With as popular as black ops has become I could see them going current gen only. It would be more likely to get people to upgrade than Advanced Warfare from an unproven developer.

Huh? The ASM1 was the overpowered gun. BAL-27 was nerfed (still good, but is a gun being good an actual problem?). AK is balanced. The rest of your rant is opinion, yet you wrote that out as if you were laying out facts.

No, but when using any other gun (aside from the three mentioned) puts you at a significant disadvantage, the gun balance of the game is obviously horribly off. People can shit on Ghosts all day because of its time to kill and maps, but the weapon balancing was excellent in the game.

Good point. If there was any COD developer that could get people to go to next gen, it would be Treyarch.

I never got the hype for zombies. Its just a boring horde mode. And Zombies... zombies is even more stale than a futures setting.

Create something new for Coop. Or simply let me play the campaign in Coop.
The difference between codZ and your typical horde mode is the amount of effort put into making it and all the content from that effort. So much art has been made, and good music, and a overarching plot connecting everything. Every map has character dialog more extensive than a grunt or yelp of pain, the characters have personality and joke about things. Many of the map secrets are subtler and, though detailed and interesting, a player who just wants a zombie shooting horde mode can do exactly that. The content is as deep or shallow as you choose to go.

Blops 2 did a disservice to fans by forcing the plot up in your face and making survival more about stress than fun (specifically in Tranzit and Die Rise), but the amount of and quality of the total experience has rather consistently been much higher than the vast majority of horde modes in games. I think Gears of War 3's horde mode is a good example of the lazy, slapped together "boring horde mode" you mentioned. CodZ is not.

And, that's not true at all. Maybe you are only remembering the initial day of release, but that is not true at all now. And it would be best to stop the spreading of incorrect information. There are 10 guns I personally rotate myself, and I regularly run the rooms with other advanced players.

Every stream I watch it is the same thing over and over. Bal27, Bal27 and more Bal27. For a few weeks people were using the ASM1, but now it's back to the Bal27.

I am going to have to disagree with you. SHG has been on the ball with buffs/nerfs. At the current state of the game right now you can do great with every gun if you learn how to use it. People can shit on AW all they want but everyone was complaining COD wasn't innovative enough so they add Exo-Suits which is pretty innovative, then everyone complains about it. Make up your minds people!

I feel bad for people who like advanced warfare.. that was as bad as ghosts IMO!

Nothing will be as bad as Ghosts. And when you have a game such as Call of Duty 3 - a game from a studio that is now considered the A-team of the Call of Duty series - that's saying something considering Ghosts came from what not only used to be the A-team, but from the developer who gave us one of the best FPS games ever and one of the most defining games ever.

Advanced Warfare was a great game. It was hardly gonna win GOTY awards, but as blockbuster spectacles go, I had much, much fun with it.

If the people you choose to watch use it, that's on them. That doesn't represent EVERY COD player, and it certainly doesn't represent me. Because I am telling you I don't use just those weapons, and I win.

Don't see how that statement could be any more clear.

I have been firmly anti-exo since the reveal.

So, the official game description says it's for next-gen hardware.

Is this current gen exclusive or is last gen still hanging on?

Not that it really matters, since Treyarch won't work the last gen ports any ways ...

I kind of don't expect to find out until the 26th.

Well im talkimg strictly mutliplayer if that matters. I stop playing cod campaigns in the middle of BO1.

Ah, fair enough.

I only play for the campaigns and don't play too much multiplayer besides an odd hour or two at launch. Think Call of Duty 4 was the game I spent much of my multiplayer time with.

I still don't think any of the Heavy weapons are very good, with the exception of the OHM. I still have some fun using the EM1 because it's a nice change of pace to use hipfire, but I do feel I'm at a disadvantage while using it.

The pistols are all pretty bad too, but they're pistols so I don't mind that.

Pistols (sans a couple of variants) aren't really good. no argument there. However the EM1 (ESPECIALLY ON PC) is one of the best guns in the game. Best hipfire, TTK is 2-3 seconds, tops. Can kill across the map with ease.

Also, the Pytek has incredible variants. OHM is really good. It may need a nerf.

With Black Ops 2 being extremely popular, I'd say this game will definitely be cross gen. Activision will want to squeeze the remaining 7th gen player base for everything before next year.

Could be shortsighted though. It's either 2015 or 2016 that will be the end of the cross gen COD. Black Ops 3 is a very enticing game. People would absolutely buy a new system just for the game.

Ghosts 2... well people will just skip the game if it's not on 360 or PS3. Ghosts 2 just doesn't have the same appeal.

So having a cross gen Black Ops 3 would be great for Black Ops 3, but bad for next gen only Ghosts 2 and Advanced Warfare 2.

I've heard about the EM1 on PC's, and I really wish I could've played it on the Wii U with pointer controls, but I'm playing on the Xbone unfortunately and I'm still not 100% comfortable with the controls. It feels pretty poor up close(against BAL and SMGs), and at a distance, but is great in mid-range.

Also, I'm pissed there hasn't been a Chicom CBQ equivalent in either Ghosts or AW. The zero delay 3 burst was so much fun to use.

I HATE playing FPS games on console. I wish the devs would properly support AW on console. Because I can't for the life of me play with a controller.

I know, problem was that the maps were made with the Exo suits in mind, so playing around on those maps without the suits sucked almost even more.

Wait, you WANT to jump on ledges and roofs and move faster around the map? But you just said you didn't want Exos. Make up your mind, Frillen!

Firstly: If it's the same symmetrical, SMG-laser-hipfire, e-sports catering, crap, then you can keep it Treyarch.

Secondly: COD can move consoles, so I'm not sure why Activision can just let last-gen go and move forward. Considering COD REALLY needs to freshen up it's formula, it almost seems that current-gen consoles can help them do that.

I haven't played AW in a month or two to be honest with you, so I'm not exactly up to date on anything they've done to it since. I do remember the BAL-27 still being good after it got nerfed (did they nerf it again?), and the AK had virtually zero recoil. Most people were still using those guns at the time I stopped playing. Perhaps the ASM1 is the OP gun now, but it wasn't then. As for the rest of my rant, I stated it as fact because it is.

  • Horrible weapons / score streaks = FACT
  • 7.5 seconds to plant/disarm a bomb in S&D = FACT
  • Small maps = FACT
  • EXO suits ruining the flow of most objective-based game types = FACT
Saying that Advanced Warfare is a great game is more of an opinion than anything I stated.

AW was only good as a palette cleanser for Ghosts, which was one of the worst games of all time.

I hope weapon variants are gone too, really sucks not being able to use certain guns because you weren't lucky enough, and I imagine it makes balancing the game more difficult too.

That loot based crap was the dumbest idea for a competitive game.

The fact you can buy Supply Drops now though makes me think it will return.

They need to go back to the way of CODBO Zombies mode of map easter eggs. By the time Origins showed up it was pretty much mandatory you try to do them just to progress farther in the rounds. It wasn't like that at all in Black Ops, even with Moon. Though I chalk that up by having the campaign team being added to help cycle zombie maps, as far as I know they did Alcatraz and Origins.

"With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies"

I'm not sure Activision knows what "unique" means#

Also, what will it take for people to stop saying "next-gen"? These consoles are here. They're current. Saying anything other than current gen or 8th gen sounds dumb.

There are several needlessly large maps in the game (especially the DLC). I don't really see how the time on S&D matters in all of this. How can you try in any way state "horrible weapons = fact"? I mean, I disagree. Which means its not a fact. And your complaint on Exos is not fact either.

We get it. You don't like AW.

I agree. I like variants, but RANDOM being the only way to get them is stupid.

For those that want the game to be current gen only I think it's better to be surprised if it is, if not then they will just port the game to last gen

My wants summary:

current gen only
smaller maps
less cluttered maps
no exo suits
current gen only

Throw in theater mode and this list is complete. Recording every game is so shitty and I like making Call of Duty videos. Theater mode is a NEED for me, some of my friends even use theater mode as a way to watch the games they played and get better. Treyarch pls don't let me down! ;-;
