NES since this game is really similar
i thought you had said omikron and i was like similar to ninja gaiden wtf??

Tried that Hotline Miami number.

Weird voice told me they march into march.
cool, since if my plans work out i'll be rich by then!

Well, the folks in the scam business at least know their prey well.

i got one of those today. i accepted the friend request but as soon as i got the msg with th fake steam community link I reported it and blocked all communications. That was my first scam add guys! I must be getting pretty cool on steam.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I have to agree, although I never finished the story I've put hundreds of hours into it. Has a worthy successor really not been made? I'd be interested in another game like it.

I've not yet found a worthy successor. I liked the sequel alright, but it didn't really capture the magic of the original. Marvel Puzzle Quest is a joke and (in my opinion) should have never been made. Nothing I've played (Puzzle Quest or otherwise) since the original Puzzle Quest has quite captured the same spirit.

Like others here, I'd love a suggestion that could help change my stance on this.

I remember buying PQ2 thinking "oh man gotta be as good as the first!". How very very wrong I was. Game was straight garbitch.

Ive been getting lots of people requesting me. Im famous. :3

I-I-I'VE ALSO BEEN GETTING A LOT OF ADDS!! in fact I've been getting so many adds i don't even know what to do with them anymore. it eats up so much time of my day....

I don't get a lot of adds :(

I get lots of 0s and 1. This week has been like 17 to be exact. Only had 2 with the Gaben Christ picture.

Here are some of the puzzle games I've played recently on Steam and a short blurb of recommendation:

Season Match - This is a cross between Collapse and Jewel Quest. It gets pretty repetitive after a while but I really enjoyed it. Includes Steam Trading Cards and achievements, which is a nice bonus.

The Treasures of Montezuma 4 - A "match 3" game with a slight twist in that you can unlock and level up various Totem Powers which can give you an advantage on the board. Also with trading cards and achievements!

PuzzleQuest: Challenge of the Warlords - This game is insanely good if you haven't already played it. Skip the sequel, Galatrix, and the Marvel version (unless you enjoy microtransactions!) this is probably the best puzzle/RPG hybrid that's ever been made.

Jewel Quest Pack - I mentioned Jewel Quest earlier because it's also great. The "Jewel Quest Pack" on Steam actually includes 4 games (+4!): Jewel Quest 1, 2, 3, and Mysteries. Somewhat old but still fantastic games.

Also be sure and brace yourself - a lot of people here are going to recommend HuniePop...
Thanks for the awesome recommendations. I wishlisted all of them. LOL at HuniePop.

i usually get one or two bots add me every month and i just accept them so i get "evidence" to report them

i also like learning new ways to misspell steamcommunity.com

made it to Anor Londo in Dark Souls and found out I haven't put a single point into Vitality.

Guess that's a good thing?
to be perfectly honest that's not a huge accomplishment :p

i suggest you do put a few points into vit since the extra health is really nice

the only other game that melds rpg and puzzle action as well as puzzle quest is might and magic clash of heroes.

I found that game to be far more rewarding anyway due to the lack of random chance bs that was in puzzle quest also.

No joke the dating stuff whatever is pretty shit (aside from the opening dialogs). But the matching gameplay is pretty fun. If it's ever cheap enough for you I'd get it.

I like the dialogue. its silly. although that hunger meter tho. anyone know of a mod to remove that shit. bitches constantly need to be fed, what makes it worst is the damn store don't restock till the next day.

You have helped put the game in the interesting pile. While I won't buy it now since I can't even play it (shame there's no iOS version). I'll be keeping my eye on it.

Thanks to Tizoc I've been playing Pix the Cat.

So far I really like it. I was really interested in playing this because it seemed like it might scratch the same itch as Pac-Man CE DX which I loved. It does, but it's much harder. Where as Pac-Man was pretty easy and fairly mellow, Pix the Cat has a lot more going on to think about. It looks simple, but speeding along while trying to figure out your route and keeping your speed and combo up gets quite tricky. It's great.

Oh dang, new bundles today. Time to add more to the backlog.

Found some of my backlog from 2010 and it's worth like $300 now (they're all sealed). o_O

Is there a good mod guide for Freespace 1/2? Want to put my warthog to work. Remember my dad playing the series back in the day but somehow I managed to avoid them!

thanks for reading!

and totally you shouldn't buy it if you're not gonna play it now, it's gonna be as cheap on most sales i'm sure

it's not a perfect game, but it's one i liked lots. i found the caveats to be mostly easy to overlook. some parts of it aren't much fun (there's some "grindy" part-time job taking that's super boring but literally lasts like 5 minutes and i only did it once) and there's a ridiculous grinding requirement for "best ending" which imo the idea of "best ending" is flawed from the get go as any other than my "average ending" would've felt cheap.

it was my 2014's gone home/hate plus, i loved it and i feel it's a pretty underrated game all things considered.

hopefully someone will someday play it and agree lol

fucking tao pai pai and his dick punches dropping me to lvl1 in god hand.

this should be the next game to play on your list zkylon, it's so much fun.
i can't play skill based games, i'm too much of a dork

Sweet, finally Oddworld New 'n Tasty. One of the games I've been looking forward to the most.

The Neptunia Additional Content 1 is 50% off now as well by the way.

anyone else played brawlhalla? was really looking forward to it but after playing the beta im like fuck it. its boring imo, the physics isn't even the issue for me as the dev could change that if enough people take issue with it(im assuming), my beef is that it don't matter who you pick, they all have the same moves, they even all share the same 1 taunt. thats really boring.

First, download Freespace Open. You will need to have Freespace 2 already installed to get it working.

Once you are done, go to Hard-Light website and start clicking on things :p

The modding section on Hard-Light wiki (right side) can be helpful to know what is each thing, although seems a bit outdated. The forums are a good source too, as there are subforums with details for everything.

The graphic update can be found here.

Looks like a fun game to mess around with. :)
