I didn't realize this was coming out soon enough to already have reviews up.
These reviews are fairly useless. Where's the information about the sound compression and framerate? They should be concentrating on these things more since it's a port not just gushing about the actual game which everyone knows about already from the Wii version.
Gamesradar review: Larger boss creatures are prone to serious frame rate drops when all three party members start launching special attacks that better resemble firework displays.
I would still recommend the game. This was an issue even on the Wii version, and I can't imagine it's any better on 3DS, but the game quality really helps you forget about these things. I've never been strict with framerate consistency though.
Edit: Examiner.com calls the framerate impressively smooth and stable, while USgamer calls it choppy. Take those conflicting opinions for what you will, but knowing what I know about the original, Gamesradar is probably right that it pops up in specific but very complex situations.

Reviews are assuming most people never played the original, and they're probably right to do so considering the extremely low amount of copies that were shipped. Fact is, for the most part these reviews simply aren't aimed at previous players, who are an extreme and very lucky minority. See my earlier post for framerate though.
I've reviewed the game: I can confirm that the game runs pretty well, but certain encounters can create framerate dips. similar to the original Wii game, in that aspect.
Do you have any complaints about the sound quality?
no, at least with headphones. the OST gallery is also a nice addition

Can any person with early access tell me if there's multiple save slots? Tried to watch some videos to find about but didn't see any save screens being shown.
You guys think Nintendo will release a Xenoblade branded New 3DS XL at launch?

Nah. It's less than 2 weeks away.
I am not sure limited production is the culprit. My EB had a total of three preorders. This isn't some tiny shop, either. A town of 80,000 people, two EB stores, and probably 7 preorders total between them. I couldn't believe that so many people slept on this game. The game became very hard to find for less than $100 not too long after launch, due to the limited number of copies for the game made.
Mine arrived this morning

I describe it as a single player MMORPG. All the quests, the game world, and the combat system have a distinct MMO feel. The story is well done and the art direction is stunning.
The character designs are the usual weird Japan stuff, but the cutscenes, writing, and voice acting is fantastic.
To what JRPG is this game comparable ? I bought a new 3DS and since this is a exclusive, I might try it out if it's my taste.
nothing bad about weird japan stuff, but it just seems so damn generic. and the english voice acting is good? I was a bit bummed that they didn't include the japanese dub due to cartridge restrictions :/
It's not really about the character designs honestly. The great art direction is found in the design of the world and the scope of things, with the atmosphere and great use of color and music to set the mood. The humanish character designs aren't spectacular but that's just a small detail really.
ok sounds good!
one more thing: is the exploration worthwhile and fulfilling in this game? I had the problem with Dragon Age Inquisition that exploring the yet beautiful areas was pointless because the loot or quests I got was bad or boring.
That's hot. Multiple save slots?
Is the colour of the card any different?
Just playing the prologue now so I'll let you know!
Pretty much the same as before D:
One thing I must say, this port runs a lot better than I thought it would. I've not turned 3D off yet and I've seen little to no frame drops. It's a buttery smooth 30 so far.
Great! This was one of my main concerns. Is it smooth on both cities and open plains?
I'm near the VERY end of Xenoblade on Wii but I haven't beaten yet, nor have I even booted up the game in months. I think I'm going to double dip when this comes out in NA and restart from scratch. It's a shame that my 90 hour file will remain incomplete for the time being.
I simply can't find time to sink into this game and it being on a portable will do wonders.
.... That's insane, you're willing to start over! What area are you in? I would say just finish the game man.

Goddamn. I just started thinking how great it would be to play this with multiple players. Does X have any multiplayer capabilities?
Mega spoilers (obviously):
I'm inside the bionis about to enter the chamber to fight the Telethia that is merged with Melia's brother and Lorithia. The mechonis has been destroyed, Egil's dead. And Shulk is alive for some mysterious reason.
I have not been able to beat that boss battle, and put down the game for about 3 months now.
How far am I? I think I'm close to the end give the amount of shit going down.
