Hmm.... I feel like the StarFox Horizon portion is a dead giveaway that this info is fake. I sincerely doubt Platinum is involved.

Plus, no way they'd make the N64 virtual console support widescreen. It'd be way too sloppy because many of the start screens and other assets are drawn in 4:3. That's just not Nintendo's style.
