Really enjoyed this conference. Surprised at how much. The new titles all looked solid, and most of all, lots of actual live gameplay demos!

Looks downgradeable.

With the power of the Ubisoft Downgrade Machine™ all games can be downgraded as easily as Control Points to capture can be added via the Ubisoft Game Formula™, ensuring you'll have a great experience in this new game. You're assured of this, because Ubisoft promises not only a great experience, but the exact same experience you've come to expect from a Ubisoft game. Pre-orders for "[Tom Clancy's (if applicable)] Franchise: Subtitle" are open today, offering nearly a dozen different editions, each with their own exclusive content.

Ratings everywhere!

Nintendo World Championship - 9,
Bethesda 8.5,
Microsoft 7.5,
EA 6,
Ubisoft 7.

Fun e3 so far. Ubisoft could've used a bit more variety in games and a singer that can actually sing live.

The usher downgrade jokes killed me. It was worth it just for those

That's only really true for the Tom Clancy games. The new Rainbow Six in particular looked like "The Division: Mexico"

But the other reveals? One is a South Park title, there is a medieval melee focused online game and a racer about crazy tracks

Almost half the games they showed were Tom Clancy games though. Guns are also getting more and more commonplace in the AC series. By 2020, I'm sure they'll just go "fuck it" and set a game in 1991 Persian Gulf or something.

People really rate Bethesda high, I assume it's solely on the strength of 2 or 3 games (Fallout, Dishonored (CG trailer), and maybe Doom, which looked more promising in multiplayer than single, although not terrible). The only other games, not counting remasters, were Elder Scrolls Online and the really bad looking Battlecry.
People came for Doom and Fallout, and they spent a lot of time showing what those games are about. Regardless of what you think of those games (personally I think both looked great), Bethesda delivered on what you would have wanted from a Bethesda conference. A lot of showing with respect to those games, and not overdoing it on the talking side of things.

Seeing all the low scores for these conf., I wonder what will make a conf. A or even B+. Seriously I want to know what will make a conf A or A+? You guys expect too much.

Ghost Recon Wildlands looks AWESOME!!!!! Easily the best thing I saw. And it totally cannibalized The Division. I just lost all interest in that game.

Yup Bethesda spent time showing what gamers wanted... gameplay... Todd Howard is just an awesome guy too so that helps that he previewed fallout 4 for us.

Bethesda: 5/10
Microsoft: 5/10
EA: 4/10
Ubisoft: 5/10

Meh to kinda fine conferences so far, no surprises, no new IPs, more games that look and play the same. Also no new UbiArt game, and BG&E2, where are you....
I swore the last game would be BG&E 2 or POP, when I saw the table and guns, I said Far Cry 5. It kept going, thought it was a new IP, then they said Ghost Recon Wildlands. Forgot about that franchise entirely. I don't think it was a bad conference, Wildands looks good, on the flipside Siege is just not appealing to me at all, in any way..... and I was so hyped for it at reveal too.

Dont worry, it wont be out until 2017 at the earliest. That was all pre-alpha footage.

This e3 is proving to me more than ever that no one wants video games anymore. They want "Experiences".

I think this is more what game makers like to say gamers want than what gamers actually want. I don't know anyone who cares about all this CG or cinematic gameplay, but clearly someone must, because they spend a lot of time and effort on it.

I thought Ghost Recon looked fantastic, really looking forward to that. On the other hand, I'm usually an AC defended but that was hugely underwhelming. I'm with Jeff from Giant Bomb in that I don't understand why they just completely botched the present day story. It feels like the series lacks any forward movement to me in part because of that.

Well it's gonna be March before The Division. I'll prolly just hold out and wait for the cooler looking product.

Seriously, I feel that every single game, regardless of setting or genre, should have helicopters in it. Helicopters should drop you off and pick you up at the bookends of every single mission, and within those missions there should be opportunities to pilot, shoot from, and rappel out of helicopters.

I love it.

EDIT: Also, I preferred the EA conference to MS or Ubi because of Mirror's Edge, Unravel, and Battlefront, which looked fuckin amazing and which I wasn't even interested in before.

I can't get angry anymore. It's just the way it is now. Obviously someone out there wants these experiences. So the devs make them.

Well MS done decently and Bethesda nailed it so....

Besides South Park, where the hell is the current gen version of AC Rogue?!

Oh no, they're not going to rerelease that, they fear they might then oversaturate the bran-- fuck I can't keep a straight face XD

Rate em'

Bethesda: D
Doom was nice but Fallout 4 looks disappointing for me personally, not excited one bit. Dishonored did nothing for me. Real PipBoy looked cool. The Elder Scrolls: Hearthstone made me cringe.

Microsoft: C+
Rare's new game looks cool but it isn't exactly what I expected. Halo 5's Campaign looked good but fuck me, Warzone singlehandedly made me forget about MCC, I'm back in. Gears of War Remastered should be fun especially if I get a damn code but as a massive Gears fan, Gears 4 left me unimpressed. New IP's didn't do much to excite unfortunately. Backwards compatibility is nice but EA Access was a dud.

EA: C-
I don't care about sports games. That said, Battlefront and Mirror's Edge were absolutely jawdropping and I teared up a bit. Mobile stuff was shit but what else do you expect. Need For Speed looked decent enough I guess.

Ubisoft: B
No Watch_Dogs sequel was a godsend, no AC demo was beautiful, Division and Rainbow 6's downgrades were expected yet still dissapointing even though they look fun as hell. No Splinter Cell sucked hard but man, Ghost Recon was a stunner. Jason DeRulo and meme man was fucking awful but the rest of the humor wasn't too rough so all in all, best conference so far.

For Honor sounded like the game I've been wanting for years now, I'm still hopeful they get the thrill, intensity and Adrenaline of 1 on 1 combat right against ai as well as other players.

I want to be involved in epic battles but not make it about a single soldier winning the battle, aim should be about trying to make it out alive. So no hacking down 100's of enemies like dynasty warriors. Every kill should be meaningful and Retreat should be an option.

Want proper target hit detection, hit on the leg impair movement, arm damage reduces the force of your attacks. No respawning enemy shit, both armies have a set number of soldiers and that's it!

This is what I want For Honor to be, it's unfortunate it won't be.

Basically here's what I've learned so far.

- All third person shooter games are the same. Wildlands and The Division should just be 1 game.
- The Division already came out and was terrible don't bother.
- Aisha Tyler is great.
- Aisha Tyler sucks.
- Cute girl is better than Aisha Tyler and we are attracted to her she should host.
- For Honor doesn't really exist.
- No casual games allowed.
- Everything sucks

...experience... crafted... vast.... epic... visceral... experience...exclusive...content...IP...unique...open world... experience.

There, i just hold a press conference.
(Not Ubi though. Ubi was fun.)

I was just thinking about this yesterday.

Any story they try to tell is a complete non starter to me at this point. The whole intrigue of the original games was that you were seeing what effects those characters in the middle East, Italy, and turkey were having in the present day.

Ubisoft completely shitting on that story and even making comments IN GAME about how none of that stuff mattered is a complete turn off. After playing Black Flag I have no interest in the franchise, and I say that as someone who bought every game prior on release day.

The Witcher has really shown me what good characters, writings, and narratives in general can do for a game. AC games feel so hollow and lifeless in comparison.

I look forward to trying out The Division, Rainbow and Ghost Recon. Trackmania too. For Honor doesn't look like my kind of game, but we'll see. Aisha is cool people.

I assume that's pretty much the only reason people are rating it high, because it had the same CG trailers and underwhelming demos as the other presentations.

Lol what? It sure didn't. I didn't see this one, but for damn, it didn't waste a lot of motherfuckers time with short cgi trailers that lacked a feel and didn't show any gameplay. We had solid foundation for Doom, which included the single player, multiplayer, and snap maker, BattleCry looked cute, they dropped the bomb with Fallout Shelter, "You can get that shit after you leave,", Fallout 4 presentation was phenom and made me hype for a franchise I never put hands in, and not to mention they were giving away those figurines and that Pip Boy watch.

Oh good, another cinematic open-world game about killing brown people.

Seriously, not a single game shown here interested me. UbiArt, where are you? :(

If Sony, Nintendo or Square-Enix were to have a better showing than Bethesda, I would find nothing preposterous about that. Their show was good. It would not take a herculean effort to be better, though.

Best post about the AC franchise.

I kind of enjoyed their conference. Ubi always has a couple games that intrigue me. Granted they've dropped the ball a lot on release so I've learned to damper my expectations.
