It'd be fun if he could take twitter requests for lines to record. Better if they could work it into the actual Kickstarter as a reward, but they're too disorganized for that.
We need to get PewDiePie on board!!
already happeningHow about a big campaign on the 3rd of July? Youtube, twitter, facebook...
This is Shenmue, not Goat Simulator. If PewDiePie was a Shenmue fan, he would probably have the money to support it alone.
That Kickstarter is going really slow. Fans cashed it all they had, and newcomers don`t give a hit.
Then we have to make him a Shenmue fan? Idk but we have to do something...

Where is Notch when we need him? ;-)

This is a good idea, though I think people should also expand their focus to all other popular youtubers with large followings. Can someone make a list?Let's start spamming PewDiePie's twitter requesting him to play through Shenmue 1 and 2 to help S3's kickstarter. lol
Please do. It's hard to find good Shenmue gifs on the internet, we need a good database of them to draw upon during the campaign. And post gifs. I'll try to make new gifs when I play through later today.
They were involved in Bloodstained from the start that's why. There was probably buckets of money dumped into its KS campaign alone. But looking at their E3 reaction video they were definitely interested in doing something for the campaign.i'm wondering if we could get mega64 onboard with this. they've already done a video with yu suzuki, so could they possibly do another to advertise the kickstarter like they did with bloodstained?

that 2nd gif is a masterpieceThere's plenty out there;
Has there been any reaction from Japan over this announcement? I get the impression Shenmue is something more valued in the West than Japan (or China for that matter).

Maybe if they add a mobile stretch goal.
You want to help shenmue? Tell yu to work on that kickstarter page. That shit is NOTHING compared to bloodstained.
You'd probably get another Mil just from a better kickstarter.
The going around asking randoms for sailors' whereabouts video someone mentioned would work too.
Maybe not him doing it though, unless he's in costume and they get some emotional reactions.
He might want to mention what we get for $10 million...or at least work his way up to $7 million... hopefully he's on that now.
We could do with some more mid-tier and lower range additional shenmue shit.
Decent but small perks a lot of people can afford and would want to do.
Has to seem like something actually additional and not subtracted to not foster any negativity, but small, simple stuff is fine and can be great. Don't forget to go into more detail about the PC retail version so people don't want to downgrade the pledge to go for other stuff. Another good reason to keep it small and simple but fun.
You wouldn't mind If I will translate it in russian? So I run a popular blog that is hosted on the Tumblr platform and just posted an extremely long piece called Why Shenmue Matters. The post has already gotten over 200 notes and has jumped to the top of the Shenmue, Sony, E3, and PS4 tags on Tumblr. It is also near the top of the general Gaming and Video Games tags.
Wanted to set the tone of Shenmue discussion in a positive way.
Here's the link:

These numbers get thrown around a lot but are rarely backed by real data. In reality no-one knows how much these people make. In addition much of their real earnings are usually in shilling. He makes $4million a year apparently.
The Witcher 2 was also made in Poland by people earning like $1k a month which is insane.
No kidding! I don't think I've ever pulled anything off remotely close to that.
Agree and another poor showing is how an update is not out for the 3.5m stretch goal. That would have been updated as soon as it happened in other Kickstarters.
Be my guest! You wouldn't mind If I will translate it in russian?
it's possible they're working on Japan time/not crossing it off until there is no risk of dipping underAgree and another poor showing is how an update is not out for the 3.5m stretch goal. That would have been updated as soon as it happened in other Kickstarters.

We need to include this guy in the campaign:
This guy visited all the real life areas of Shenmue

Thats me haha
He said the Witcher 2 not 3. They were able to massively ramp up their budget thanks to the success of W2. Polish game developer wages are still 2-4 times lower than the ones you'd find in other European countries and even less than you'd find in the US. Not sure what Japanese developer wages are like. I recall hearing they weren't very high.Witcher 3 was $32m, which is still remarkably cheap, but you're right a lot of their artists are very low paid.
As for the Pewdiepie thing, assuming he's not a YouTube partner (he is) and assuming he has no outside endorsements (he does) then he'd just be making the base Youtube ad revenue which for his 9bn views would be about $9m. In reality, he'll be on much more than this as YouTube give better deals to their stars, $1 per 1000 views is their basic rate any scrub can get.
Lord Karnage of Classic Game Room is already backing the project as of two days ago, but hasn't sent out more word about it than that.
He reviewed the first Shenmue last November. "It's about time, right?"
Big Sega fan, though I'm not sure if he knows about what the fans have been up to.

On a side note I know in Suzuki's AMA he mention Ryo's model wasn't final but I really hope they stick to the passport models.
