Buy better statues. :D

Buying statues is hard. All the ones i want aren't out for awhile and i want one now O_____O. And from Amazon....so i can return a bad paint job. The Bleez statue looks great but also a little too creepy. Batwoman Bombshell i still have pre-ordered through dcbs and that isn't coming out until the end of September....so far away. Also if it has bad paint i might be hosed. After Batwoman i am thinking about the Artfx Emma Frost and then a depressingly long wait until the animated series Zatanna figure comes out.

Oh right, before I forget: Captain America's secret identity is a central plot point here, and... I totally thought Cap was the type who was completely out in the open about who was under the mask. Huh. Is it still a secret nowadays?

1602 Witch Hunter Angela #2 continues the amazing start from the first issue adding in a bit of fun in this issue while keeping the drama in tact. The art styles are lovely Stephanie Hans work is breath taking (I wish they would use her Angela costume in the regular book once this is over it's so good looking) and Irene Kohs art fits perfectly with what they are trying to do. Love the creative team on this book, can't wait for next month and delighted they are staying post secret wars. Might be my favorite SW book.

Man how do you guys do the monthly wait between issues? I'm used to reading TPB's but I have recently subscribed to a bunch of books. Obviously I blew through all of them lol, and now I'm itching for the next issues! It's taking a lot of self control to not just go to comixology and buy more and more

If you're gonna buy the Emma Frost, DCBS has her up for $42. Better grab her before they update next week.

You keep buying more books until you have a nice chunk of books that come out once a week so the wait doesn't feel that long.

What are you buying?

Hmm yeah I suppose that works. I was gonna dive into my backlog for now to save some money. Gotta finish up Uncanny Xforce, Bendis Daredevil, and Y the Last Man.

But I'm currently subscribed to:
Batman
Grayson
Justice League
Secret Wars
E is for Extinction
Old Man Logan
Infinity Gauntlet
Master of Kung Fu
Weirdworld

If you just want stuff to read, there's always MU. Not perfect and obviously limited to Marvel, but there's a lot on there and it's a solid deal.

I distract myself by reading more ongoings and trades. Other hobbies like videogames and anime certainly help me out too.

Man, the game really does a terrible job of trying to make the Arkham Knight interesting. "Oh hey, a guy that knows Bruce's strats and has a humongous chip on his shoulder" much pacing, very mystery, totes chekov.

Another good issue of Copperhead today, really enjoying this arc. Bit of a middle arc issue but still good. Shit is about to hit the fan.

The last issue of Black Widow went dark. Real dark. That being said, I enjoyed it, as it really showed the difference between Natsha's present and past. The art from Noto continued to be fantastic. I'm just glad this series didn't go off the rails like Edmondson's Punisher series did (which had a severe lack of Punishing... well until the last two issues that turned into a warhawk's wet dream when he went to the Middle East to shoot up terrorists).

I also loved this picture posted on Noto's blog.

MODOK Assassin also continues to be a really fun book.

Tyler Kirhams art in the Deathstroke Annual is jaw-dropping.

I flipped through it today, it looked good. almost bought it but i wasn't sure if it was a continuation of a story or not so i didn't. I'm almost certainly adding the trade to my next IST order, the one i'm about to place in a few minutes.

So I guess that's the end of Noto on Black Widow then

Assuming they have an ongoing Black Widow comic after Secret Wars, I am curious who they will put on it. While I really liked the current run, I wouldn't mind if the next one was lighter in tone. Similar to what Waid did for Daredevil, which was a nice break from past (and likely future) runs.

Finished Hellboy: The Island and it was cool to see a bit of history on the universe. I keep getting all of the creature names mixed up in my head but I'm starting to get better with them.

Now that I'm done with the third library edition I can move onto BPRD again. Plague of Frogs 2 is next.

You guys were super helpful the last time I asked for help and I need some help once again.

Where do I start with Carol Danvers? I'm having trouble figuring out what to read. Any help is much appreciated.

No, he went public after 9/11.

I really disliked the storys ive read that are set right after 9/11... I see what Marvel was trying to do and maybe it was a good idea from an american perspective, but for me these books are way to patriotic and I always had the feeling that they tried to hard...

Sorry for the sliiiightly off-topic post, but:

I made a new comic book! It's a silly, all-ages comic about a girl called Rose who loves her family, food, her friends, food, animals or all types, food and did I mention food? The stories in this comic are about the trouble she gets into trying to get all these things. I'm shipping copies off to the smart comic shops that have asked for copies this week, and it's going to be available online next week.

BUT - and this is my question for you guys - where are good places to send review copies of this to? My background is in video game PR, and the world of comic book PR is kind of new to me :)

Thanks!

Bought Soul Calibur 2 HD Online during the EVO fighting game sale on PSN. Beat Weapon Master mode and finally went to go body fools with my sick Nightmare tech.

No one online.

Welp, time to go read Fables.

This is funny because the rumor floating around has Waid as the writer.

Waid mellowing out Natasha like he did Matt would be amazing

Well I never thought that Sandman 54 was going to star Prez Rickard. That just makes me wonder what other obscure DC characters have been the stars of this arc.

Also I want Thors to be an ongoing. It's too good to be a mini.

Hey everyone new comic book reader here. So far I've just been reading on Marvel Unlimited but I want to get into some DC stuff and I want to start reading physical books. I decided to buy Batwoman Vol 1-4 in SC. I saw that Volume 1 and 4's HC editions have 16 more pages. Can someone tell me why that is? Is it just extra content like art?

You know this Guardians Team Up issue would have been a lot better if it didn't have groot looking like his stupid-post-black-vortex self.

To the people who use Marvel Unlimited...

Do they have comics in Spanish on the service? I am a Spanish teacher and would love to incorporate them in my lesson if they do.

Art and/or "director commentaries"/Forewords.

You guys have some awesome collections. Enjoyed looking through them. Problem is you look through and think 'Oh, I've been meaning to read that and that. That too.' Having six weeks off before I start Uni again and a lot more time for reading is not a good combination for my wallet.

Finished the first volume of Simone's Red Sonja. How great is that book, eh?

2nd arc is better than the first, imo. So you're in for a treat if you enjoyed the first and continue on. Probably the best of the three she did. I went in blind to the series and enjoyed my time with it.

Full werewolf off the buckle
Almost entirely done with Hawkeye (The ones available on Unlimited, anyways. I'll probably buy the last issue rather than wait). I've gone ahead and added Doctor Strange "The Oath" into my offline queue since it's only five issues.

I just finished issue twelve of Hawkeye
The pizza dog issue. Man, it shocked the hell out of me what's happened to Grills!
. What a great run.

You answered your own question here. You're not the intended audience for the book. Also, claiming that something is too patriotic after 3000 people lost their lives and a nation (including fans) were trying to cope is a bit insensitive and selfish.

9/11 influenced and changed American culture and kicked off a new era in pop culture. Are these changes for better or worse? I'd say it can be argued either way. Just know that the changes weren't some malicious misrepresentation of your characters. It was where the creator's heads were at during that period.

A "We against Them" story doent help even in this situation.

Once again, I explained why it happened. Helping or not helping is not particularly up to you because you've firmly established that you have no horse in this race. If you didn't get it then you sure won't get it now.

All of these story beats have since cooled down, and that's because for all intents creators have found a sense of normalcy in these past 14 years after.

9/11 stories too patriotic. Southern Bastards too southern.

Why will no one make comics for GAMEPROFF, god dammit?
