It's gonna have exo suits, I really wish it didn't, but it's pretty much guaranteed.

i advocate a future setting but this is one of the things i agree with, i liked the Exo suits but id rather the dont have em in BO3 and Treyarch just do their own thing.

I thought that we'd see a lot of diversity as far as time periods go now that each studio is on a three year development cycle. It seemed like part of Activision's goal with doing that was to make each entry feel fresh. But if you've got two studios going in the same direction, then that kind of takes away from that. And IW may even go into the futuristic direction.

Having skipped Black Ops 2 and Advanced Warfare I'm surprisingly excited for Black Ops 3. Hopefully the campaign is worth playing, since that's generally the main reason I play COD.

I hope so but I'm afraid the install base of last gen is still going strong. This would push me to buy a Xbox One lol. No joke.

I still think this...

So this sounds like bullshit, until you start comparing it to the snapchats.

-Shots of nature with no civilization in sight

-Quick cuts to modern military and fluorescent lights

-The sun

-A house on a mountain quickly engulfed in flames

-A hidden logo which appears on the website of a sunscreen company

And apparently Activision just released this as a marketing material/official twitter background.

Could be bullshit... but maybe not.

...may be accurate. Maybe the concept has changed a bit, but I think there will still be ideas pulled from it (ESPECIALLY the whole "solar flare" thing. The teaser actually made me more certain of that with the logo. It looks like the sun.) Treyarch has always been the one to push more outlandish concepts, so I can see them actually trying something like this.

Play Black Ops 2's campaign ASAP.

I am OK with the setting, but I hate seeing "future weapons" in a call of duty title. I don't want fucking lasers or energy weapons in these games.

A lot of that is also interpretation, which is possibly why they do it. They think its a fresh idea and all we see is them taking an older Contra approach to everything. They aren't set on making an authentic historical war game. They're just depicting their own ideas into a fictional setting. I think a lot of people enjoyed MW and BO because it was a modern take on everything and now the series takes itself too seriously. It was one thing to have CoD 1-3 and even MoH take on a part of history, but then CoD does it and they go all out. A hidden laser weapon as an Easter egg is fine, but we've already had a large arsenal of futuristic weapons. I expect to see the same thing I've seen the last couple of years. Where do I go to find that original war game? I think a lot it might come from how they're interpreting this whole thing. They can a make a good game, but its like how DmC was. How much of that do they feel is dated? I think the design approach they "could" have would be better than what they make now. Those corridor levels and one hit camera shots really get to me after a while. World at War was released many years ago and there's been multiple games released since then.

go look at NPD Nov & Dec thread. AW sales on 360 were massive. So can you really blame the company for not making money?

BLOPS 3 coming. Not a surprise but I hope the MP is good. I haven't played a good CoD MP since MW1 and MW2. ( and yes I liked the stacking of killstreaks)

IW may be the "modern-ish" studio now. They are either making Ghosts 2 or MW4 (though I think it's a near lock that it's Ghosts 2). So it's slightly in the future, but still using weapons available today.

That's too bad. You skipped two of the best campaigns in the series.

I really hope they leave jetpacks out in multiplayer. I felt AW's multiplayer suffered for it. If they could bring over BLOPS 1 or WaW's tight map designs that be great.

The last figure or outline they show before the logo looks a lot like the guy on the BO1 cover. Is it, or is it probably the guy that will be on the BO3 cover? I would assume it's a new guy, since the first outline they show looks like the BO1 guy too and the second they show is the BO2 guy.

Yay!

The New 3DS XL has been sendt to me.

Ive so far only had the original first 3DS model, so it will be ncie to have one with bigger screen.

Sad thing is I have Xenoblade already in the house staring at me.

Goddamn that was a great teaser. Loved Black Ops 1 and World at War so I'm looking forward to this. Hopefully Treyarch improves the writing over Black Ops 2.

Another year, another lack of a World War I Call of Duty :(

(Yes, I'm aware, it will never happen. But I'm a WWI history buff so I'd love to see at least SOMEBODY make a WWI FPS. We've gotten RTS, flight games, and even a fucking puzzle game, but no shooter.)

God I hope not. I need classic style CoD, not all this jumping around.

If they are only for sideways dashing it'll be fine.

It may not. In the past, different CoDs have changed up movement abilities like diving, etc.

The game was in development for 2 years before AW was even out, Activision aren't going to add something new to AW calling it a game changing feature etc, then another CoD also in development at the same time not having it, it just doesn't make any sense at all for it to not have it.

If anything, It's going to be much worse unfortunately :/ AW was likely only the stepping stone to the jetpacks bollocks, BO3 will be taking that a step further and MW4 or whatever probably even further than that.

The best chance we have at a traditional COD is probably going to be BO4 and even then I doubt it which makes me sad :/ I loved Titanfall so maybe Treyarch will be more like that which will make me happy, but the exo suit in AW felt so much worse compared to TF for some reason I can't really explain so I'm not getting my hopes up..
