Your non-spoilerific impressions will be quite welcomed.

It's exactly what you'd expect, really. I played a section on Westminster Bridge which the demo guys said had been shown quite extensively. The first thing I noticed (apart from the fact that the graphics totally live up to the hype even in person) is that the guns feel incredibly powerful, both in the fact that they can put an enemy down quickly and just how they feel - loud and with a lot of kick. The other demo was the more recent one, on the airship, which was a lot more intense thanks to the close quarters combat.

One criticism, and it's a relatively minor one, is that there were a couple heavy-duty shotgunners amongst the standard enemies. They just felt a little cheesy to be honest. Like, one of the weapons I was using was a massive electricity shotgun, but it still took a couple headshots to take down these bigger guys (despite them wearing metal helmets as well). They were really difficult basically, and not in a fun way. I wasn't totally pissed off playing them, but it kinda undermined the really good cover-based gunplay with the standard enemies when there's this unstoppable behemoth strolling his way to you (and then killing you in two shots). Who knows, maybe it'll feel better once I've had more time with the game.

I just typed all that up quite quickly, sorry if it doesn't make much sense.

On a a scale of soul patch to mutton chops, how would you rate the game in terms of awesomeness?

We're talking Peter Dinklage levels of beard - bold but suave.

OK so i started the game, i must say that i am shocked how much the black bars annoy me. Its hard to explain, but maybe it will grow on me because its the first time i play a game like this.

The graphics are indeed good, but i can't seem to shake how much i am underwhelmed by those black bars. :/

I have this strange desire in my mind "please let the cutscene end so the black bars will go away".... but i know they won't.

need to give it time.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.

I think you will adapt to them. It bugged me in The Evil Within at first but after a while I forgot about them.

Same went for playing Resident Evil in 4:3 mode.

I'm not used to them in games, but I'm sure I'll adapt like I did when I first started watching wide screen movies and believed I wasn't going to be able to get over it.

So, anyone else worried that there won't be too much gun combat variety due to the restriction of only being allowed to carry one gun from each category? Like TLOU, I'd like to carry all the weapons that are availabe and have the ability to decide what gun to use at what section.

I'm not too worried about it, someone mentioned in an earlier post that you can constantly switch up guns by picking up ones that are laying around and dropped by enemies.

Should be varied enough

I doubt it. Two weapon limit is pretty standard and we've seen quite a few weapons already. I'm sure there are more as well.

Yeah, I think the enemies will drop your standard guns but if I want to use the thermal rifle and then switch that to the arc gun, will I be able to do that?
My other concern is certain chapters might become gun specific.

I've watched a ton of The Order videos and not felt bothered by black bars at all. So yeah, they definitely aren't a big deal for me :D

Funny thing: I played three chapters of Evil Within without noticing the black bars, then I saw a trailer with them and thought "gee, must be annoying playing with those on"... then I went to check the game and voil la, black bars were there "oh... ok".

They are both awesome, and pretty funny.
They made a few jokes about the black bars, that were just hilarious.

It was the first time for me meeting someone that makes games, and it really puts things into perspective.
They obviously know about Gaf and how restrictive registering the forum is and etc.

The presentation was pretty simple, they talked a lot and answered questions. Played 4 different levels and watched Andrea playing something that hasn't been scene before.

...and the game is awesome.

P.S.: Andrea is massive. Ru is pretty awesome and very funny. They are both really, really passionate about games and this project.
P.S.2: Andrea refered to himself as "...us Geeks.." at some point, while replying to a question by a guy that prolly was the size of his arm alone. Was pretty awesome.

People playing the game early

People meeting RAD

Me stuck at work eating my crappy overpriced cafeteria lunch

Me, trapped at home due to an eye surgery, no electricity whatsoever, checking GAF with what little battery I've got on the iPad and crappy 3G, with sunglasses on and one eye constantly closed.
Oh, and no food (which is actually not bad because things in the fridge would be rotting by now).

It can get worse, dude.

(Oh, and thanks the other day for giving me some info I asked =] )

Damn man, hope you have a speedy recovery! The good news is the game isn't out for a week so there is still time :)

It's been smooth so far!
I'll probably be able to play it around launch =D
The hardest thing of eye surgery is being on medical leave but not being able to play games ><
Thanks for the kind words though!
