Honestly, these things will probably sell for the prices of gold at the rate everyone is talking about them. Jeezus.

I'm honestly happy this is a Wal-Mart exclusive. Means I can camp out there for half an hour before launch at my 24 hour location and be set!

Anyone know when this will release? This is the only Amiibo I ever want or need. Mario 64 was my very first game back in the 90's. It would be an for nostalgia reasons keeping this Amiibo as something I own. And a piece of history for myself. To remind me that I started with Nintendo.

I don't understand the allure. A one-tone amiibo sounds so lame. I've always found gold/silver characters to be SUCH a cop-out for unlockable characters.

I can't believe that cop-out bled over into amiibos.

I remember when I was trying to buy an eShop card from Walmart a few weeks ago and they had like an 85 year-old man working in the electronics section who didn't know how to scan the bar code. Thank you Jesus for blessing me with self control. I literally expect somebody to die over this. Just imagine a bunch of neckbeards swarming the night shift employees at 12:00 a.m., asking where the Gold Mario amiibos are. You think the scalping is bad now? Just wait.

At least this is one Amiibo that won't have paint errors.

I got my one amiibo and I am out of that game. I'm not even getting the Lucina I wanted. Nintendo just fucked up the execution so hard it isn't worth it.

A limited edition Toy is limited and being sold at select few retailers. I honestly don't understand why people are upset by this. Limited items are by definition supposed to be hard to get. There's still a regular version of this same Amiibo coming out and being that it's Mario, the regular version should be easy to get *shrug*

It's called entitlement.

It's one thing to do this worldwide and it is another to do it specifically in one region only.
Also not liking stupid practices is entitlement, sure!

While it can be a pain because once one store is sold out thats pretty much it. Good luck finding a Rosalina in the states. At least non exclusive ones give you another chance at other retailers so you're pretty much stuck importing. Anyways even after that it doesn't entirely bug me but what does bother me is that its walmart. A chain that is notorious for being a gigantic unorganized mess. All my walmart amiibos are still locked up behind glass where they store systems. People were finding WFT/marth/villager at walmart a month after release because they never put them out until then. And I can't entirely blame the employees because their problems are at an executive level.

Because the US is the only country doing this shit...
Yep. In EU and Japan you can get any Amiibo right now. Wave 4 is open.
NA going to get Best Buy, K-Mart, Walmart, Target, TRU, Gamestop, Radio Shack, Blockbuster, Fry's, and some other store to get all of them.
It has gotten insane at this point.
Plus many Amiibo never hit retail at all like Pit and Little Mac. There is limited edition and then there is finding a leprechaun riding a unicorn.

The only good thing about this is that I don't give a crap about Mario as an amiibo in any form so I don't have to fret over anything.

Eh it doesn't really matter whose exclusive it is at this point, they might as well just sell directly to the scalpers at wholesale rates. No one is getting one of these from Walmart, let's not kid ourselves.

Nintendo probably had exclusive deals lined up for months in advance with retailers. Plus, for the sake of retailer relationships, you wouldn't want to segregate anyone. It becomes a "me too" thing. All of Wal-Mart's competitors received exclusives, so it only makes sense that they, too, would want and expect the same.

Either way, I don't see the issue with it. It's no different than other limited edition items. Some will get it, some won't. Just have to hope you're one of the lucky ones ;)

Is this US only? It's going to be wacky if there are region-exclusive amiibos. Can't wait for Japan to get Yokai Watch amiibos this year.
