Personally the only remasters I'm interested in is Demon's Souls and Dragon's Dogma otherwise

I think Demons Souls should be on Sonys plan for remasters, Dark Souls 1 will be available for Xbox one in the Backward program, so its only right for Sony to have Demons Soul in PS4, just in time for Dark Souls 3.... DO IT SONY!

If that happens, I can put away my PS3

For one they couldn't get the framerate to a steady 60fps on either platform. Most of all though they didn't fix certain effects. Rain is completely missing both in-game and during cutscenes.

the rain is not missing at all, it rained whilst i was fighting the end

We know the PS4 remaster is happening since the Korean ratings boarded had a posting for it. I'm guessing it'll be announced at TGS alongside the sequel.

Speaking of GR, Toyama and Naoko Sato (GR's story/scenario/event designer) did a livestream yesterday for Siren

Yeah, I think Demon's Souls is for sure going to happen. It's the only remaster at this point that I would buy on day one. As for more remasters in general? I always will prefer new exclusives, but I really don't mind and have of course been buying them here and there on both systems.

Demon's Souls HD Remaster with Northern Limit available (6th Archstone) would be nice.

Although it pains me to see Vita lose one of their best exclusives. I would love to see Gravity Rush in HD.

I like remasters personally, but to play devils advocate, for people saying outside contractors are used for these and not wastinf an internal devs time, a budget is made for this, which could be appropriated for other things. There isnt an infinite budget.

At this point Vita exclusives are worthless. Let everyone experience the glory of Gravity Rush.

Demon's Souls is the only game from Sony that I would want remastered. If it has 1080p/60fps and improved textures/lightning/shadows.

Fun fact: ps3 remasters in no way affect ps4 games. At all. Third party studios are hired to come in and work on these games while the first party studios continue to work on their games.

The more you know.

Fun fact: developers only have so much in the budget for development so when you pay a third party money goes to them instead of in house development. So less development work on new games. Also because they make so much *profit* on just putting out the same stuff over and over by porting they are less willing to take risks. And why bother if they can pay their bills doing easier stuff, I don't blame them.

I would never say they "fucked up" MGS3 like that other poster did. MGS3 HD is one of the best remasters and Bluepoint is arguably the best remaster dev.

But for the record, MGS3 HD is missing Snake v.s. Monkey and the Nightmare minigame.

Also the framerate is much improved but still falters in certain areas. Also applies to MGS2.

It is also missing secret theater in MGS3. And if you are playing on Xbox 360 you don't get pressure sensitive controls.

This is sort of pathetic.

I have nothing against them remastering PS3 games but when you consider the drought of actual PS4 exclusives at the moment this is a bit stupid.

Too many owners switched console families this gen for Sony not to go after that market. And like everyone said, remasters existing in no way impacts new exclusives.

Of course they affect PS4 games.

Hence the waiting.

Wow, a lot of you guys seem excited for these games! Let me let you in on a really big secret.

Go turn on your PS3.
You can play these right now! No waiting! You can probably buy them super cheap!

I know, right? The PS4 is so awesome the games are out years before they're released!

I feel sorry for anyone bothered by this. I only feel indifference towards remasters I care nothing about, and excitement towards ones that I want. I really want an Infamous 1/2 remaster pretty bad.

Good. Grant me Demon's Souls at 1080/60.

I need LOD improvements too. It would be glorious.

That rain isn't missing, it's harder to see due to the increased resolution.

In any case, 'fucked up' is still a completely incorrect assessment for their work on MGS3. And ZOE... Lmao

It is missing since you can't see it. It's extremely hard to see it. They could have adjusted the rain. Something else besides the resolution is going on in this case. If you emulate MGS3 for PS2 and increase the resolution well beyond 1080p the rain is still 100x more visible than the PS3 port.
