Still without luck
ya know, i'm not into that 111 on the back of the wanderers jumpsuit. There's sort of an unnecessary style added to the number that doesn't quite mesh with the idea that these vaults were made in a factory.

The time switch thing has to be bullshit conjecture based on the trailer. There is no way they would essentially make 2 huge open worlds and have one be completely optional.

Maybe in some specific, carefully controlled, missions but not the entire world.

What if you pressed 1 and were standing in the place that a dressor fell in the apocalyptic version? Even if they waisted the massive man hours creating two worlds, the collision system needed to allow for a seemless change between the two is beyond belief.

Rewatching the trailer the house Dog is in has a fence, so you probably can't leave in past mode. You'll probably only be able to switch in quest/hub areas. Predefined.

I couldn't care less about the graphics.

Just make the world more interesting and dense than Fallout 3.

I mean, I LOVED Fallout 3 but there was so much wasted space. There were also many repetitive parts. Pretty much all of the underground areas were boring and don't even get me started on the travesty that was the subway.

That looked really, really bad. Obviously developed with current gen as a focus and not PC.

I'll be playing on PC as well, but you can't honestly expect them to only focus on the PC version, right? They have to run on current gen machines. I don't get why you're upset at this.

It looks good to me, and I'm typically very shallow when it comes to graphics.

At least were seeing the real game, not something super polished that gets downgraded later like many other games.

Given how Nelson couldn't shut up about hinting towards this, since asked what conference he is looking most forward to @ E3, I will be getting this on PC and on PS4 after the timed DLC is all done with, since it'll most likely be a console thing. BTW, I own NV and FO3 on both PC and PS3, with a similar action taken when they were released.

Also, the graphics are not the best, but there are noticeable improvements none-the-less. You just gotta look, lol.

Trailer was OK, I guess. I've never much cared for the forced retro aesthetic of Fallout, and Bethesda's writing is always bottom-tier... it all depends on how interesting the gameplay is.

Bethesda. Bethesda never changes.

Well, I'm excited, but I will wait for the GOTY edition, unofficial patches, and texture packs (I hope NMC and Vurt do some) before I buy.

I like all the NV DLC over any of the 3 DLC. Point Lookout is on the level though

Is Point Lookout that good? I played the other 3 DLC and wasn't impressed (OA felt like COD, Mothership Zeta had its moments, but kept crashing on me, and The Pitt was just forgettable) and heard that you needed to be a high level (20+) to handle Point Lookout, but by that time I just wanted the game to be over...

I really hope the DLC is better this time around (I loved NV's DLC, but that was Obsidian so I'm not expecting anything of that quality).

A fair point. Bethesda can consider my expectations thoroughly in check, and with an eye towards gameplay improvements in the weeks and months ahead.

I must say it is really sad that people are so obsessed with graphics. I am not saying they don't matter. They matter to an extent, but some people really have a very high standard when it comes to it.

I think some people need to be less shallow when it comes to graphics, you will enjoy gaming a lot more trust me.

I am really looking to this game. It has been a while since stepping into a Fallout game.

Graphically it looks shitty. I guess modders will improve it though.
I wish the consoles had better hardware.
That's probably due more to Bethesda not using a good engine and not being able to make a decent looking Fallout game in general, rather than the limitations of the console hardware.

I'm glad that this game apparently isn't cross gen.

That means that the game won't be designed around systems with 512MB of RAM.

Hopefully that means a lot less loading and less limitations when it comes to modding the PC version.

Actually such graphics is perfect for ambiance that the game tries to deliver. We haven't seen any gameplay so judging it based on engine would be pointless.

I wasn't expecting so much outrage over the graphics in here. I don't really mind them but I do admit that that hand animation on the dog was pretty bad.

Woah. This all seems legit, definitely deserves some more attention.

nah

That was posted 11 months ago, in July 2014.

Most of it is based off of this 2013 Kotaku article, with only a couple things changed, such as gender option, and the random DLC schedule plus Naughty Bear people spin-off: http://kotaku.com/leaked-documents-reveal-that-fallout-4-is-real-set-in-1481322956

Unless you have something better to back it up, keep it out of the thread please.

I'm a little shocked by it as well, it's like "here's a thing that I've wanted for years now...but it looks slightly different than I imagined so now I'm pissed". Seems crazy, I'm just glad we're getting a new Fallout game and it actually has some damn color.

It's definitely you...it always looked good.

no i already thought it looked good but not outstanding but gradually its been growing on me and im appreciating the finer details

for example i can imagine raiders or a super mutant or a deathclaw in the background of this scene and i think itd look fantastic

It's not the best looking graphic, but this is Bethesda we are talking about.

Oblivion was at one point unmatched in graphics in 2006, it set a new bar. So we can't really say Bethesda is known for terrible graphics. Morrowind too had some amazing looking water for its time.

This was incredible for 2006

For me the disappointment about the use of the same old engine is not so much about the quality of the graphics, or lack of thereof, but knowing that it is a buggy piece of crap.

Man, when did everybody else get so cynical, or am I just suddenly old?
My first system was the NES.

Everybody in here is like "It looks so dated!"
I was like "It looks so much better than New Vegas, oh my god! This is amazing!"

Except the final shot. Though that's more of an art direction and tradition thing than a graphical issue.
That blue Vault jumpsuit looks pretty silly.

My complaint isn't that the graphics aren't spectacular..its the game just looks exactly like Fallout 3. If you arent gonna do anything really new or interesting..then at least make it fallout with amazing visuals...instead im confused as to why people are falling over themselves from this video

nostalgia? the brand name?

it just looks meh to me..like i played this game before.

I'm going off only what i see so far in the trailer.
