Uncharted : The Nathan Drake Collection 1080p/60fps footage+demo coming this summer

They're using cut-scene quality models, I can tell by the high quality Phurba dagger in that screen there.

These are also really screens rendered at 4K, so no the actual game won't look quite as good. :p

Lack of motion blur is worrisome indeed, reminds me of Uncharted 3's launch version. I hope BluePoint adds it.
Well one of the articles said they were playing unfinished code that lacked some visual effects so will definitely get added before release.

Can't say much about image quality or framerate yet but the texture and shadow quality improvements are a clear step above The Last of Us' remaster.

Hi, I'm nortonff. I spend my life going into threads to say that I don't care about the topic of the thread. It's a really good use of my time.
Considering TLOUR is 60fps, why some people think this won't be ?

The PSblog confirmed that this build was missing some visual effects.

Ah, okay. I would assume motion blur is one of the things they're referencing. Can't think of what else it might be.

Edit: actually, I think AO is missing, too. Didn't notice any while he was climbing up those rocks near the beginning.

Anyone saying it looks meh, not really sure what you were expecting? it's a PS3 remaster, it's not like it's a remake.

Just like God of War 3, the Uncharted games already looked really good, so it likely won't be a massive upgrade, other than looking sharper @ 1080p with some texture and lighting improvements and of course running a lot better @ 60fps.

I personally hope it's a good port like TLoU Remaster though, because I love the Uncharted games and I'm looking forward to this.

That's...actually a lot better than I was expecting. Better textures sure, but the lighting looks great too.

This sums it up perfectly. This will be pretty much the perfect port if it shows the improvement of The Last of Us going from PS3 to PS4. We're in for a treat if we get something even close to that.

There's not even a visible difference. Granted, I'm viewing this on the 3DS browser but they look literally identical.

jk

I can't wait to see what they've done to 1. I tried replaying that recently and it was really hard with all the tearing :/

If they improve the lighting + textures too, it'll be incredible.

yeah I watched the video of Meristation and I can see the visual upgrade. I can't be really high being the same game, the only way to do a big jump is remaking it which make no sense.

As everyone, I wonder what will happen with Drake's Fortune? But I'm prepared to receive a similar treatment, slightly visual upgrade, gameplay style from Uncharted 2 o 3 perhaps, and steady performance.

In any case, I'll buy the collection for sure.

Sorry:
"Considering TLOUR is 60fps, why some people think this won't be ?"

Nobody thinks that, they were just talking about the concern trolling going on in the TLOU remastered thread.

Edit : Oh you're talking about the PS Blog comments. You shouldn't bother reading those.

Wow from that screenshot that's quite an upgrade. Can't wait to play all three games for the first time. I don't want to spoil myself and watch too many videos.

Looks great. It's still a shame that the collection has no Multiplayer but at least they seem to be doing a good job with the SP content.

As several other people in this thread, I'm most curious to see what changes they make to Uncharted 1.

The biggest upgrade will be the framerate. Releasing footage at 30fps is not going to let us see its full impact.

Whenever a game uses "middleware," I expect mediocrity. Just see how poor TLOU looks.
Hoping they rework the first Uncharted to be closer in gameplay and quality to the 2nd and 3rd games. 1 has not aged well and isn't very fun to play.

We sure thats footage of the remaster?

It's definitely footage of the remaster, make sure you're set at 1080p/60fps on youtube. It looks amazing, i'm so pumped to play these games again.

I wonder how Drake's Fortune will look, it sucks Uncharted 4 won't be 60fps.

Despite all the cool stuff we have learned today, I still expect UC1 to look the most dated by far. I seriously doubt it will hold a candle to UC2 and UC3, but I do hope the character models will be noticably improved.

I wonder if Bluepoint's using a ppAA for all three games or [prays] returning to MSAA like the first couple on PS3.

The blog post specifically says all three will have improvements in gameplay based on the improvements they made since 3. So chances are that it will be on-par with UC3 with aiming, shooting, and grenades.

Last time i'm posting this. During this video i'm 90% certain there are clips of both uncharted 1,2,3 remastered :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFxSz8Yqy9w

I don't think so. The Uncharted 2 footage in that video has got the motion blur which is missing in the NDC footage posted in this thread. Also, the aliasing in most of those clips looks pretty bad for a 1080p game. If the remaster had that much aliasing it'd be a huge disappointment, honestly.

Yeah knew it was real once the youtube footage hit.

AO isnt on but other then that looks nice enough for a remaster. Gotta see what U1 looks like though. That game looks pretty weird and definitely needs the most work to be brought in line with the other games.

Look at all that lack of contact shadows.

Eugh, I remember it looking better than that.

And so it begins.

Am I the one to only be hyped by Uncharted 2 and 3 ? The first wasn't that good in my opinion.

The first was good when it hit. The improvements to 2/3 quickly left it in that almost concept like state of feel if you play it after.

Considering they want to have parity with gameplay across all 3 to have improvements they did past 3, I am excited to go through 1 again.

I actually have to complete my PS3 crushing difficulty for the plat, so I may do that soon for some awesome frustration. That will hype me to be excited to play 1 on the PS4 later this year to feel the improvements.

Drake's Fortune's my favourite and aside from shadow resolution, which I think was better than in the sequels, it should see the most improvement.
