I like seeing weird and different interpretations of characters, so I've always been all for it. Jokers a psychopathic attention whore. It's not that much of a stretch to me to see a Joker who wants to be a douchey rock star.

Yes? Getting your own mouth tattooed on your arm is always going to look dumber then wearing a jacket with some question marks on it. And wearing a jacket with question marks all over it is already pretty dumb. That's why most iterations of Riddler don't over do it and only give him one or two.

Meh. I don't mind a weird or zany Joker, though the tattoos are still an unfortunate move. You can already get a good feel for how Leto is going to play the Joker in the leaked set footage. It's not bad but there's a distinct lack of menace we saw with Nicholson and Ledger. I feel a lot of it's going to come down to the direction to sell it in a way that doesn't feel outright stupid.

You'll notice that he's got some impressive dental work going on, probably as the result of trying to go toe to toe with the goddamn Batman. He doesn't really have to be a physical threat.

The joker has never really been a phsysical threat that can go toe to toe with batman. Almost always a mental one.
