[RUMOR] MGS V: TPP and Pes 2016 to be 1080p 60 fps on Xbox One?

So riddle me this batman. Where has anyone said MGS has been converted to DX12?

No one is saying that, but clearly SDK changes have helped. What I'm trying to say that it's more than just the SDK change making the magic, I'm sure some devilish reprogramming of the Fox Engine in addition was the key.

Also, I'm no expert, but is software really locked to an API?

My thinking on the matter is, if this MGSV rumor is true, the "Windows 10 Xbox One Dashboard" or "New Xbox Experience" has ditched snapping and the ability to run multiple apps at once, freeing up hardware resources currently used by the hypervisor.

In all of the new Xbox Experience videos, they never show snapped apps or snapped achievements. Just the new fly out menu that overlays the screen from the left. That fly out menu doesn't snap, it covers part of the game, meaning the system doesn't have to finagle with multiple resolutions or resizing a datastream. Meaning, those resources, in theory, could be allocated to devs.

Can I confirm this? Of course not. But its about the only explanation I have for the resolution jump.

tbh i'm sure most people are expecting that they're killing snapped apps with that update

Remember people, this is coming from a single source of questionable credibility. This should not yet be taken as confirmation.

People should recall that Ground Zeroes was running on the XDK that still required power be used for the Kinect. It's possible the game could've been optimized, but it's hard to justify the resources for fixing a prologue.

And it ran 900p/60fps. Very well, I might add.

Don't worry. It not will be. I bet what you want. It reminds me to 1080p announcement in Daylight.

wat...? what are you even trying to say.

Also I am getting the PS4 CE of the game. It doesnt matter to me how it is on the other platform, but its nice if this is true, which seems like it is according to OP

Any word on the PS3 version of Phantom Pain? I thought Ground Zeroes ran surpringsly well on PS3, and since I don't have a PS4/Xbox One, I plan to buy it for that platform.

Daylight was announced 1080p on xbone. It's not and performance suffer a bit with too many transparencies. I'm not expect a true 1080p on xbone and not even a solid 60 fps at all. That's a very 'complex'game to handle with such achievement on xbone.

Great news.

I think this is the result of Konami finally optimizing the Fox Engine for the Xbox One AND Microsoft's SDK maturing.

Sorry I only read the OP. Is there reason to believe it's not true?

Not sure, but many have stated that the site is a rumour site and the post isn't written by an actual writer for the site.

Don't get me wrong, it would be fantastic news for the people who get it on the Xbox, I'm just being a bit sceptical, thats all.

I'm glad you have this insight on what trade-offs were made in bringing Ground Zeroes to the Xbox One.

Well I didn't think kinect would create such a impact on the system's performance. The PC version brought more enhance visuals yet my laptop which is weaker than the XBox One can run this game at 60fps on medium settings.

Gonna need receipts before I believe that jump (unless it also turns out they dialled visual effects back accordingly).

Funny how a random guy can post anything on a blog on a gaming website and it will be discussed here like it's true.
Don't you think real journalists would have picked up on this if it were real? Like, we wouldn't learn this from someone who makes 3 spelling mistakes at every sentence?

Fox Engine was/is probably grossly unoptimized on the Xbone. It really shouldn't be running at 720p, even less so friggin' PES.

MGSV is crossgen.
Even Halo collection struggle to handle 1080p 60 fps, people should start to ask why. I don't think 1080p are that easy to achieve on xbone. I can't imagine a steady 60 fps at 1080p. There are specs limits in the hardware. I don't understand why people believe so easily to such rumour. Mostly because I have some difficult to believe to this tech jump from 720p without any 'consequences'.

I hope the PC version utilizes it, performance for that port would be even better than GZ.

Yes, it's 1080p/60FPS locked.

Yes. Ground Zeroes was and TPP is confirmed to be the same

All footage they've shown has been 1080/60

SMH I even played Ground Zeroes & didn't notice this. Thanks for the info.

EDIT: Holy shit, this is really going to be a major AAA game running at 1080p/60 on both consoles plus native 4K on PC? Kojima, you magnificent basterd.

900p? I'm pretty sure it was 720p.

I understand it may be hard to believe in this jump between whole 720p to 1080p, but I believe its even harder to believe that 720p is due to XB1 hardware fault and not some horribly optimization.

Seriously fuck parity !

And bad for PS4 owners....

Lol, what??

So this game went from 720p with less effects on the XBONE to 1080 60fps on account of the new SDK? Some people really never learn....smh. At least try to be a bit coy about it and say 900p or 1080pr, but a rumor that suggests that one of the games with the biggest resolution disparity between the consoles in now on par, is reaching quite a bit. I can see there are persons who already believe them too......

Good call man. Guess it will be the normal cycle till its learned that its not true.

Wow, that's some great optimization considering how Ground Zeroes ran.

This is a rumor, though. I think I'll await the actual final version analysis.

I'll be playing MGS V on XB1 so thats some good news. Hope the resolution bump doesn't impact the framerate though.

I thought GZ looked great on XB1 even at 720p, so resolution was never a big issue for me with this game.

Thank god. Ground Zeroes looked a bit rough at 720p. I'm glad they got it sorted out.
If only it was just that.....most of these halo games are not even 1080p, they're 1080pr and they are a far cry from a solid 60fps even then.
False. The campaign for the remastered Halo 2 was the only thing that wasn't 1080p. All MP and the rest of the campaigns are 1080p60

They're all 1080p except for H2: A campaign, which was running two engines simultaneously. I'll give you the 60fps comment, but the frame rate isn't as bad as you're saying.
