2015 PC Screenshot Thread of the Only Place Where Compression Isn't

I expected AK to look a bit different than that... It looks like Rocksteady added a nice rain effect to AC and hired someone to make a fancy ReShade preset for the game. Still runs on old UE3, should've used 4 already.
Looks way better than Arkham Origins though. Would've loved to see Nvidia's Faceworks in the game as advertised before... Guess we'll see if the game will get a DX12 update, now that would be nice.

To be fair to Arkham Knight, I've noticed that it looks a lot better in motion. The post processing effects, rain, etc. look much worse in still shots.

Maybe wrong place to ask, but when I play Witcher3 on ultra and there are shiny surfaces, I see all these little white dots dancing around. Also very visible when a character wears armor with rings. It's not a heating issue or something, can easily be seen in screenshots too but more visible when in motion. It seems to lessen a bit when using FXAA but still there. Very annoying. Seems like a shader problem or something. Opened a thread on the cdprojekt forums and other people noticed this too (nvidia). Anyone else noticed this? Fix?

Holy shit? Configs? Reshade? I need this.

Yep, the only real difference between AC/AO and AK is some of the materials shaders.

Apparently that costs 30+ FPS compared to how the other games ran on my PC. Not only that, but frametimes apaear ot be all over the place. It's like they didn't optimize at all, just plopped down the console verison on DX11 and called it a day. There are some pretty obvious differences between the console and PC versions: longer view distances, lighting that is active far away, better shadows, but the performance variance is insane.

It's just not fully baked yet. They should have delayed the PC version, or have given it more attention.

Maybe it looks better in motion, but if someone told me that was AC screenshots I would have believed.

It looks better in motion but not that much. Film grain and CA are killing the IQ.

Doooood!!!!! I need this. Does it get rid of the HUD too?

You get rid of the HUD with the ToggleHUD command (you set it up in the BmInput.ini file). I'll do a guide on all this later. Couldn't finish it last night because I had to go to bed.

Arkham Knight isn't the new Crysis, but that is just an ignorant and baseless comment.

Ak has higher res textures, much busier environments, higher polycounts, better subsurface scattering, rain shaders, real time screen space reflections, new hair physics, amazing destruction, a much higher particle count, per-object motion blur, chromatic aberration and film grain (if they're your thing), emissive surfaces, vastly improved bloom and eye adaptation, new shaders for mud, dirt etc, 3D ocean waves, an enormous amount of lights (most of them shadow casters), MUCH better weather effects, new cloth physics for the cape and clothes...

I'm sorry, but to say that there are barely any differences between AC and AK is just ridiculous. The game is completely broken on PC, but don't take merit away from the artists and graphics programmers. I thought all people who visited this thread would have an eye for graphics tech and aesthetics.

It isn't totally right for this thread but theres no other thread for this and its way too cool to not share here.

I learned that DSMT (a tool that has a model/animation viewer for Dark Souls assets) works with 3D Vision, and it looks ASTOUNDING. It looks like there is a little Gwyn or Artorias action figure standing in the air in front of me!

As usual, cross you eyes to view the model in stereo 3D. I got pretty drastic with the pop out in some of these as a heads up. You can practice on something easier here

Edit: Updated with images that should be WAY easier to see properly.

Clearly I'm not talented enough at crossing my eyes...

Here's a really tame practice image I made a while ago to try and help learn with.

Also most people cross their eyes WAY too much when trying to learn. Here's an example of how much my eyes cross with a typical 3D image at sitting distance.

On the DS ones I posted you'll probably end up crossing a bit more because the 3D is popped out strong, but not TOO much more.

So cool. But my eyes, they bleed.

I actually updated them now, they're fixed to be WAY less strenuous on the eyes and a lot easier to see. They look much better.

I had thought the distance between the two would be important for in or out of screen depth but I realized it's not really gonna make much a difference for these.

So does anyone have a witcher 3 reshade config that doesn't kill fps @ 4k? I've got CM's loaded right now, and it looks good but way too much bloom (never used reshade before, don't know how to adjust the bloom settings) and my fps is like 24-25 standing outside Crow's Perch.

I don't know, I may have to stick with vanilla W3 at 4k.

I never really understod this. Like, how can you cross your eyes without your vision getting all blurry?

I don't really get it either. I was finally able to get it to "work" when someone quoted them and made the images tiny but then they were blurry.

Your vision gets blurry because your eyes typically aren't focusing on anything when you cross them. But when you cross your eyes correctly and the two images overlap, your eyes are now focusing on the two images (as if they're one 3 dimensional object) and then it becomes sharp again.

It's also worth noting if you have reduced vision at distances (wear glasses or whatever) then to your eyes though the actual spacial distance is the same between you and the monitor, your eyes have to look a slightly further distance and it might be a little out of focus as a result. I've found that tilting your head back a bit acts a bit like slight squinting and makes the image sharper.

I don't really get it either. I was finally able to get it to "work" when someone quoted them and made the images tiny but then they were blurry.

If you could make it work when they're tiny, then a quick tip. View them at their full size, move back and try to cross your eyes. Once your eyes lock in focus, move back in closer to normal sitting distance and you should be good. If they're still blurry and don't have great vision, try the tip above.

Hehe, I made similar screens few months ago=D

My album of 79 screens from this amazing game is here. Btw, I thing you should consider to use some SweetFX/ReShade preset to have colour less washed-out. Just my opinion.
Cool! Yeah I know reshade etc. could polish it up a bit, thanks for the tip, but I actually like the way it looks at the moment, even though the shots might look washed out a bit. I'll try fraps next time to see whether that makes a difference (these are taken by steam to png)

(edit) looking at your shots, they indeed look way sharper. I'll see what reshade can do with this indeed, thanks!
