i'm guessing it's just in one part of the game during a story mission. similar to that weird ass b/w level in FO3
That's my guess too. Probably during selected story missions rather than anytime/anywhere.

I can't imagine the swapping is extensive.
They would have had to done essentially two separate games for that to work.
Maybe you're right. Terminator 3?They would retcon it don't worry.
What? Few games feel more alive than Oblivion/Skyrim. Radiant AI despite its shortcomings made the world feel like a real place. NPC's eating, sleeping, playing, hunting, farming, visiting friends in other towns, stealing, fighting, etc.
It all felt very organic and dynamic.
Only game to touch it in that category has been the Wild Hunt. Fable came close to feeling as organic, but interaction with the world was too low.
Here's hoping they do another Collector's Edition like Fallout 3, which was the best CE Bethesda ever did and one of the best CE's in recent memory.
Pipboy Bobblehead is here on my desk agreeing with me.
The motivations and details that are left out in that description barely explain anything adequately and for every leaky explanation there is, there's yet another really crippling plothole that sinks the whole thing again. Was that summary of F3 written by someone who hadn't actually played the game, but instead had had some of it's plot described to him while off his tits on ale?
Not surprisingly, if you leave out most of the details, explanations, characters and their motivations, as well as omiting huge chunks of plot, then yeah, shockingly it doesn't sound very good or sensical.
The original ending was bollocks mind. But that got nicely fixed, so who cares?
The way you're describing them actually makes them sound much more rad than they were.it'll probably be main story centric or for really short instances. Similar to how the baldur's/oblivion gates in Oblivion worked. Where they were a nice little distraction that fucking ruined the world because your beautiful vibrant peaceful world would turn into the beginning of a heavy metal video each time you were nearby.
Seriously fuck those gates.
This hype makes me want to try the series.
Are 3 and NV as broken on PS3 as Skyrim was?
That's my guess too. Probably during selected story missions rather than anytime/anywhere.
Am I the only on who thinks that the colours are a touch too saturated and vibrant? I hope that's mostly relegated to the pre-war flash backs.
I like to know how long is Fallout NV?

Fallout 3 was fine until you start adding the DLC packs, then it gets bad. And its 720p with no AA, so it doesn't look pretty either.
That is not something I think about any videogame. Certainly not Fallout. My word.
Thank you. With DLC it can be over a hundred hours if you dont just follow the critical path.
that is ungodly short
What about the GOTY edition? Heard it was alot worse on ps3.
Though that was years ago.
30 hours is just following the main story.

First reveal? PC. Always PC.

i agree but thats how that website is set-up.don't play Bethesda games on PS3. better off with 360 at least.
so critical path? no one should ever play that way
Don't know if this was posted but
so critical path? no one should ever play that way
i only played FO3, i have NV but never got around to it.
Pretty much. The base game is self-contained but all of the DLC add so much in-terms of back story and filling in lore gaps all of the DLC are pretty much essential imo.Recommended indeed. Dead Money and Old World Blues are fucking INCREDIBLE
Is it true they removed the character creator?
I don´t care too much about S.P.E.C.I.A.L but removing character creation feels like someone just kicked me in the balls.
I haven't got far either in NV, should play it soon, since I own the PC ulimate edition. I hear it has better writing than 3 does.
One of my favorite collectors editions I got, didn't even have to pre-order it. It was a reasonable price as far as CE go too. With Fallout 4 I hope they do another bobble head, but better quality. Here's hoping they do another Collector's Edition like Fallout 3, which was the best CE Bethesda ever did and one of the best CE's in recent memory.

I never got that far into F3's main story, is it really this bad and nonsensical?

I'm in total disbelief right now. Rushed home from work eagerly expecting to watch the new Fallout trailer with a drink on my hand.
I can't believe what I'm witnessing. God awful graphics and animations. I waited years for this!? The dog makes me want to puke. Look at those textures! Even the COD dog looks better. I'm no graphics whore but you can't tell me gaming is just gameplay. It is a combo of visuals and mechanics to create something. Looks like it missed one of those marks.
There's something ironic and a bit stupid about complaining about "graphic whores". If graphics don't mean much to you, then why should it bother you if someone criticises them?
I wouldn't be a fan of that. I read that you apparently cannot chose to be a female in the main story. The way it was worded made it seem like there might be a secondary option for you to play a character you get to fully create, but the main story makes you play as a set character.
There was no real way to source it though, so it doesn't really mean anything.
No vanilla Fallout game has looked as good as this. Fact.
It's probably the worst writing written by Bethesda.I really don't remember the story being that bad. When it's laid out there though, that's some atrocious writing right there.
Recommended indeed. Dead Money and Old World Blues are fucking INCREDIBLE
Well,i hope it´s not true.
