I know I'm going to get crucified for this thread, but I can't resist.
Both are charming, beefy guys with a comedic background who got in great shape to anchor a major smash-hit franchise. Both did so by basically imitating Harrison Ford, but with a more comedic, self-aware, non-threatening sensibility which endeared them to audiences.
Pratt:
Fraser:
Now this isn't really a negative comparison, I actually really love the first Mummy movie, and I think Brendan Fraser is a decent actor. He's great in the Quiet American. But he certainly doesn't have the same kind of mega-star icon quality that Harrison does.
In light of all the Pratt-as-Indiana-Jones talk, I ended up watching the Force Awakens teaser and the Jurassic World teaser back to back. Pratt's a fun screen presence, but he's not Harrison Ford. He is to big movies what Jimmy Fallon is to late night TV. A little bland and overly nostalgic, but too good-natured to really root against.
