I'm sorry but i have no excitement at all for TLG, and I don't understand the hype about it. This will not be the 2nd coming of christ, which everyone seems to think. This game is so over hyped so when people always jump in to threads of the "most anticipated/wishlist for E3/Games you look forward to" threads and mention this game I almost get irritated, we know nothing about it(basically) and it's a game that's been in development hell for years.

It will NOT live up to your expectations and you will be "let down"

(This hype is worse than Half-Life 3....)

I know that that trailer music isn't an original composition and won't be in the game...

But....

It has to be in the new trailer. It HAS TO.

I remember when this was just 'Unannounced Sony Exclusive with screenshot of a chain in a well(?)' and 'Trico'

How can you say that with such authority when you know as little about the game as anyone else.

It could just as easily live up to many of our expectations.

I always torture myself each E3, thinking/hoping/expecting to get something...anything regarding "The Last Guardian". Will this year be the year?

...Probably not.

That won't stop me!

Change everything you want, except the creature and the nostalgic mood. Watching those trailers it still moves me for some reason, and I already love the creature's expression and movement. I can only wonder how much I'll grow attached to it in the full game (please don't dieeeee).

I really don't know if I can take another disappointment guys. Really.

At this point, Sony's silence could either be that they see hype growing but knowing they don't have anything to show or announce they can't even speak, like being paralysed by fear or something. Or they do prepared some.

I dunno. Really don't know what's more likely. Do you guys? Do you ? Help me cope with it.

I'm getting ice cream. :'(

Dude, it's a game from a designer that has made two of the best arguments for games being art we have ever seen.

The hype is plenty warranted.

Have you played Ico or Shadow of the Colossus? They're the reason TLG is as hyped as it is.

It will probably live up to many expectations, like a moving story in a magical world. However people are all ready putting it up on a pedestal and treating it like the GOAT game. That is what I don't like, the amount of hype for something that could just as easily be just another game. People need to stop overhyping stuff all the time and be realistic.

It is just a game, a game that have been through development hell, a game from a studio who basically haven't done anything during a whole console generation.

Yes I have and they are amazing. With that said, people usually paint up a perfect picture in their head of what they want the game to be and many therefore will end up dissapointed. I understand that there is hype, ofc, but this amount of hype is never good.

The quality of two games released more than a decade ago doesn't mean much towards the quality of The Last Guardian, though. I find it hard to believe that TGL will not be a good game, but I am not sure if it will be as good as SOTC and as many games released after it.

Not necessarily TLG related but this is the crazy thread so... a SCEA product responsible tweeted something like:

"Oh my. Megaton incoming. Godspeed. #E3"

He later deleted it after he started getting re-tweeted.

It's been so long at this point I wouldn't mind seeing a completely new idea for a game, ditching the boy/griffon companionship concept and just going with something new Ueda came up with. Basically not 'The Last Guardian' at all, but Team ICOs next project. If they had such serious technical issues and the whole concept of the game has been bogged down by years in dev hell, why not something fresh that the team really believes in.

Why do I always feel like this will be the time.. THIS WILL BE THE ONE.

I do this to myself every E3 and TGS for the past 6 years. I long gave up on the dream, but it always seems like there's always some crazy article/rumor storm from a somewhat reputable source promising a Last Guardian appearance the week before the show. Then I come into these threads and all I see is hope... I can't help believe.

Can you tell us what it looks and plays like then? Ueda has quite the track record.

Mr neutral Arthur Gies tweeted "imagine something you have been waiting for years and then when it actually comes and looks the way it does you feel gutted" or something along those lines from what I remember. I hope he was not referring to TLG because my biggest fear is Sony salvaged the project by making it into something that is against the ethos of SOTC and Ico.
