GTA V PC Full Graphics Options Revealed

Sounds like the PC performance thread will be amusing with the amount of people complaining about rubbish framerate when they dial every sliders up to 11.

So according to pcgamesn.com the recommended specs should manage 1080p and meet 60fps at medium settings.
I wonder if the same rig with a GTX 770 isntead of the 660 would manage to handle 1080p at high.

The suggested CPU for that is a bit on the higher end so I hope that's not the barrier that needs to be overcome. Probably is given how many open world games seem CPU bound.

Also Jesus christ 40+ million copies.

All that bitching over delays for nothing.

Rockstar is King. Never doubt your King!!!

I want to try it just to see how my laptop's i7-3610QM and Nvidia GTX 660M will handle it. lol

5960X with Titan Black SLI here. Very curious if I can hit the same performance they saw at 4K. I will more than likely only play at 1440p though.

Hoping I'll be able to do 60fps on Very High at 1440p with my 980 and 2600k. FXAA if I have to, but I'm more worried about my CPU.

Eh, I'm still cautious till impressions of the released game come out. Also I'll be pushing the low end to its limits on an aging laptop. Nothing has killed it yet i5 dual core and gt525m is a real test :p

I'll just turn off any nvidia special effects, tessellation, ambient occlusion, and put shadows on low-medium. I really don't care about that stuff that much. I'll inject smaa instead of using their aa solutions and that should give me enough performance savings to run everything besides world detail on the highest. Hopefully the traffic density goes very very high, or you can mod it early on to be absurd.

Not really interested in the story or missions, I just want a crazy realistic and dense world to play around in.

No SMAA? Boooo

It's the only decent AA my system can handle in most games :/

Sweetfx/Injecting should work right?

Gah...the thought of driving around, 'To Pimp a Butterfly' playing on the radio, everything great about the previous versions and much more to enjoy. Feels good.

I don't understand why so many games don't provide SMAA. It's like FXAA, but it sucks way, way less. And injecting it with SweetFX makes things like fine text look badly dithered.

Can't wait to see if the ICEnhancer gets made for this. It'll be amazing...

Not unless Boris, the creator of ENB (which ICEhancer is based on), creates an ENB version for DirectX 11.

We have Reshade, but it's unknown whether or not they'll be able to access the depth buffer, which is required for some of the more advanced lighting and shading effects.

Can Gedesato or other programme force it?

Only SMAA 1x. Which is like FXAA. SMAA T-something is the mode that has a temporal component (so like TXAA) and SMAA S-something is the one with the extra samples (so like MSAA + SMAA 1x)

I find SMAA 1x gives a much more pleasing image than FXAA. I know technically they're both doing something more or less the same, but SMAA just bothers me less. It just seems like it blurs less.

Is it me, or did the quote thing bug out a bit with Nzyme's post? :p
Either way, Gedosato won't work because the game's in DX11 which Gedosato is incompatible with. Again, Reshade is the only injector that'll work since it can hook into most everything right now.

WHAT?

No Next-Gen Chromatic Aberration effect?

Pre-order cancelled!

Don't worry, it'll be there and you just won't have the option to turn it off.

If you edit the ini file you'll received a PM from Rockstar about how you're ruining their artistic vision.

I'll be happy with high and FXAA on my 780ti and i7 3770k @ 50-60 FPS.

If I can't get 60 FPS maxed out @ 1440p on my GTX Titan SC and i7 4770k. I will call this not optimized.

People still worry about VRAM usage in games?

That stealth brag. Yes Smokey we get it you have Titan X's.

I'm still not jealous, I got a Titan with 6GB VRAM, never had to worry, and it has been what now? 2 years since I bought my PC. :)

TAJ

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Never heard of PCSS. Had to google it. Unbelievable. Is it super taxing in AC: Unity? What's the FPS hit? I need this in my life.

unity:

ILM started using this on Dragonheart almost 20 years ago. They called it y-cast shadows or something. It's been too long and Google is no help.
