Even if I had seen someone say that, it'd still be dumb to say that someone who doesn't enjoy multiplayer isn't a fan.

You are talking nonsense. You know that, right? The multiplayer being 'huge' doesn't make the campaign a thing nobody cares about.

I used to play through the campaigns online with friends about 10x more often than we played MP.

If Halo had no multiplayer EVER would it be as popular as it is today?

For the record, I vastly enjoyed the campaigns I'm just speaking from my experience.

No of course not. Same goes for Call of Duty 4 and what happened with that.

The campaigns in that, and Halos 2-4 are all great. 3 is a standout for me.

Halo if it never had the campaigns wouldn't be half as successful a franchise as it is today. So you keep on dreaming. Halo MP may be popular, but it is far from the only reason that people pick and play Halo. I play Halo for the campaigns, to see the story and follow where things go next for the characters and the overall universe.

If you think that makes you more of a Halo fan than myself then whatever makes you sleep better at night. I'm about as real a fan as it gets and I own and have read through all the major book releases except possibly one, and own every single game in the series except ODST. Halo's MP has never been what interested me in the series, it was the fiction, characters and overall universe.

Thank god not everyone buys into the fantasy that Halo would be what it is today without the campaign.

Well I enjoyed the first level and the way we entered requiem. And there were some great cutscenes with traditional chief flair. The ending gameplay and story could have been far better.

But the campaigns have always felt too linear like most shooters so I've more or less stuck to multiplayer after beating them once or twice.

Huh. I enjoy the lore and some of the books but I can't imagine forgoing the multiplayer.

If it's an in-game cutscene, I'll be jumping all over my room. If it's a live action teaser, I'll be somewhat satisfied. But if it's a CG teaser, I'll be disappointed.

Don't know why, but I'm not a fan of CG trailers. Especially in this new generation where cutscenes can look freaking amazing thanks to new console hardware. Expectations will be balanced tonight.

I never meant to attack anyones opinions. I have always enjoyed both modes equally. I was only speaking from experience with opinions from GAF and the Bungie community I have heard over the years.

Sorry for making observations and posting my results.

Also, I was never heated. Furthermore, I don't need air to live.

To add to the discussion: Halo 4 ending is horrible. The rest of the game is quite good.

MP:I've enjoyed it. Halo 3 was better but I enjoyed Halo 4 for what it was.

I'd say to expect at least some CGI from in-game cinematics, too. We've already seen a clip of that in that Xbox promo reel.

Yeah but I think we have our expectations in check now. We know to expect a live action trailer or maybe a story teaser.

Yup, how I've been feeling. With that tagline I don't expect to see anything surprising.
