It's done this to me 3 times now my game was crashing with file errors so verified cache and its deleted the game. This port is a mess man

Yea. We need to warn gaffers about verifying integrity.

I tried to make a recap that included this info, but it appears I was too late.

I just noticed the game isn't fully utilizing my GPU for some reason.

Only seeing around 40% usage max... CPU bottleneck?

Probably is... I have a 5930k but it only seems to be using two cores at most.

Running it maxed out, including gameworks, at 1440p and it seems to run smoothy.
Played for about 30 minutes. Gsync doing work to mitigate the wildly fluctuating FPS.

VRAM usage was at 6.5GBs though!

Titan X redeemed?

Fraps shows the game running 30fps but it just doesn't feel like a smooth 30, on top of that I'm experiencing is a ton of hitches / stuttering even during cutscenes which really breaks the immersion, this is with all of the Gameworks options disabled.

GTX 670 FTW 2GB / 12GB / i7 920 @ 3.2ghz / Win 7

The cut-scene with the guy after you crash his truck was a total stuttering disaster for me. I don't even understand why.

I'm sure you're not the only that's not believing what you just wrote.

I guess some people just don't notice this stuff. It's like this guy that linked me to his twitch stream as proof that there wasn't stuttering in his game. What do I immediately see when that shit starts? Stuttering.

I posted my frame-times from the start of the game a few pages back.

FMVs in the beginning are probably throwing it off a bit, but it was still overall smooth with the setup I was using.

Based on my experience thus far... Maybe? Knock on wood!

Soo.....with all these people having performance issues, I'm sitting over here with specs UNDER the minimum required and am generally at 45+fps with level of detail on medium at 1080p. Something tells me that people are either exaggerating or it has to do with some specific PC builds.

ERMYGERD!
I'm on an I5 3.2ghz, 16 gbs ddr3, 970 4gb, everything maxed and on, smooth as a baby skin. Except fmvs, they stutter for some reason.

Any fix for the game auto-minimizing on launch then screen flickering when brought back up?

Are you on a mobile GPU by any chance? There are folks on the Steam forum who are saying this is only affects us laptop users.

I believe someone there said you can force the game to Borderless Window via Geforce Experience or go into the Steam launch options for the game and add "-windowed".

Game decided to redownload itself after I tried validating the files for the issue so can't confirm for myself if these works, or what effect this has on performance.

Titan X @ 1350mhz
4670k @ 4.4ghz
8GB RAM
SSD

1440p
Everything On & Maxxed

I have only played the first 20 min or so just to see how it would run, I get anywhere from 90fps to 45fps. Usually the counter is in the low 70's though. Gameplay was smooth, though I am on a Gsync monitor.

Not being able to play at a solid 60fps sucks. For now, I just cranked the resolution up to 2880x1620 using DSR and set the frame rate to 30 in RivaTuner. At least the frame rate is locked.

3.5gb VRAM issue in the 970 is the culprit for the frame rate locking @ 30fps during hectic scenes. Need a patch that prevents VRAM from going over that amount similar to what they did in Dying Light. Either that, or time to invest in a true 4gb video card. :(

Holy shit after reading this thread I'm not touching this thing for a while until its fixed. Luckily I got it on GMG for pretty cheap so it doesn't hurt too bad that I won't be playing this at launch. Gives me time to finish Witcher 3 I suppose

Recap:

Batman Nvidia Drivers were already released earlier. Also latest drivers solves greyed out/missing graphics options. Game still sucks. :(

Benchmarking has nothing to do with the actual game. Game is capped to 30fps, but uncapped in benchmark.

Sorry for any formatting issues. Im on a cellphone until I get home :/

so

- PC Port is outsourced. (by Iron Galaxy.. why they didn't give it to Monolith Productions or WB Montreal)
- 30fps lock. (hope it's Iron Galaxy fault and not a Watch Dog situation again)
- Denuvo DRM. (why?)
- AMD and Nvidia drivers do not fix the game issues.

Well... WB sure screwed up big time on this.

something just feels off. Aside from the frame rate, textures look really crappy, everything looks like it has a vaseline filter...it definitely looks nothing like the trailers I have seen. I have a 970 and it looks worse than screenshots and videos i have seen from the ps4 version. I wish I could take screenshots of what I am seeing, but printscrn pauses the game for some reason, and F12 isnt working for steam screenshots.

Its all just...odd. I am standing next to a brick wall and it just looks all blotchy and gross.

Running this game on max everything + rain and light shafts (no smoke or debris) at 1080p borderless window with a consistent 31 fps on:

cpu i7 3770k
16 gb ram
gpu amd 7950 3gb
and game is loaded on an SSD
I updated to latest amd beta driver if that matters too

I've gotten to the part where you call the Batmobile with absolutely no errors and all the way to GCPD - so far it's been a super smooth experience (knock on wood) and i am pleasantly surprised!

This game looks absolutely gorgeous by the way. The rain effects especially good god.

Running perfect for me. Removed the 30 FPS cap and played for about 2 hours with no issues. Seeing about 75 FPS at all times with a 4790k and GTX 970. Maybe a little bit of stuttering here and there, but nothing major.

The 30 FPS cap is stupid and the fact that there's no mouse sensitivity slider anywhere in the game is laughable, but we've dealt with this bullshit so many times in PC ports of UE3 games that it's easy enough to change it in the ini files. Surprised to see everybody having problems.

Steam isn't hooking into the game properly. I didn't get my FPS counter in the corner, which is an easy way to tell.

And about the graphics, there's some texture streaming problem in AK. For me, during the benchmark, some of the textures loaded veeerryy slowly, finally popping while in the middle of the screen.

Put the 30 FPS cap back on and now I'm playing at 4K. Goes below 30 at times while in the bat mobile but at least it looks nice, especially in interiors. *shrug*

Hopefully they will iron out the 60 FPS issues so I can go back to 1440P for the smoother framerate. Nice to switch to my 4K tv though

Its like they made all the perfectly wrong decisions with this game.

No need, we all see it. And I agree that even some of the PS4 shots look better than these "normal" textures.

In other words, it kinda looks like a UE3 game with filters.

This almost contradicts everything I have read about it so far. People with more powerful rigs than you are struggling to maintain 30fps, your PC must be magic :)

Tested on a 4770k @ 5ghz and Titan X @ 1500/8000 at 1440p everything on/maxed.

Min - 39
Max - 97
Average - 67

Also saw it go over 6gb Vram on multiple occasions during gameplay!

I haven't installed the Batman ready drivers yet, so i guess we'll see if they change the numbers.

Thing that's frustrating me, is I just decided to check out a few random twitch streamers to see if they were having these problems in the batmobile too, and it doesn't look like it :(

I'm pissed that I am, because I wanted to play and enjoy this game tonight, but I can't.

After many hours of tweaking and reading everyones experiences, especially those with multiple Titans / 980Ti's are still capping it to 30FPS, mostly due to their resolution, but also given the default 30 cap and how flimsy performance is, this PC port just feels like a straight copy of the console version running on their development PC's. Even calling this a "port" is disengenuous, as it has literally zero features of a PC port. The graphics settings lone are pretty telling.

x3sphere

I can maintain 60 most of the time on a 980 Ti at 1080p, but it dips hard into the 45-50 range for a split second every now and then. When this happens my GPU usage doesn't go up at all indicating a CPU bottleneck. Only seeing 10% CPU usage on a i7 5930k.

*spends $1000 on gaming PC, gets shit experience*

I shoulda spent half of that on a console. PC gaming is fucking painful right now.

It's really sad you don't get to fully experience The Fourth Batman Game in all its AAA glory on day one, true, but you're kiddin' yourself if you don't think consoles are plagued with this shit too.

Yeah most likely the 95% of people reporting absolute shit performance in this thread are all
just exaggerating.

And everyone on the Steam forums.

And everyone in Reddit.

Just exaggerating.

Also, you didn't even bother posting what your specs are that apparently have no performance problems

Epic post is epic.

This game is a cluster f*ck - Afterburner OSD doesn't work. Launched the game and saw that the MAXIMUM textures you can use is "NORMAL!" WTF?!?!

I changed the FPS cap in the INI file but come on! It's 2015 and they capped it to 30FPS?!? Seriously!?!?

Also, game crashed in intro scene and had a huge list of "files missing" etc. so I decided to "verify cache" and now it's re-downloading the ENTIRE GAME!

ARRRRGH!

What's the verdict on SLI? Especially 4-Way SLI?! :D

Really disappointed with Rocksteady - Arkham City was a BRILLIANT game and worked (still does) so well w/ 4-Way SLI etc.
