After spending a lot of time on this, I've finally completed the hype train pic for my fellow gaffers.

Choo choo on gaf, choo choo on.

Yoooo if you do a update, can you add me on there? :)

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
This post makes me want to install and play Fallout 3 with mods, but I don't want to get burned out as the sequel is coming this year.

I have a few phenomenal mods bookmarked.

Are those mods to make the game actually look like its 200 years later?

I'm hoping to see a more morally neutral, tech-obsessed Brotherhood of Steel in this one. It would be nice to see a Fallout game in which they aren't the de facto "good guys", but rather a force in the world with their own goals that may align with or go against the player's.

Yeah, it'd be better than the outright isolation approach that Fallout NV took. Still, their prominence in the trailer leads me to believe it's the crusader types from 3.

So Fallout 1 and 2?

Great work man.

Add me when you get time!

In motion the lighting looks so much better than Fallout 3/NV its not even funny. Is there a gif of the vertibird taking off behind the Revere statue with the lightning flashes?

this game is gonna feel gorgeous when it rains

imagine being out in the wasteland when its dark and raining

you hear sky crackling

you see a hulking mirelurk silhouette and in the lightning you see it in detail with raindrops splashing off of its shell mmmmmmm

How the hell does that look bad? Oh wait, it doesn't.
- "Why people here are so focused on the graphics?"
- Makes snarky comment about the graphics
- People get hot and bothered and start to focus on them

If they do have switching between past and present then I can definitely be happy with how it currently looks cause texturing everything twice sounds like a lot of work.

LOL. The thread has been messy from the jump. I just wanted to chime in again and say that I don't get the outrage. It is an obvious leap and looks great. I'm am willing to bet many will change their tune once we see some quality gameplay.

Still...I doubt gaf will scream "OMG upgrade!!" when the final release turns out to look better.

It looks below average for 2015 I'd say. I don't have a problem with it though. All I care about is maxing it out on PC.

I never expected it to set some standard, but it certainly looks plenty good for a current-gen open world game. A hell of a lot nicer than Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim as well. I'm just not sure what people were realistically expecting.

Yeah, that shot is a quantum leap over the previous games.
Yeah that particular scene looks amazing. Though one thing that I'm worried about that doesn't concern graphics is load times between doors, hopefully they aren't too bad since there seem to be a ton of enclosed spaces in the shown cities /towns. I've been spoiled now with nonexistent loading screens in the Witcher 3 (not including initial load or loading after death).

It would be nice if they cut down on the load times for sure. Can't wait to see what all improvements they have made other than the visuals.

Honestly, I don't think we're going to see loading screens when going inside. Todd has mentioned that specifically as an advantage to current gen consoles before, and that first scene with the dog entering the house through the open door (with transparent windows no less!) seems like a hint at that to me.

v This guy gets it.

DUUUUDEEEEEE I just notice that when the dog gets out of the house both the interior and exterior are connected! Which could possibly mean no more loading while entering and leaving locations. Man if this ends up happening that right there make this games a freaking winner.

It got pretty fucking dark at night in Fallout 3/New Vegas, compared to most games. I hope they keep the tradition or possibly even darker.

I agree. A lot of the reveal in the trailer is way too bright. I really enjoyed the dark desolate post-apocalyptic wasteland of Fallout 3 and stumbling across broken bottles and radiated fire hydrants.

Bethesda + Quality Gameplay? =P

At least the exploration will be fun and I like that they are making the game more colorfull yet still with the lingering feeling of dread instead of those messy browns and ugly filters they used in 3 and New Vegas...

Anyway:

I don't know why I will do this to myself T_T, only played like 50 hours of Fallout 3 and never opened New Vegas before gifting them... Oh well, better late than never =P

Hopefully I can finish Mass Effect

These guys;

I'm almost positive they're super mutants, and one looks like he's wearing some kind of armor. Looks like they have a camp nearby (similar to the one near the Jefferson Memorial or in the National Mall).

Oh shit. When I first saw the trailer I assumed they were just brotherhood of steel dudes

Oh wow good catch. If this does end up being the case then I don't even know, that would be incredible.

I actually just re bought fallout new Vegas (never beat it). I'm going at a slower pace and am actually enjoying the game a lot more this time.

I want this dark, any darker and it becomes too bothersome to me. I get people want immersion, having to wear goggles and such, but most people don't want that.

There's a light built into your pipboy, though.

Pick up the companions where you can, they've got some interesting storylines.
