Oh absolutely and Kojima knows that the best he can do is frame this ridiculous shit against a backdrop of drama and philosophy 101. It makes for a surprisingly entertaining package though when you don't take the serious stuff too seriously.

It's partly why I can't really play MGS4 as often as the others. There's not enough ridiculous shit to offset the three hour cut scenes you have to watch to get anywhere. I should really just make a save at the last area so I can just replay that stellar last boss fight ad nauseam.

Creation of these kind of things require expertise, just as wooden carvings or plastic models.

lol, yes they're can't possibly be a reason why she's treated like a prisoner. Surely not because of something that happened previously in the game. That would be preposterous.

The prototype was probably designed in a 3D program like ZBrush. Then made in clay and casted in resin. And then at some point a PVC prototype made. Through some magic, a mold is created, the parts casted, assembled in most likely China, and painted and packaged.

EDIT: Soft part made from a different material than PVC of course.

Soft part is different material. So are there holes in the pvc part en then the softer material comes through or is the softer material attached on the pvc through heat?

It seems pretty seemless. though you can see a transition.

Are you saying a "vagina bomb" can literally never be used unless they've reached some abstract 'right' from certain consumers to tell that story? What if it was in her butt? What if it was in a man's butt? Did it make sense based on the depravity of Skullface? It's sick but that doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. Not everything has to be sanitized for maximum comfort. It's meant to be fucked up and it is. Some players will react the proper way and seek vengeance on the characters in the game, others will take it up with the developers of the game (I think this is utterly loony but whatever, social media provides the vehicle...)

A story about suicidal child soldiers is something worth telling. However it shouldn't be told in a game that instead uses it for cheap shock-value in-between its jokes about silly box decals and guards who need to go poop really badly. It'd be like the next Michael Bay Transformers movie having a subplot about sexual assault in the military. And I doubt anyone critically thinking about this is viewing that and thinking "THAT SKULLFACE! I'M GONNA GET HIM FOR WHAT HE DID!" but is instead realizing that every line, every story turn, every decision made is done so by the developers. It's up to the developers to defend those decisions, not a fictional character.

I feel like no matter what the reasoning are, there'll still be enough loose ends for the story to say "it could've been done differently." And that will be all that's needed.

Especially since Quiet is optional, after all.

To me, I will just accept Quiet as part and parcel of the creative outputs of Kojima, for better or worse.

Gameplay demos show her fighting alongside Snake... taking her as a prisoner temporarily (depriving her of sunlight if the photosynthesis theory is correct) isn't exactly the craziest thing in the world.

I don't know. I could be wrong. Maybe in-context the rationale will be so well thought out that even the naysayers will agree that it makes perfect sense. Or maybe it'll be so silly that even the people that believe so strongly in Kojima's storytelling abilities will concede that this is just fanservice. But the likely outcome? It'll be a wash. The people who think it's silly now before experiencing the full narrative will think the narrative context is also silly. The people who are defending it and saying "In Kojima We Trust" will think that he totally nailed it with whatever explanation he cooked up for it and assure detractors that it totally makes sense in context.
