PT no longer supports Shareplay (and yes, it did work before)

Do not worry GAF, the sooner Konami left the industry the better , they will sell big IPs like pancakes to EA, UBI, Microsf, SONY, SE, Nintendo, etc.

The question is, what is better : A MGS/Silent Hill owned by Microsoft or EA or Sony, etc?

In an scenario like this I wish SE gets them or Sony and Nintendo.

Seeing as how I don't have a PS4 and probably won't by the time any trace of this has been obliterated, are there any good videos of non-intrusive(i.e. someone who doesn't talk over the game) playthroughs?

Why is Konami going through such great lengths to make a thing that people loved not available anymore.

Are they going to try and sell it soon, like...not as in Silent Hills of course, but are they actually going to try and charge money for a "Playable Teaser?"

Doing all this for something allegedly personal (from what I understand) fills my brain with so many fucks I'm going crazy.

I've never gotten to play PT. I "purchased" the game from the web store hoping I'd be able to download it when I bought a PS4, but that dream's gone now.

I like how a reasonable explanation for this was provided on the first page and yet the knee-jerk outrage continues.
It would be interesting to know if anyone SP'd it after it was removed from the store, so we could determine if there is a direct connection or if Konami are just being Konami.

Either way though, this is disappointing, because a lot of people who had never played it were hoping to use this system feature to do so.

They're not going to sell any IPs. Unless they're near insolvency any corporation would rather sit on its IPs and do nothing with them than sell them off.

Its the small IPs that I love in Konami library: the Gradius, Parodius, Goemon, Sparkster, Hudson stuff...

At best they will end up as pachinko skins. We will never see them again.

I hope hackers still have access to the game years from now so it can be preserved through emulation after Konami decides to wipe it from everyone's PS4s.

So my friend who works at konami (wont reveal name due to konami ninjas) basically said the share play removal happened when basically Konami removed the game from their servers. a code was pushed at the same time to disable it from existing consoles.

He also told me (take with a grain of salt just in case) that konami has the ability to push an invisible patch/code to disable it completely from any consoles.

Welp. I guess it could get worse than that. Konami could send someone over to your house and burn it down.

Konami is an asshat atm but they're the scum of the universe if they would ever try to touch my PS4 with any kind of codes. Lawsuit incoming from me for sure. Euro and Australia don't take kindly to customer product violation either.

Regardless of whether or not anyone at Konami has said this, I believe it. Microsoft routinely did this with betas. If you have some really old ones on your 360 they probably just have a yellow warning sign for an icon now and can't be launched. They did it when the Mass Effect 3 beta accidentally became available to dashboard beta testers after a couple of hours.

I imagine Sony has the exact same ability on their system and if a publisher tells them to pull the plug they will.

Not that I support anything that is happening here (it's complete shit), this being a demo makes this stuff a lot more realistic. A la disabling betas after they have finished.

I don't know if a lawsuit would be possible if is a demo? Curious how that would play out in court...
