Most people forgot about it, but AiAi hitting Rage mode in the match with Nemo really set the tone for the rest of the top 8, I feel.

No easy wins at that point
For sure. Im just glad Juri was represented in Top 8 well. Ai ai amost got blown up.

Can someone answer me the following questions?

How many fatalities were performed in the MKX top 8?

How many players cried in all the top 8?

What game had the lowest stream count (it was either Tekken 7 or Persona 4 I believe)?

I think Persona actually had a higher stream count than tekken 7. Not sure about the rest.

If you mean at the start. It was KI with 31k. If you mean in general I think it was Tekken but not sure.

Man people are so salty about momo winning. Yea the pause basically shattered all that momentum and tension that was going on, but momochi won fair.
Have to say tho the way sf4 ended reminded me of an NBA game coming down to a ref call.

What I want to know is how many different characters were used in USFIV top 8, and if that has ever been topped. The fact that everyone had an Elena made it seem higher than it is though.

I have been wondering how the pause affected the mind game aspect of the match. It seemed like the final round went pretty yolo from the start and the downloads had to restart.

Guile, Decapre, Elena, Chun Li, Juri, Rolento, Balrog, Akuma, Evil Ryu, Abel, Adon, Ken.

12 unique characters total.

It's actually tied with Killer Instinct which also had 12 unique characters at an equal split between Season 1 and Season 2 characters:

Season 1 characters: Sadira, Orchid, Thunder, Glacius, Fulgore, Sabrewulf
Season 2 characters: Spinal, Cinder, Omen, Kan-Ra, Hisako, Maya

This is of course counting 1v1 fighter, MVC3 would have more than both but it's a 3v3 fighter.

How can people just say "Pause killed GB momentum" When Momochi was 1 round up and had first hit?
Come one guys. It was bad for both. Momochi probed he was mentally stronger, that's it.

I feel sorry for GB cuz he deserves a big win, but in that situation Momochi had more to lose than him...

It's like 2 or 3 dudes total in the EVO thread actually saying it, and just the one guy who tried to detail the conspiracy like Kevin Costner in JFK. And most everyone's (rightfully) giving that guy the "GAH. MEDIOCRE" response.

I'd say most people recognize the situation for what it was. If anyone's actually going tinfoil hat, it's a tiny minority that seems bigger because everyone's quoting/responding to it like "nah buddy."

You do realize GB made a comeback each(?) round he was losing in to make it after he reset the bracket right? The momentum was in GB's favor since he reset the bracket. I personally am fine with the win cause GB and Momochi agreed upon it. My issue is with the whole momentum thing, GB was clawing his way back up. Each time I thought he would lose (until the final round) he came back up and surprised all of us.

Imagine if Momochi would of lost that last round. He gave up a free round on a messed up stick.

come on now. 11 seconds into the round it happened. Momochi is on game point and the pause could of cost him the entire set. The pause allowed Gamerbee to get a final round.

It was a shitty situation overall. Momochi had the round and life lead but Bruce was inching towards corner advantage (which he clutched out prior rounds with).

In my experience Razer makes shitty PC peripherals that are shoddy on top of being overpriced. Fuck Razer.

The stress of the situation and confusion of gamerbee for whether he'd have to take a round / game and also the stress of him having to think about whether he SHOULD take a round took a toll on him. I'm sure both players are aware of this.

Seriously

I'm not sure if saying that it robbed him of his momentum is appropriate, but I seriously doubt it didn't fuck him up too
Infiltration played literally half the characters in top 8 at the highest level. Dude is a god.
Pulling out so many different characters (with vastly different playstyles!) is one thing, but doing it at such a high level and making it seem like it's nothing is insane. Infiltration and Momochi(and to a lesser extent Gamerbee too) are showing everyone that character loyalty barely has any benefits. If you're going to stick to one character, you better be really damn good on it(see: Nemo, Rog), otherwise you're going to fall behind.

Say what you want. Momochi was 1 round up and had the life lead before the controller crash. that's the fact. The rest it's trying to predict alternative reality.

From my view it killed the back & forth momentum that was going on between both players until that pause. It just messed up the flow of the match.

Yeah it seems like that was the theme of that top 3.
