Hogan keeps posting up pics of him with african americans he knows, reeks of desperation, and reminds me of George Costanza in the Sugar Ray episode of Seinfeld.

I thought he was best buds with Mr. T myself tho. They were both in Rocky 3 and teamed up in wrestling a couple times. His greatest rival was Zues.

They didn't dissociate with Benoit because murder is bad and he's gonna burn in hell.

Benoit was just the straw that broke the camel's back regarding WWE disgusting health policies. Angle left before ending like Benoit, Guerrero died before he could even decide which way he was gonna end. And then there's Bryan, protected like an infant and still forced to retire because his neck is like a rattle.
I don't know...there's still CM Punk and the whole staph infection thing.

"Yeah, yeah...*pokes lump*...okay, you're cleared to wrestle. Just take these antibiotics that also double as laxatives."

That's not what matters. Boycotts don't mean anything for most businesses above a certain size in today's world and never will moving forward.

Sponsor withdrawal based on not wanting their products image associated with a negative is what matters.

If companies refuse to have ads air during their television shows on the NBC Universal family of networks, then that is what causes change.

That's true, but I don't think any company big enough to have much clout is going to be the one doing the "WWE is racist" expose. The Atlantic did a big article not too long ago about all the racism in pro wrestling, and it didn't do jack shit.

I'm sure there all the "good one's", I seriously wonder what the criteria is before you get demoted to nigger.

They can hide behind the fact you know it's phony
but it's still real to me dammit
but meant to look real. It's not like the writing of a movie or a videogame, you can't sue them asking that they put a black wrestler over for a world title. It's one of those grey areas that allows them to do whatever they want.

Except terrorism angles, that is the only thing that legitimately may cost them the show to be axed.

Here's Ted Dibiase having his black man servant Virgil paying a black wrestler to wrestle for him. "That's more money than you've ever seen, boy. Earn it."

WWF Superstars

Everything in 80's WWF wrestling was racist.

Just so we're clear, finding out one of my childhood heroes is a racist prick makes it ok that his privacy was violated? K, just checking.

I've been a hogan fan for 30 years but he needs to, and deserves to, take this L. Failing to hide your racism from the public is not an excuse. Not for Sterling and not for Hulk. Hulk will have his chance for redemption -- America loves a comeback -- but he deserves the shit he is getting right now. Yes it sucks that his friend stabbed him the back. Doesn't change anything.

I have no issue with a public figure who's gimmick is being some all American goody two shoes being exposed as a full blown racist

Would it be a stretch to say that wrestling fans, while perhaps not racist themselves, are by and large accepting of racism at these events? I know they are on a local level, because I have been to these white trash gatherings here in the south (being a wrestling fan as a teenager).

Haha. I love that episode.

Edit: remember when he tracked down the Breakfast At Tiffany's guy? It was comedy gold.

Tacitly, maybe. Especially when they continue to support these shitty companies after their seedy underbellies have been exposed.

To be fair, that was a storyline and Booker wouldn't have done it if he wasn't okay with it and the originally planned outcome.

It's rumored that FreePaul HeyTch backdoored his way into keeping the world title, much like he convinced management to put his match last at WMX8, sure it wouldn't be the stinker that indeed has been. Booker T was obviously doing all of that because he thought it was an underdog unfair angle leading into an upset.

80's? They still do things like that now. Preacher choir for a trio of black wrestlers, for instance. Always putting blacks with others blacks, hispanics with other hispanics, black men always rapping or dancing, a team called the Mexicools who rode a lawn mower in their entrance, etc. Still keeping many racist people in the front office, despite constant coverups.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. Zero consequences. Would get anyone in any occupation today fired instantly.

Are you being serious? It's a television show. He was cutting a heel promo, he's getting heat. Goldust was incredibly over at this time, so calling him a fag wasn't exactly pandering to a racist/homophobic audience (besides, according to the New York crowd Shawn Michaels was the fag).

Quite frankly I miss the crazy open-mic promos of the past. Saying awful things in real life is one thing, but having a bad guy cut a bad guy promo for television is something else entirely. It's not real. Generally you don't fire an actor for playing his character.
