It already was? edit: Just checked, it is top seller right now.

Uhh, it's a top seller right now.

To clarify, Valve releases top revenue earners on Steam every Sunday.

For last week, Cities ranked number 4 for all of Steam, I was predicting a top slot for this week's release.

First PC game in many many years. :D
I'm back baby.

How is that possible?

Preordered weeks ago, not even mad I didn't hunt for a discount. The hours I'm gonna sink into this.

Hopefully the game unlocks by this time tomorrow, so I can start downloading it before I go to work!

Here is the video about cims using public transports, and more videos here.

I'm going to spend hours just doing this. I'm going to experiment with how many connections cims will make, how long they'll walk for, etc. This is the agent behavior I initially thought SC was going to provide.

I like the OT title. It will definitely get this game more (and better) exposure. It's better than a clever title given the confusion with Cities XL. Good choice!

Also, looking forward to this game. Haven't properly played a city simulator since SimCity 3000.

It will either be Cities Skylines or Hotline Miami 2. I'd say both have a good shot at the top sales spot for the week.

When is the review embargo lifted on this? Not that we really need them. Watching people play so much I have a pretty good opinion.

Hotline Miami 2 might garner more buzz overall, but it'll be spread out among a couple of platforms. Plenty of people will be getting that on the Playstation platforms, while this is a Steam exclusive.

I hope CO / Paradox are ready for time in the spotlight!

Pre-purchased this game after watching a few streams on it and I had good impression. Really looking forward to building again. Last game I played that had enjoyable city management with good mods was Sim City 4...so it's been a while.

I can hopefully get this by the end of the month. Shame there is no demo version, for I still don't know how well it will run on my system.

Also, nice OT, spiritfox.

After seeing people talk about it, pictures and videos I put it on my wishlist but kept feeling like I wanted it. Watched the dev vid and you know what, that made me just pre order it.

Why?

It felt like holy shit, people....these people come off as.....people and not merely suits saying what they think we want to hear.

And I appreciate that.

I know this thing really needs a dedicated video card, but has anyone tried running this on a 2013 Macbook Air (i7 w/ 8 gigs of ram)?

I'm in the process of upgrading my desktop. Hoping to have it done by summer. After seeing streams of this game, I want to give it a go. However, after further reading, it may run extremely hot on my Surface Pro 3 i5 128GB :-(.

Anyone know?

Response from a forum member on Paradox when I posted specs: "Barely if it's 1333x768. For something like full hd, not a chance.".

I guess I'll wait to upgrade desktop :-(

I've been following this game on and off for a bit. I like how it's basically the opposite of Sim City in terms of how they're treating their customers. That said, it's a real shame they're doing pre-order bonuses. I really don't want to buy the game now because of how packed March is.

Does Paradox ever resell/rebundle preorder DLC?

I'm crossing my fingers that my old shoddy GTX 450/i3 processor/6 GB of ram machine back at home can run this at medium/low settings. I could run Sim City 2013 pretty much fine, unless this is more demanding or something.

So excited all of you will finally be able to play this. This thread is going to explode come this time tomorrow.

So happy to be on this hype train!

Pretty pumped. I'm going to stream my city from the start and hopefully get help from the community, because while I enjoyed Sim City 4, I'm not efficient at city building.

...no region play? Cities in isolation just doesn't feel right these days. Will I live with that?

I'm also not quite sold on realistic water behaviour. Some things are meant to be kept simple in my opinion.

I just tried it on my Surface Pro 2 with an advanced city save game (more than 50 000 cims), I could get between 12 and 23 FPS with everything on low in 720p, so it will run better on a Pro 3.

In an starting city it runs pretty well though, except when zooming in too much, the SP2 does not seem to like too much grass and trees upclose.
