I don't want to know anything about this game from here out. No demo, no video, no nothing. What ive seen looks so amazing and full of possibility i want to be surprised by the full game.

If it's the same as type-0 then there wouldn't be any difference between the two inputs.

If it's like Type-0 then the only animation cancelling you can do is by dodging (and I think summons?). But either way, it would probably look exactly the same as holding. Unless you took too long to press the consecutive attacks, in which case I suppose you would keep getting the "Break" attack.

I really enjoyed the paralyzing attack btw.
Lots of great animation in that scene.
That shit looked brutal as hell.

It's one of the 5 weapons you equip.
the "Break" is the weapon that starts your combo. You go Break > Rush > Slash (the weapon that starts the combo, to the weapon that continues it, and then the weapon that finishes the enemy).

I'm going to try not to cry. Last main FF game I played was 12, which was the best FF to me behind 7. I just hope the game has the FF vibe to it. I'll know it within a few minutes of playing.

I have a good feeling about it. My only potential concern at this point is the party variety; I hope it's not just limited to these four guys. That being said, I enjoyed XIII-2 and Lightning Returns a lot even though they only had one or two party members entirely, but those were sequels/spinoffs. I don't have much of a problem with the known party, but I hope that's not like... it.
It'll be these four and a random guest character from time to time.

Just figured that since we haven't seen much of the game that there would be more party members revealed later on especially as production is finally moving along as it should be.
The people from Noctis' kingdom are sword summoners.
The reason why Prompto (the blonde guy) doesn't do that and uses guns is because he's presumed to be an outsider.

Personally, I think the execution is flawless. It never made sense why characters in RPGs could have every weapon in some invisible, bottomless bag. At least there's a story explanation here.

The puckish playboy Prompto befriended Noctis in his school days. He wears a chip on his shoulder as an outsider to the royal circle, but remains eager to do all he can for the cause. A friend who has been a bad influence to Noctis since his school days. While he can get carried away easily, there's another side of him which is driven to help friends in need.
