CDPR is Rockstar's little Polish brother. Even their trailers are the same.

Looks awesome though, best trailer so far.

oh god, why?

This game shits on a lot of favorites around here *ahem* Bloodborne, Skyrim. The only RPG that can take it's mantle is Dragon's Dogma 2. It's all about control for me. Haven't played Bloodborne, but its combat system is not as robust as TW 2/3 or DD. It's the only thing that prevents BB from being a game I play and worship.

This game that I haven't played shits on this other game that I haven't played. The only game that can rival it is one that does not even exist.

Oh god, did i just see a timer for the dialogue? That's a major put off for me. Don't want another RPG like Dragon age with an obscure dialogue system forcing me to constantly reload due to poor paraphrasing or running out of time.

lol, I think your post might have been a little too subtle, a lot of people think you were being serious...

Oh stop that the "I haven't played" line. You doubt CD Project Red? You doubt Naughty Dogg (Uncharted 4), Batman Arkham Knight (WB), Zelda (Nintendo), Bloodborne (From). Do you not have eyes? Do you not see what I (we) see. This game is in beast mode.

It's just my opinion mann. I've seen enough of BB to know that it's combat would feel lethargic to what I've played on TW2. Forget my inferior opinion since I haven't played BB and base my opinion on in-depth observation. How about those who have played BB and TW2. Any thoughts on the combat? It is you who I (we) want to hear from. People seem afraid to speak up on these two titles. They don't want to pit them against each other.

I've played TW2 on 360. Not anywhere near the same kind of battle system, can't really compare the two.

As for visuals, completely different aesthetic and scale. BB has much better art direction by far in literally every area of the game. But W3's straight graphics are better, even though BB isn't really a slouch there either with tons of geometry and polygons in virtually every area.

On the other hand W3 is an actual open world, whereas BB has a sub area, and although its main world is 'open' in the sense that you can go from the start to beginning without loading, its still not an actual open environment like the Witcher 3 is.

I don't know, is it worse to have NPCs that just stand around and do nothing while you contemplate your choices or is it worse to have a game that actually checks how witty you are?

Very excited for this. Witcher 2 was my GOTY the year it came out, and while this year seems like a shoe in that MGS5 will be my personal GOTY...this is going to be the only thing that can go toe to toe.

Did I just see a Triss and Yennefer threesome? Sign me the fuck up! Curious how Geralt managed to talk Yennefer into that, such a sly dog.

Why would i care if the NPC is just standing there why i contemplate the most appropriate answer? It's a game not a bloody movie, conversation flow be damned.

I know that, but those videos show Hairworks, not the ultra preset.

Yeah I was simply pointing out the issue with your logic. You said it doesn't show hair works so it's not ultra. I'm saying they are mutually exclusive settings. It could be ultra without hair works too (though it isn't)

No hairworks so no ultra.

I am very interested in this game, but this is hyperbole out of control. Bloodborne has 93 metaacore and while this game will be good that will be tough to beat.

On combat...you must be joking. That is my main concern with this game. I will play The Witcher 3 for the story and exploration. If the combat doesn't drag down the stronger parts of the game I will consider that good enough. There is no way the average encounters in this game will compete with Souls combat.

Some dialog choices are going to be time limited (like in Witcher 2) - I think that's great.. the Witche series is mostly about choices and consenquences and well sometimes you don't have the luxury of time, so you need to think fast.. in that particular scene the time limit is really generous, you know what he wants from you and the answers are short, so no problem there in my opinion

I really doubt those women are Triss and Yennefer.. probably just some random prostitues

I will never take anything you say seriously again.

I see.
To my mind it kind of makes sense to associate ultra settings with Hairworks, like HBAO+.

That is a nividia feature, and plus, your probably gonna need a higher end rig to run them competently.
On some games (COD Ghosts) there are presets to chose from (medium-high hairworks), so maybe CDPR will make this tech more scalable.

All right. Never played the previous games so had no idea timed conversations was a thing in the series. Still bums me the f*** out.

I dont think there is any reason to be worried about the console ports

They pulled some voodoo magic on the witcher 2 for 360
Still cant believe they ported it as good as they did

Very VERY true

Still... would love to finally see some updated console footage. Game is only a month out, after all...

I really hate asking questions like this but do you guys think a $1000 PC build could pull 1080/60 out of this on high? I've been beating around this PC bush for too damn long.

This is what I am getting at in these forums. Thanks for the feedback by the way, but why say the battle system is not the same. We need to regard the fact that both are 3rd person RPGs. In your opinion, which combat felt better? I just think TW combat is more visceral. There is an odd hit detection on the From games that I've seen in playthroughs. Maybe it's just me.

I remember Valve releasing a first-person RPG (forgot the name), and I felt the combat was a lot more fun than that on Skyrim.
