P-girl and O-boy commence in fighting while Watashi cynically comment's. So P-girl and O-boy were originally probes that upgraded and explored space, but came back to Earth because of homesickness. I loved how Watashi sacrificed her hair so Pioneer and Voyager could stay on Earth.

The faries were enjoyable to watch in this episode. Good episode.

For those of you complaining about the monster of the week set it, it looks like we're finally past that point and have moved into the first major story arc of the series. Things seem to be getting raw and escalating quickly should lead to some awesome action if manga readers are to be believed.

I've had this one stashed on my Crunchy queue since I first watched 5 CM and I must say, I think I really enjoyed this one more than those short stories. This anime is a movie broken up into 4 "episodes" of different lenghts, but they flow together just fine with auto-play mode that Crunchy offers. To say it mildly, this author has an amazing sense of art when it comes to color, lighting and imagry. The gifs above do not give the anime justice as to just how well the scenes are framed and the coloring used; is beautiful artwork. Now, in regards to the story, it's not as sad as 5CM left you feeling as times, but there is a sense of depair in the background that you can't shake that easily; I guess he likes these types of dramatic stories about love. There are some loopholes in the story that I got lost in at times and some added elements that I felt detracked from the story, but the execution leading up to the ending was amazing and it was beautiful to watch. I'm very glad I spend the afternoon watching this dispite the sometimes confusing and convoluted story.

Fucking A+ episode. This show has completely recovered from it's shaky start. I really hope we get a S2 now, although it would have to be 2cour, the second arc is over twice as long and not even done yet.

Looking back, the various Hana encounters and the crazy escalation of them is probably the best long running joke in this series. HanaKanaHana is the greatest casting of our generation.

Yes, Makoto Shinkai, the man behind the story and a ton of other things likes to use heavy melancholic senses in his stories. Don't know if you're aware, but he also did work on ef: A Tale of Memories and Melodies, and a ton of other stuff too, it's his "thing" really.

edit: so apparently 39 epsidoes and 33 volumes. Roughly 1.1-1.2 volumes per episode assuming they don't skip any unnecessary arcs.

Wow that was pretty scary though hilarious. Caramel + Monochrome and Ru-sensei are all perfect.

Miss monochrome is one of my favorite recent things. Short but very sweet. Adorable little show about an android idol. I wish more would watch it!

FLowers of Evil is quite fascinating. for one thing, its shot in a rotoscoped format, which captures movement very well, at the expense of some detail. It will look very strange until you get used to it. Its also not a happy show as the name would imply. Theres a lot of psychological aspects to it, with various people getting uhgely embrarassed or angry or shamed. It might be a bit uncomfortable to watch.

Man, that G7 mascot thread from yesterday was basically "fucken gross anime fans" the thread. Feels bad, man.

Meanwhile there are lots of sports teams with utterly embarrassing mascots. Lots of mascots arent well liked. It happens. They need to get over it.

Wise decision, imo. It's a miracle that this even got an anime in the first place. Better wrap everything up in one go. And so far, they are doing a pretty damn good job.

The episode itself was typical Soma, read: hilarious, entertaining and intense. Lot's of character introductions for the upcoming arc and it's hilarious how the polar dorm crew reacts to Soma being all casual with Alice, Kurokiba, Nikumi and the Aldinis.

Hey, I think Soma was born on the same day as me. Maybe the anime just made that up because I don't remember it in the manga but it says 2/19 on his profile the Elite 10 had.

At this point, I think we've got all of the main cast going forward...minus one. Spices seem like one of the hardest culinary areas to master since there are so many of them and they can be mixed and combined so many different ways. Good curry is pretty much the greatest thing ever

That's funny how you think it's try-hard cute, because she actually is... trying hard to be cute. Ruby, the kaleid wand is telling her she already knows how to use the weapon, but she doesn't understand what the weapon is. Ruby keeps telling Illya to smile and twirl, 3 times she tries, but she's not really putting an effort, until the gif scene comes up... super cute moment though, her smile is the best weapon! <3

I have not, but because you took the time to even bring it to my attention, I too, will attempt to watch this. Only "mecha" I've seen is Eureka 7, and I think that's more romance and teen angst than mecha. Thanks Nintendoman, you're awesome!
