Someone may have already answered this, but physical copies of the game come with the soundtrack(which is awesome).

Oh man, that is awesome. More games should do this, that is, if they have great soundtracks...

A MANUAL! I think I might buy a physical copy even though I have it on GoG already.
Last game that gave me a manual was PuyoPuyo Tetris, but it was in Japanese
I felt like I was in a Twilight Zone episode...

If you order from Amazon you get 48 page hardcover comic in addition to those things.

PCs have definitely come a long way. I just have a hard time keeping up with them. Glad it's gotten easier with time, but it still seems cumbersome. Everyone has their preference. Not taking shots.

I recently got a dedicated PC tower. I7 3770, 16 gb, gtx 960. I got this solely for CSGO. I just like that I can load up my game on xbox and not have to think about updating drivers, tweaking settings and the like. Like I said, I just prefer the simplicity even if I have to take a hit in resolution or framerate. That's always been my knock against PCs. There is an infinite combination out there and the game can't be optimized for all of them like they are for consoles.

Every time I pop up on my Xbox I get constant updates and patches for games too, I wouldn't call this simplicity. What's difficult about letting geforce experience handling your settings since you have an nvidia card and don't want to mess with it?

I never got round to playing Wither 2 on my 360, but this is really grabbing my attention and am very much considering it for the ps4.

Couple of questions though;

1) Am i really going to struggle with the story having not played the previous 2?

2) What's the mix of environments like. All the video's I've seen show big outdoor environments. Don't get me wrong, looks great, but are there things like caves to explore, a la Skyrim?

Is it confirmed 100% that RETAIL PS4 comes with soundtrack and manual in EU/UK?
Yep every copy of the game comes with all this stuff

No. But here is some material if you want to know what happened in W1 and W2. Take note that W3 will also focus on characters that were more present in books [City and Yennefer].

I've only got the Steam version ordered. If anyone with a spare physical copy doesn't mind parting with their extra printed world map (which is included in the box with physical copies right?), I don't mind parting with a small amount of cash/equivalent Steam/other store credit...

Weird that they would send out only PS4 copies for review, at least intially, I would have figured PC. They must be confident in that version at the very least.

Lot of potential issues with sending PC copies to non-PC dedicated sites. Hardware issues, software issues...basically the stuff that helps make consoles popular in the first place.

That said I now (as of yesterday) have a GTX 980 mostly for this, so bring on more PC media lol.

Just out of curiosity, what did your canonical W2 worldstate look like? Did you approach it in terms of "what would book-Geralt do" or...?

Let Arian live -> Iorveth -> Prevented Stennis lynching -> Saved Phillipa -> Freed Saskia -> Let Letho go

Havent read the books, so just played as I see Geralt.

The standard versions of the Witcher games always come with nice extra stuff.

Ironically enough to be considered CE's themselves by some publishers.

PSN for me. Releases early, on the 18th.

I'd take digital versions of the soundtrack and compendium, but I just don't feel compelled by a disc soundtrack or stickers and such. I'm all digital and would rather have the game several hours sooner than break for those items, but it's certainly one of the better physical runs.

I doubt they are only sending out PS4 versions. Its likely a case where reviewers can pick whatever version they want.

Tinfoil theorist in me says that they don't want send out PC copies to be reviewed so some not so upstanding reviewer doesn't get temptation to .torrent DRM free game.

I just assume PS4 is the best safe way to guarantee there's no setup or performance issues that are out of CDPR's hands for reviewers, but that all versions are likely doing just fine and PS4 is simply a totally known outcome in performance for an initial content review.

"Releases early on the 18th" Is that a promo that Sony/MS are doing for the digital version?

Is it not releasing at midnight worldwide (meaning the first second of the 19th) like so many other games?

Said no refunds in the description, if I remember correctly.

I'd prefer to stick with a digital copy anyways. I'll get the soundtrack later.

There will be other ways to get OST, I bet they start selling it as physical and digital sooner than later.

Really keeping that console footage under wraps huh?

Don't you with this transparency applied to every platform version.

2+ weeks from release and if they start pushing marketing material for consoles [read: console footage] like they have done for PC there will be hours of that stuff by game is out.
