Some actresses actively avoid doing IR because they risk losing some of their marketability. Honestly, you get similar reactions in regards to Hollywood actors/actresses (though not to the same degree)
People have weird hang ups when it comes to IR.

The losing marketability thing is bullshit, and has been bullshit for at least a decade now. There's been literally 1 female performer who has won the top award in porn that hadn't/hasn't done it in the past 12 years.
As obsessive as people get over pornstars buying them thousand dollar gifts off wish lists etc. Being a Male pornstar probably gets a huge share of hatemail

I was expecting something along the lines of the jimmy kimmil thing, but this was alot more serious, there were a few jimmy k mail they read which was just funny more than sad, but man, those were some horrible shit being said.
You're probably right? I haven't exactly kept up with it. Last I heard, that was the status quo, though I wouldn't be shocked if things have changed since then.

Agents have at least gotten smarter about it though. Nowadays they aren't telling girls to hold out because they think they'll lose fans, they're telling them to hold out in the vague hopes of a huge paycheck down the line. Still ends up having the same effect, though.

The most popular performers get the most hate mail, irregardless of how attractive they are. The e-mail that Leya Falcon got? I'm fairly sure Tori Black has received that e-mail multiple times, since the circumstances of her career/life are about the same (publicly stated preference for black men, interracial child/children).
Edit: I actually take that back. Tori's e-mails would be a mix of the one Anikka got and the one Leya got.
