And what if each version is the same length as Awakening?
Games are released using older engines all the time. Vice City and San Andreas?
If they wanted to gouge money, they would have just released it at a higher pricepoint like Atlus does for 3DS games and save themselves the manufacturing and distribution fees. If you're going to blame someone for being evil, at least make sure what you're blaming them for actually makes sense.
Doesn't matter if it's the same length. Should a 100 hour game be split into 10 parts if another game is 10 hours? Should a game with similar style, like Hexyz Force, have been split into 2?
A lot of time and resources go into fine-tuning and updating a game engine. These 2 games were made at the same time, and most likely share A LOT of resources. I wouldn't be surprised if it's just the characters and how a story scenario plays out to be different.
So $60 + whatever the 3rd DLC will cost is better? Again, stop drinking the Nintendo Kool-aid. The point I'm making is that these 2 parts, though possible to play by themselves, were obviously meant to be part of a whole package, and Nintendo has split them up.
Sheesh, such cynicism.
Just look up at the Serene Forest and see that the game size is 3GB for each, with 1,2 or so is a shared content between them. Even if they don't split it, they'll need bigger cart or make it N3DS exclusive which in the end, is more of a money grab.
The cart in the LE has both side, no?
