You know what'll be really funny?

If, after this gigantic leak and all the raw hype people have about playing as Ryu and Roy, they get announced in the Smash presentation on Sunday... and get release dates of, like, July (Ryu) and September (September).

The more I think about it, the more I feel that's a pretty likely scenario. Why would they blow their entire three-character load in one day? It makes a lot more sense for Nintendo to space these big additions out to get the most mileage out of them. I'm thinking we'll get Dream Land 64, the Inkling Girl trophy, and the new Mii Fighter costumes tomorrow with Lucas and Miiverse, Ryu in July to coincide with Evo, and Roy in September or something.

The salt would be hilarious, but it would also be a kind of poetic equivalent exchange after having everything jumped on and leaked immediately by players.

If I'm correct, and I'm probably not...aren't these for the 3DS version, which doesn't have a Miiverse stage iirc?

Regardless, if they use Rhythym Heaven music for the Miiverse stage, I'm taking that as further evidence that Chorus Kids were definitely gonna be a character.

If I'm understanding things correctly, both the 3DS and Wii U patch data contain directories of every song in Smash Wii U, even if a great many of them aren't actually used in Smash 3DS. If so, the Rhythm Heaven songs being found in the latest 3DS patch wouldn't really mean anything in particular.

I could be completely wrong about this, though.

I get some people being mad about Roy, but I feel like they're going to try and add everyone from past games. Totally won't be surprised if we get Wolf, Ice Climbers, Ivysaur, and Squirtle at this point. Pichu...haha, we'll see! Would be cool for no one to be cut once the DLC is all said and done.

I hope they're adding all the characters from past games if this is their goal. I doubt Ice Climbers will come back, but characters with original styles like Squirtle or Ivysaur should be first on the list to get the remake treatment.

At least Lucina's whole schtick is that she pretends to be Marth for half the game.

Roy should have got a new moveset imo.

I have a feeling they won't both be released tomorrow. But man, it would AMAZING if they did. I want to see those Mega Man/Ryu team-ups. And since I plan on using Ryu, I know at least with you we can have some Capcom wars.

TBF, I don't think they will hold off on things from the ballot until October. I think they'll be continually seeing interest for characters, but it's highly likely that they saw high interest in one character that they think can work and have begun work on that already.

The data was uploaded (with Lucas' data and the accompanying patch) to the Japanese servers early, I guess to prepare for all of the people who are going to be obsessing over the update and the eShop tomorrow. Some players, as they always do, data mined the update to see what was inside and stumbled upon more than they were expecting.

Honestly, this kind of thing probably wouldn't happen if Nintendo released patch notes, but this has become the standard for every update since they refuse to. And this is what happens, Nintendo.
