Winner: Disney.
I have foreseen it.lol
Dude. Why?
These are my predictions.
- Avengers 2 will be #1 Foreign and WW for 2015
- Force Awakens will be #1 Domestic for 2015
- Both will pass 1 billion
- Neither will reach 2 Billion (if they do, well Holy Shit) but Avengers 2 will get closest to it
- Force Awakens will have the highest RT
YupWinner: Disney.
My moneys on Star Wars.
People had a good Avengers movie recently.
People have not had a good Star Wars Movie since Jedi.
What makes you think this one'll be good? XP
1. Avengers.
2. Star Wars.
3. Star Wars.
4. Nope
5. Star Wars.
Star wars has more hype at this point but Avengers draws a bigger audience.

Spoiler:everyone's a star wars fan ;-)
No, they're really not. Avengers will get the Furious 7 crowd plus the comic book crowd. Star Wars hasn't been relevant since the 70's.
I'm changing my bet.
At this point I believe Star Wars is going to be #1 in sales. It's been years since we've had a Star Wars film and it opens up in December. What else opened up in December? Avatar.
However, as good as the trailer looks I put my trust in Whedon over JJ in terms of a quality film. The Avengers looked like a disaster and yet it resonated with fans a lot more and it somehow beat The Dark Knight Rises, a film every Nolan diehard were betting their lives that it will gross more and be the better film entirely. JJ has never made a great film. Super 8 was trying to be E.T but it goes into schlock second half. Star Trek is a fun action but not a great Star Trek movie. Into Darkness was boring. The greatest thing JJ has done was co-create Lost (have not seen MI:III).
Some guy over on Reddit claims to have seen Age of Ultron and says it's surprisingly bad. Take it with a grain of salt obviously, but thought it was an interesting read.

1. Reddit, c'mon
2. I agree with one of the top comments, it reads like it was meant to tick all the Reddit checkboxes
Star Wars is going to crush everything. We're going back to 1977 levels of hype with this one.

Uh...1980 would be more appropriate.
1977 it was a complete unknown

So much this.Star Wars. It's going to be the nostalgia factor that brings EVERYONE in.
Earning that junior tag
Side note: do you think either of these will top Furious 7?

Yes, I know. But F7 is doing insanely well and, if it hasn't already grossed over $1 billion, is on track to do it more quickly than The Avengers.LOOOOOOOOOL

Meanwhile, the last Star Wars films didn't even outpace their contemporary Spider-Man competitors.
If Age of Ultron makes more money INTERNATIONALLY and gets a better Tomato score.. then you can ban me
Decided to see how things were looking over at BoxOffice.com forums. Consensus there now seems that without question it will be topping Avengers, and it even has a decent chance to surpass Avatar as the #1 grossing movie domestically (not worldwide of course). In terms of domestic, the baseline there seems to be at least 600 mil now, many in the 700 mil range.
I am thinking about 760 mil domestic for Star Wars now, 2.2 bill worldwide.
