Oh and I just want to know if there is anything from Rockstar and/or in terms of 3rd Person Open World games like Mafia, LA Noire, GTA... please just tell me if I can get excited.

There have been mumblings that RockStar may have something, no concrete news though.

Come on guys. Dark Souls III, Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, Fallout 4 and even more, all before it even starts. It's already better than last year.

I want the last guardian to open the show. Star with a bang.
No no. It must be the closer.

Shu comes on stage: "We have one more thing to show you."

*lights dim, trailer shows*

*release date is seen at the end of the trailer*

*lights turn back on*

Shu is there, grinning like a kid in a candy shop. He bows, doesn't say anything else, walks off the stage. Conference over.

Biggest mic drop in the history of E3.

Literally none of these but Animal Crossing will happen. Maybe Pokken.

I've since updated it with more detailed and rational predictions.

Ahem.

My under-educated, solely based off irrational hype, predictions for Nintendo at E3 2015

- Mario Galaxy port and/or spinoff for the n3DS

- New 3D Mario announced for WiiU, will feature seamless online co-op. Made in the vein of SM64 and Sunshine and will feature large worlds and levels and the be the 5th official EAD-developed game made by Nintendo to feature full camera control since the Gamecube era.

-3D Donkey Kong Platformer for WiiU

-2D Metroid for 3DS

-Star fox will be awesome, will be developed by Namco Bandai, and will blow a lot of people away. Will have a deeper-than-expected online component on the scale of of Halo or Battlefield and will add a strategic new element to the standard online TPS experience. The main mode will feature 2 bases and players will attempt to infiltrate the enemy team's base to plant a bomb or something ala a gamepad controlled robot that can be dropped by the Arwing? Actually IDK but there will be a twist. Players will also have the ability to play online with one other local player using the Gamepad. Arwings, tanks, and warthogs or whatever will be pilotable by the players and will all have a co-pilot seat with controllable turrets, cannons etc.

-Nintendo x Capcom for WiiU and 3DS and yeah Ryu announced for Smash.

-New Mario Kart DLC announced. Will finallly add to the game a proper battlemode and will launch with 4 maps (block city being one, the others being really thought-out, well-designed, and balanced) Squid girl, Squid Boy and an Inkopolis track will also be included.

- Splatoon DLC announced: Larger maps, more guns, more single-player levels.-

- Twilight Princess remastered WiiU. Cuts A LOT of the filler found in the original game (dat fucking tutorial, dream drop collecting), features vastly more enemies and enemy outposts throughout the fields of Hyrule and adds more story-centric, epic-scaled battles as featured in the original trailer.

- Pokken officially announced for WiiU, is playable at E3, is awesome and will feature Amiibo capability in the way of stages (hyrule, mushroom kingdom, etc) and/or Pokemon skins or hats or whatever.

- 3D Metroid. Platinum co-developing with Retro. Platinum is tasked with developing the combat system while Retro handles the art, puzzle-solving, story and world development.

- Monster Hunter RPG to be n3DS exclusive and really awesome looking. Will release in November.

- Monster Hunter 4 announced for WiiU, cross-save and cross-play compatible with the 3DS version.

- Mario Maker will have a more extensive than expected feature set that will really hype Nintendo fans.

- Animal Crossing WiiU announced. Heavily integrated online components, will be compatible with the home creator game on the 3DS. Will be the most feature-rich, customizable Animal Crossing to date. Users will be able to craft their towns more freely and easier than ever. Ie being able to create lakes, rivers, hills, tall multi-leveled buildings etc.

EDIT: Dammit I can't contain my irrational hype, heres more:

- A platinum developed character action game featuring Impa and Shiek (Zelda) that takes place in the 7 years of Link's absence from Hyrule in OoT. Will feature deep combat mechanics as well as a large emphasis on stealth as the players are faced with infiltrating Gandondorf's lairs and Gerudo-controlled temples etc. Game will be designed around Co-op play with both Off-tv play split-screen as well as featuring a well-integrated online component.

- Nintendo's new loyalty program will be outlined for the WiiU and 3DS and will also be planned to continue on to the NX. Will feature some sort of rental/refund program ala Steam. Consumers will also be able to rack up points/stars/coins/whatever by purchasing games, rating and filling out surveys etc., and will be able to use said points for discounts of future eshop purchases. The program will roll out by the end of the year.

-Despite what they said, Nintendo will show Zelda and will release a new trailer. Will feature some type of Co-op gameplay.

- A Skylanders/Disney Infinity type game will be released for the WiiU (with a less feature-rich, spinoff game for the 3DS). It will be compatible with all released Amiibos and will serve as a highly-customizable world/scenario creator in the Nintendo Universe (actually, yeah, that will be the name: Nintendo Universe). It will feature locales such as Hyrule, Mushroom Kingdom, Corneria, Zebes, Kong Island, Animal Crossing Village, Dreamland, etc. and allow players to mix and match their favorite Nintendo characters in CarAaZZzy scenarios created by the player.

- NX will not be mentioned, save for Nintendo announcing their plans to support it with their new loyalty program, as well as a little tease by Iwata suggesting that we will be able to enjoy all of our favorite WiiU and 3DS purchases on the next iteration of hardware. (Ok even if this is true, I can see it being highly unlikely as it would be a bad marketing move that would likely hamper future sales of the WiiU/3DS, but on the other hand it might strengthen consumer confidence being that they can still feel comfortable in investing now in eShop purchases while knowing that these games will continue to be playable and relevant going into the next-gen.... goddamit well this is my completely irrational fantasy so leave me alone!)

- Eternal Darkness announced for WiiU.

- ZombiU2 announced, published by Nintendo. Will have a more in-depth campaign, takes place in Tokyo, and will have a more fleshed out multiplayer mode. Also...hmmm...yes it will have online multiplayer and co-op.

- Shortly after E3, in a Direct not focused on games, or pehaps in an investor meeting, Nintendo will announce plans to expand their IPs into movies and televison. Splatoon, Pikmin, and Kid Icarus animated series planned and will be exclusive on Netflix.

- The Legend of Zelda will also be announced as a CGI short series in the vein of Clone Wars, and will re-tell the story of Ocarina of Time with more a more complex story and well-developed characters. Link, Saria, and Mallo will be featured in the main story-line as they embark on a journey across Hyrule looking to find the root cause of their beloved Kokiri forest slowly dying and being over-run by monsters. Another storyline will follow Impa and Zelda as they visit the great ancient races like the Gorons and the Zoras and beg for their assistance for a great war that is expected (by Impa's prophetic dreams or ancient texts or something) with the Gerudos, and more specifically the dark lord Ganondorf. Gandondorf would be supressing his true power and dark magic as he prepared for this invasion and would initially be seen charasmatically winning over the influence of the King of Hyrule and leaders of other great cities (they would have to develop more cities than just the Castletown of Hyrule and Kakario Village lol) After a futile attempt in convincing the King that Ganondorf has dark intents, Impa would realize the danger the Princess is in, "kidnap" her and disguise her as her Shiekah padawan, Shiek, as they ventured across the world. Impa would have a difficult time convincing human kings, and the leader of the Gorons, as to the true threat to peace that is at stake and would be faced with the uphhill battle of convincing them of his dark intentions. Gorons would be depicted as a wise, ascended race which have long ago rose above the human-like tendencies and lust for war. The Goron sage would atleast contend that a war is imminent (a prospect she was unable to convince of the many Kings and leaders of other human cities) but would find no reason to intervene as he would see it as a crucial and natural step in the divine process laid out by the godesses in which humans might one day ascend. "The Gorons too," he would say, "have long ago faced these same wars and struggles and had found peace amongst the gods as a result. The gods have a plan for the humans as well and it is not the place of the Gorons to intervene. A chickling must hatch from her egg by her own strength if she ever expects to be strong enough to live its new life etc. etc." The war, Impa would helplessly try to persuade him, is not a normal one provoked by two human factions, but instead a larger-scale war led by a dark mage conspiring to overtake the Goddesses and threaten the peace of the world (or the balance of the triforce? In my head I feel like the story would be better without the triforce? Or atleast without it having a well-realized place and meaning in the world. Perhaps it could be introduced at the end of the series, but IMO having a story with Link, Ganondorf, and Zelda all possessing one piece of a great power seems like a pretty restricting concept) Without any strong claims to back this up, save for her prophetic dreams, and her mention of a curious plague that has striken the Kokiri forest, Impa and her padawan would leave the cavernous city of Goron without any support and would then embark on a journey across great distances to the far coast in which she would hope to find contact with the fabled, illusive, and mysterious Zora race, of which many are convinced are just a fictitious and made-up part of legends long past. Impa would also be actively training Zelda (Shiek) in the ancient Shikeah arts of battle over the course of their journey and would eventually give rise to Zelda becoming an incredibly skilled assassin/ninja/jedi-knight type Shikah warrior. Other storylines would feature an underground resistance of humans that are planning to overtake the city of Hyrule from the corrupt King of Hyrule (a once great man corrupted by the influence of Gandondorf, or perhaps one of Ganondorfs puppets like a Zant or that creepy dude from Skyward Sword), a band of morally grey Gerudo women and men warrior-thiefs who refuse loyalty to their new leader and are constantly on the run from Ganondorfs forces. Whatever...I think the property and the world has a lot of promise in terms of interesting and engaging stories.

Oh wow...I'm out of control...but still, theres one more.

- Metroid will also be planned as a high-budget CGI series (exclusive on Netflix and available to buy episodes on the eShop for .99) but will feature a twist in which Nintendo and Netflix will experiment with a whole new TV watching-experience, with the ability given to the viewer to make crucial decisions in the middle of each episode via the 3DS, WiiU, and/or a mobile app. Multiple branching story-lines will be developed each week so that every new epsiode will vary depending on the choices made by the viewer.

Ok...actually...i think thats it. I... I need a girlfriend :(

- Sequelitis and remake fatigue will hit an all-time high.

- The Last Guardian nowhere to be found.

- That new game Keita Takahashi is collaborating on will probably be cool.

- We might finally see that PS4 Parappa game someone drunkenly mouthed off about 2 years ago?

- Teaser for the new Burnout game.

- The new Tony Hawk game is unveiled. It is somehow even worse than expected from the tidbits of info we've gotten.

- Everyone continues to act like VR is going to be the next big dominant force in gaming, ignoring the fact that like motion controls, games with good implementations will have to be built from the ground-up for the tech + work around its limitations.

- Batman: Arkham Knight gets extensive previews, and continues to be panned in the press for being "more of the same" "too Batmobile focused" and so on.

- Games press follow the lead of tech press, and begin to lash out at the needlessness of E3's existence in a modern landscape where anyone can promote anything they want.

- At least one major journalist uses E3 as the jumping-off point for the furthering of the argument that the modern video game console cycle cannot sustain itself without major changes. (s)he is smeared all over the web by angry, insolent video game man-children.

When was the last time Rockstar acknowledged Agent? At least Sony gave us semi-regular 'its not dead' updates on TLG.

Yeah its weird. The website is still up (with the old ugly PS3 logo) and its still entrenched in the social club... so who knows. If it was still a thing I feel like this is the year it would show up.

(its dead, maybe rockstar just refuses to cancel for some reasons like money)
