Well since they have 2 different names and how they did the paradise version I don't think we have too much to worry about. The fact that the ps4 version is not chained to any last gen is pretty good. Hopefully at TGS and maybe PSX we'll get to see more.

They managed to port DOA5 to Vita and I don't really expect this to be much more advanced than that.

That engine can be scaled up if they wish. It's really ps4 version being chained to what budget they see fit.

I think the xbox text is perhaps famtsu asking how well it did on the xbox family.

That's why i said with no changes from DOA5

If they are going to upgrade the engine significantly to really make it look like a current gen game, they are probably going to wait until DOA6 or NG4, not a game like this

Game like this is probably a refresher for the team to solidify tehcniques into their next game and to make a new dlc platform. It's why I ain't mad about it not looking significantly better. It won't have the same ram issue doa5 had and it should have some hints about their next game.

Well the PS4 version has an upgraded version of the soft engine, which they are calling soft engine 2.0, while the Vita version has soft engine lite. So it's at least different in that regard.

It's just mentioning DOA5 on the PS4 and Xbox One.
He did say that core fighters had reached 3.5 million downloads, which I thought was interesting.
Not many people must play it though because I can never find a match.

You have to pay for DLC character themes as a way of "voting" for which 9 characters get to be included in DOAX3. Pretty scummy and new low for Hayashi.

9 for DOAX2 I think. But that was because there were only 9 female characters in DOA at the time. Now there is 15 girls and we only get 9 from those 15.

I'm not saying there won't be rereleases of the game with more characters, but if he literally says he won't add the other characters as DLC because then the vote would be pointless, then I'm going to believe that at the very least in this version of DOAX3 there will only be 9 girls.

Unless the translation I read was wrong they specified not as DLC. That is why I listed other names. If this game makes money for them they aren't stopping at 9. They'll put out 3/4 versions of the game just like DOA5, each with more characters.

Each character theme purchased is counted as 1 vote. PS4 and Vita versions are counted separately, i.e. if you've bought Helena's theme for both PS4 and Vita, you've contributed 2 votes.

Voting period - Japan : August 20 ~ September 7, Asia (excluding Japan) : August 20 ~ August 30.

Results will be announced during TGS 2015.

Eh initial roster will be everyone sans Helena, Lisa, Christie, Mila, Rachel, and Tina for sure. This is dumb. From Asian version exclusive shit, to a watered down Vita version hogging resources, to small initial roster voted on by theme purchases. They're hitting all the wrong notes and that's very unlike Team Ninja.
