How odd, mine doesn't click at all. The top edge is a bit bent though. I assume due to the material it has to be soft.

You would be surprised that it is the opposite. Finger print smudges rarely happen. You can also wash it with water.

Just reserved my black XL for in-store pickup at the local Best Buy. Going to pop in on my lunch break, then try to keep my mind off of it until the end of the workday.
Still wish we were getting the standard edition N3DS in the states. That Kirby faceplate is adorable.

Yeah, I got the same email from Amazon France about my N3DS XL order. Apparently they are facing "supply problems" and will ship next week.

Mine is ok but be sure to clicks it properly. I don't know how to explain but mine wasn't really stable
before last 3DS update... lol j/k
I just think I'll buy another one just to be sure because since it's my most used it's going to be a little bit dirty in a few months :/

Not that much but I have a Nintendo Club pouch for transport and I don't eat or put Doritos hands on it. I've been using it since Australian 3DS release (well week after since I've imported) and mine is still looking good.
I have both the felt and wooden cover plate and I noticed that these are both a bit tricky to apply. They seem overly tight, and attaching them requires some force. It's a bit scary :/. Also when I attach the bottom felt plate, I can't tighten the screws, they just keep rotating around without tightening. And the bottom wooden plate creaks when I lightly push against it. .Yeah, I'm comparing N3DS to XL but the screen seems brighter and with better colours and contrast. Both of these were at Brightness 4 with power saving off:
It might be hard to see but the XL is a bit washed out. Also the N3DS seems to be cooler temperature to me, although my XL seemed to be cooler than most anyway.
Whilst I was doing that comparison I noticed that the sound is not only a lot louder in the N3DS but also a lot clearer. The only thing I think is worse is the stylus, it's alright to use but a pain to put back in.
Last, my cover plates from my bundle just arrived! I've only switched the top/front plate but it's looking pretty classy(white on black looks good):

About to head to Best Buy to wait outside until they open in an hour. Hopefully I'm the only one there!
Yay! I got a MM N3DS form Target this Morning! All of the stores in my area received 5 of them.
I decided to go line up at one of teh smaller/older store in my area. I arrived at 7AM and there were 3 people in line, one of which was a uniformed police officer who was waiting in line before his shift started. 7:10 the 5th and 6th person showed up in line. Geek conversation was had and everyone was very nice. Everyone knew the store had 5 MM units so as others showed up we all told them nicely that the store reportedly had MM 5 units. Some stayed, most people left. The cop seemed to be a great deterrent for douchebaggery.
The store manager showed up at 7:30 and seemed to already know the cop, who asked the manager if tickets would be handed out. He said "no" but he would take care of everything. More geek conversation continued. 4 more people showed up just before the store opened. Again we all told them about the supply on MM units at which point a young couple gave no response and waited in line with us. Another person was happy with any model and also waited. The store opened at 8AM and everyone started to walk in civilly. Of course there is always someone in the crowd and the the young man of the couple start to speed walk to electronics and beat everyone to the punch, much to his girlfriend's immediate dislike but then she quickly sped up to electronics. Everyone who was in the initial group was nice enough to tell the manager who was in line first and the manager was nice enough to ensure the first people got the MM version.
Big thanks to the officer for helping to keep everything civil, to the Target manager for doing the right thing. And a big FUCK YOU to the couple who, seemingly, acted like complete jerks and tried to fuck everyone over who waited in line for an hour or more.

Yeah, screw that. I'm just going to try to get one in-store today (just standard black, no MM) if I can and return the other one (or try to cancel if they let me). No more preordering from Best Buy!
At least Amazon delivered on my MM 3D LE and I'm getting it today.
Woke up this morning to my preorder for my Black N3DS sitting in preparing still like many others. Sent a very angry email because paying for $18 shipping and being treated like this is bull crap. I can order one straight to store or on their website and have it shipped out faster than my own preorder maybe shipped. This is the last time I do any preorders with them online.

AAARGH i forgot my 0.0 screwdriver for my GameStop trade in, and I remembered while lying in bed last night but I was too lazy to get up and go put it in my laptop bag where I already had everything else.
I plan on doing my transfer in store since I prepped my MicroSD card last night and it is currently in my old 3DS in an adapter card. GameStop surely should have one no???

It came as a nice little surprise to me, hadn't heard anyone mentioning the difference in the screens. It's just a lot nicer to use. The speakers are significantly better for sure, much louder and clearer. Super happy with my N3DS.
Wow. I called Target last night they told me they would have "some" systems today. I go there at 7:30 and a guy was sitting outside in a chair, in shorts (it's 17 here right now!)- with a space heater in front of him. hard fucking CORE wow. I wait til 745 and walk out as the manager has come out he asks if we are here for the Zelda 3ds. we say yes - he says they got 2. and we get them. 2 more ppl walk up while manager is still talking and storm off pissed. we go in at 8 and buy the system at the customer service desk. more ppl are coming in and RUNNING towards electronics. I cannot believe I am holding the majoras mask new 3ds in my hands!!!!!!!!! best. day. EVER!

Yep, I'm definitely not crazy. My second Zelda 3DS XL came in and this one has a perfect slide pad AND the screen doesn't slide like crazy. It still moves if I push it so there's still a gap, but it won't make audible "tick" noises when I tilt it. Guess I'll return the other one.

I have the ALBW XL as well. I'm upgrading but only because I was able to snag the MM New XL. I'm selling my ALBW XL to a friend that is a huge Zelda fan.
