Parakeetman
No one wants a throne you've been sitting on!
Looks like it worked.
Now I'm off to all the other Japanese game threads to shout about localisation to see if the response time is as fast
hahaha timing was pretty good

Well shit....do I still download it on the japanese store >_< I don't know. I swear they announced it like this just to deter people from getting the japanese version. Without a release date though, it's still hard to resist.
Does this game have cutscenes, or just text to tell its story?

Sweet, so like Hyrule Warriors? Sure its story wasn't oscar winning, but still a good time.
Whats nice is since this is an original story its not like folks really have to have played previous DQ games also. For those who have the sub-characters are a great addition for the fans.
Wow didn't expect localization news so quickly.
And just when I find out I've accidentally got two PS3 copies coming my way. What a maroon!
Lets start a campaign where we persuade them to patch the Japanese version with english voices/text once available. Or atleast an english text language option for importers. Lots of games let you pick the language.

I hope these characters are dlc. I mean Yangus and Jessica is in, why stop there?

Im sure they left out the 8 MC due to pretty much thats what the original MC is. Just minus the bandanna lol.
I think they specifically said they didn't want to put the main protagonists from the series.
Okay, then, what about Angelo?

Though Id like to strongly say that most likely they will add in Torneko just due to how loved the character is. Would imagine he would have some interesting skills also. Such as increasing drop rates of $$$ and other things.
Am sure they did not want to put him in from the start due to the King being the "older male" character. Doesnt help too that hes using a staff type of weapon. Granted its not a polearm, but close enough lol.
God, Torneko. My PSP died on my during my playthrough, think it was during the Sword/Mage Dungeon. Bought a new one but haven't had the time to sit down with it again
Ps, the animation of Torneko as he slides away on the ice is still one of the cutest things ever ^^
Oh wow, this game has a shoutout to Dai no Daibouken. Alena's Tension Special Attack when you press circle is "Senka Rekkouken" which was Mam's special technique in that series. Different property but awesome to use the same name.
So who says we CAN'T try to persuade SE to include an english mode in the JPN version? The english version will probably have a japanese option for text and dialog.

It's not going to happen.
Since we have a PC version too can imagine they fully own the rights to everything with the resources used in DQX. Reason for bringing that up is in DQX Tornerko makes an appearance so with that in mind they would already have some motion / model data to go off of if they wanted to.

So stoked! As is my ten year old daughter, who cosplayed as Alena at PAX East last year. Looking forward to it.
So when the localized version comes out, can we switch the OT to NOT A MUSOU.
Thanks
Still weird that they never gave DQX a chance in the west. I imagine FFXIV was finally doing well enough and they couldn't strain their resources.
Your daughter, she is a ok! *thumbsUp.gif*
Got it installed on PS4 and played the first mission. It's definitely a Musou game, but the visuals and sounds go a long way to making it feel like Dragon Quest.
From a graphics perspective, I'm kind of disappointed. I thought the game was going to look and run a little better. It's definitely not locked at 60 fps and there are some pretty big drops even in the first mission. The mysterious lack of anistropic filtering typical of PS4 games strikes again here, but it stands out even more than usual since the environments are so barren, flat, and span across a long distance. They're also using some really low quality SSAO effect that causes a lot of flickering and hurts the overall image. The other gripe I had is that the low quality models for monsters at a distance are terrible. They look like 2D sprite boards with maybe two or three frames of animation. Luckily, they only showed up only once on the first mission.
Definitely going to dig in more later today, but I figured I'd post my initial impressions about the graphics.
