Xbox One adds Xbox 360 backwards compatibility

Are all games coming to this eventually?

All? Probably not. I'd expect all of the popular games to come over, though. It's been confirmed that Kinect titles and things like Rock Band that require peripherals are not compatible with their solution, either.

Not sure where to ask this, but is there a way yet to start up 360 games you had a digital license for? Specifically, Mass Effect?

I hope all the Call of Duty games make it. Especially World at War.

yeah. I get the hate and I don't think that they should be prioritized over some of the more unique and one off games, but I still would love the COD games to be backwards compatible. especially World at War & Black Ops 1.

should be in your ready to install games list if you're a preview dashboard member

Yep. They should be in the "Ready to Install" section of Games and Apps. Mine was waiting for me there the other day.

In the preview dashboard app go to quests and pick the backwards compatibility preview tile. It will then bring up a list with all the games you own digitally that are backwards compatible. You can install them from there.

Edit: Oh, someone else already posted a far easier way.

Cool. Crap that ME 2 & 3 aren't on that list. Still debating if I should take a gamble and get the 360 ME trilogy tomorrow and hope those will be added later.

Bad-ass.

... but when is DLC coming? I mean, if I were to transfer my Borderlands saves over they'd become corrupted without the DLC... Sooooo... Surely it's coming, right?

I hope they get DLC install discs working too, because that's where my Borderlands DLC came from...

Yes but it'll be 360 multiplayer. So you'll be playing with people on 360, or other people playing through XBO BC.

Yep you can, buy off xbox.com website or your 360 console and it will work.

Yeah, I was lukewarm at first but this is really cool. And the fact that your cloud saves transfer is awesome...

Source? Very exciting if true.

oh my GOD

OMG. Those are all games that I have, many Digital. Halo Wars, Cannot wait! Damn, I can't believe this is actually happening. I have been testing Mass Effect, PDZ, Kameo and they all work fantastic and no issues at all. I notice with ME that load times are better, were the game had framerate issues on 360 they are the same on Xbox One. Kameo, looks a little cleaner, not much, but a little bit. I was going between my two inputs since I have it digital and disk, so was able to go back and forth and just notice a little less jaggies.

finally had time to look into this, had to delete a demo for my ready to install list to appear, wut? but so far I have 7 compatible titles that are downloading right now.

I was accepted into the preview program and downloaded the app. How long does it take for the update to come through? Can't play games yet.

So, if you own a physical copy of the games and you then download a digital version of the game when you put the disc in can we get rid of the disc after that?

It's not the same as the XB1 where the game is installed from the disc and is then verified every time the game is started right? So, in theory we shouldn't need the disc anymore.

I downloaded the app last night and was able to download the update when I got home from work today. So for me it was about 24 hours.

No. It still checks for the disc. They aren't just giving games away lol.

Microsoft would be smart to make sure all new GWG 360 titles compatible with the list :)

No. Kinect games and other peripheral dependant games like Lips and Scene it have already been excluded.

Actually Scene It should be fine as the game was also playable with the normal 360 pad. your answers were colored to match the buttons on the pad itself and you used the dpad to buzz in. Was actually the best way to play it as getting that dongle to work and then getting everyone set up with the button pads was a pain in the butt.
