Dishonored: DE (PS4/XBO) - In the days that follow, your trials will be great

The Dishonored: DE for PS4/XBO is supposed to release on August 25th, and yet there hasn't been a single screenshot or video shown for it. Other than the original E3 announcement of "It comes with all the DLC", there hasn't been a single mention of anything like framerate, resolution, upgraded graphics, etc. I'm guessing this so-called "definitive edition" is nothing more than a simple port with some slightly sharper textures and - perhaps - faster loading screens. I mean, if there were even some basic improvements (like 1080p/60fps), then you'd think they'd be promoting the hell out of it with comparison videos and such...but nothing.

It would be cool if the Definitive Edition includes settings equal to Ultra + ini tweaks. Cleaned the game up a lot on PC.

Looks like it will be available sub-£20 in the UK at launch, so there is not going to much too it.

Or they actually put it at a decent price and this way more people are likely to rebuy or buy it for the first time because its cheaper rather than putting it out for $60 or £40. It makes sense. Its not like they need extra money to make a sequel, it's already been in dev for a long time and due out Spring 2016 (prob delay though)

I guess we'll be seeing some info this week or next. I can't wait, I have never played Dishonored !

You've cracked the code. Go play the DE right now, it's 66% off on Steam.

It always bugs me when people say things like this, not everyone has a gaming pc.

Dishonored at 60 fps with dlc. Not much else to say. Hyped

If it's 1080p/60 w/All DLC then it's a good package for sure. The DLC alone is amazing and just as long as an entire game. I actually thought vanilla Dishonored was pretty long. Some people didn't collect anything or explore at all and beat it fast though. I took my time and enjoyed exploring the amazingly created world.

A little off topic, but a quick question.

You can either stealth or go full combat in the game, right?

Which is more fun?

Just watch videos of the PC-version. I don't think that you can expect better graphics on PS4&One.

I think this remaster is going to be good. It would have been nice if Arkane did the transfer to UE4 for this remaster, like the vanishing of ethan carter port. I guess we shall see soon enough.

It's just a remaster, same game with better res and frame rate and dlcs included, they have released a few screens a few days ago.

I've seen both. When done right stealth is fantastic. I cannot do stealth and went full combat. Which is also fantastic fun

On topic: even if it is a shameless upgrade they're allowing newbies who have never played the game get it for a decent price (40 euro here) and previous owners (was on both XBL & PS+) for a 20 euro upgrade. Not a bad shout for an excellent game

DMC4:SE was £20 and that added 3 new characters. Although it was digital only.

Huh? Why would you need a gaming PC?
Game plays fine on a laptop
Can you run it at the settings closest to the remaster on a laptop? Because if not then people without gaming pcs can't get the experience they want without upgrading their PC (presuming that they already have a PS4/XB1).

It really depends on your personal style of play. I'm the type who enjoys both stealth and combat, so I did two separate playthroughs focusing on each and it was immensely rewarding. In no small part due to the fact that I chose different abilities/powers for each run, so the second time through felt like a different game.

Correct. Which is more fun is going to depend on you.

I preferred stealth but combat was pretty varied trying that route.

Also OP not sure what you're expecting. I'm presuming PC version & assets with DLC ported to consoles at either 30 or 60 FPS depending on ease of effort to port code.

Dishonored was very well optimized. Assuming they aren't doing to much to the existing PC version, which I very much doubt considering the relative silence from Bethesda, than an older setup should be able to match XBO/PS4 settings quite easily.

Why the fuck would it? It's a PS4/Xbone port of a game that came out three years ago that's meant to drum up hype for the sequel and get those unfamiliar with the series on board.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
Very few remasters actually get significant hype.
I have no idea why this is a shock to people.

It makes no sense to put tons of marketing dollars into something that is not going to sell a ton of copies.

Wait until the reviews come out and let the market be the judge.

I'd prefer 1080p/60fps, but I will be quite happy with 1080p and a rock solid 30fps.

Believe it or not its in Bethesda's best interest to make sure this is a good port since this will be used to begin the hype for Dishonored 2.

In short, QUIT worrying about it.

Its nothing out of the ordinary.

Actually we dont still.

Not even basic stuff.

Yeah, after Prototype HD I don't blame anyone being wary of late ports/ remasters with little info.

Similar with ZombiU which is coming out in 4 days but still has no price and the only info they've given it out is how they'll replace the gamepad functions.

I'm assuming it's gonna be game+both story DLC and any supplemental DLC

Probably 1080/30fps, 60 if they love us lol
Yeah it includes DLC hats about all we know.
Arkane Studios’ 2012 Game of the Year, Dishonored, and all of its additional content - Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches and Void Walker’s Arsenal – comes to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Dishonored: Definitive Edition! Experience Dishonored plus all of its additional content on the new console systems for the first time, complete with enhanced graphics that take full advantage of the powerful hardware of this generation.

Actually we got some good info on Zombi even a trailer.

Still no price is pretty bad.

I'm going to interpret 'enhanced graphics' as we can't be arsed to optimise to 60fps, so we're going to use 'enhanced graphics' to justify 30fps.

I mean what is there to know? It's the game and all DLC. They didn't do much marketing for GoW3 Remastered either.

It has been pointed out a few times already, if you bothered reading the thread. Resolution, framerate and what is entailed in the addition of 'enhanced graphics'.
