Would people say this is easier or harder to play than MK9 for casual/bad players? Asking for a friend, I'm pro...*cough*

So on PS4 you can use PS3 sticks.. but on xb1 you cant use 360 sticks, right?

I cant decide what system to get it for :(

All my friends have xb1, but I need a stick to play.

I'm maining Jacqui at the moment and I feel like she will be ignored by people. Hopefully she turns out really good. I'm loving her full auto variation good zone and close combat skills.

Welp, the game just bluescreened my computer cause I had the nerve to click on single player. Has anyone been able to play the Steam release? Also fuck High Voltage, as soon as I saw their splash screen the shitty as hell situation the game is in now makes way more sense.

Apparently the game wasn't supposed to be out until like 6/7pm tonight which is why it's not working. It uses the new Steam stream technology which is why it's only 3gb, but the "packs" haven't downloaded yet, which is why the game crashes constantly (because the data isn't there yet). It should hopefully work perfectly fine in 4 or 5 hours.

From what I understand, this is the new background DLC streaming service, the thing that's supposed to replicate how the PS4 Install works, letting you play a bit while the rest of the services download in the background, completely failing. If I had to guess, there's something in those 25 mandatory packs that's required to play, and they screwed up and didnt put it in the initial 3 gig download. So until the DLC packs go up, which apparently is at 1pm est, the game will be unplayable.

Again, GG High Voltage.

Yeah that. Which begs the question, why pop it early at all?

Any differences between PS4 and Xbox One versions?
PS4 is region locked for multiplayer, XB1 is not.

Fuck it, ordered it from CJS-Keys as they source their keys from the EU which makes me feel safer about the region lock, and I've used them before. £18.50 for Goro edition. Apparently it'll full unlock later today so can't wait!

1080p vs 900p.
Oh shit has this been confirmed? In the performance thread I thought the 900p figure was presumed? To be expected I suppose.

I will probably join whatever faction is doing the worst. Does it show how many players are joined in each faction?

I can't find it. All it seems to show is the percentage of points each faction has earned. Come join SF, we need all the help we can get.

Is anybody using the titian one or cronusMAX for their controllers? If so how are they working?

Very exited to play this but not on a normal ps4 controller.

I picked up a Titan One. Haven't gotten my copy of MKX yet, but I tested it with KI and it was easy to setup and didn't have any noticeable input lag.

It was Steam's screw up, if I were NRS I'd be really pissed because the 1000 1* reviews will hurt sales. Steam should really remove all the reviews and lock them until the game is actually out as it's really not fair on the devs, and it will hurt the players as the community will be smaller as a result.

4 hours until the supposed release time. And more 30 until the download is complete for me :p

For those you "pre-loaded" on PS4, what characters can you play before the game is fully downloaded? Only Scorpion and Sub-Zero, right?

I'm reading some of these reviews on Steam and wtf. Even though I'm a console gamer mostly these days, as a PC gamer this annoys the crap out of me. Do they refuse to test games anymore? This reminds me of BF4's launch issues. How do you get a game out of the door completely broken?

Any reviews for PC right now shouldn't copy/paste their console counter-parts. They should give this a "Broken" award.

PC players should have really done their homework on this one. While it does seem like a Steam issue, I don't trust NRS with their PC ports. MK9 had broken online and Injustice had a nasty slowdown bug that if you raised the specs higher than the 360/PS3 equivelent specs, the engine would run too fast and the rendering couldn't keep up.

Both of these issues never received patches either. When it comes to multiplatform releases, I almost always choose PC, but with NRS, I go console since they continue to use High Voltage even after two bad ports.

Nah, WB and NRS should be hit for joining in on Steam's untested project with High Voltage Software. If WB wants to keep outsourcing to HVS, they deserve whatever ~$50-60 sales they lose.

Has anyone been able to get the cross-platform unlocks to work with the mobile game? It shows that I'm logged in with my WB ID on both my iPad and PS4, but it hasn't unlocked anything.

Nobody's been able to get the faction servers to work, right? Is it bogged down because it's cross-platform and all the computer people are spending all of their time in that mode? :p

Also, I've only played one online match but I didn't notice any lag and I found it immediately (opposed to MK9 which I distinctly remember took freaking forever). PSN with a LAN connection.

I did my research and the only problems that popped up through reviews and impressions was that the online was a bit worse than then terrible online on Ps3 and 360. I haven't had any problems with Injustice personally.

I do not particularly like High Voltage but I'm going to give them the benefit of doubt on this one until we can actually play the game. So far the only screw up is that parts of the game was available before release (Not that I think this stream thing is a good idea at all).

At around the 36 minute mark, the host of the Team Coco stream asks Ed Boon to do the Scorpion voice. I was pretty bummed about having to wait for the rest of the preload on PC and all the DLC and netcode anti-hype the game is getting around here, but this cheered me up a little.

As someone who hasn't ever really played MK(I'm a SF guy!), but is seriously considering buying this next month after watching the Giant Bomb Quick Look, how does it play with a controller?

Assuming it's as good as MK9, it should play really well with a controller.

No QCF moves make MK very playable with a controller.

They unlock as more of the download is complete

Extremely frustrating having to await Amazon Logistics - which are a useless courier. I *HATE* when Amazon pick up excluive rights to an edition, as you have to suffer their awful delivery service. :-/

I really dig my little white lotus insignia on my playercard. Had to do some stuff earlier, spent 5 minutes in the tut.

Game's gorgeous, YT and streams did it zero justice.

Anyone get the game at Target with the 10 dollar kombat pass? Is the pass a separate item or is it on the receipt? How does it work exactly?

So how is the online play this time around? The online mode really makes or breaks these games for me. Honestly, I haven't played a fighting game with as good as an online mode as Dead or Alive 4 on the 360. Lobbies with queued players and spectating are a requirement for me.

I loved MK9 to death but the online mode wasn't the greatest. I'm a little hesitant.

Came to post this. I hadn't played an MK game in a long time before picking this up on Xbox One last night. I was worried that I would have to get a converter for my 360 fight sick or buy a new one, but the game is VERY responsive with a standard controller. It almost seems like it was designed with a controller in mind, as opposed to Street Fighter and others that were obviously meant to have a stick.

Also, I REALLY like the game. The timing windows aren't a frame or two, which means better accessibility and more focus on using combos rather than pinpoint accuracy in inputting them. Very happy.
