best seen in the classic "Shadow of the Beast"
Is there an easy way to get money/medals in chapter 2? I wasted a ton trying to get achilles 2 parts

Was checkin' 'em out on Amazon. Surprised they're actually pretty affordable.

Hooooo boy, have I got some things to say about the model kits. First off, I do enjoy building them and they're pretty easy to make. They're like HG Gundam models in terms of difficulty so they yeah, easy.
And Amazon does have a good selection to choose from and most are affordable though the sellers are in Japan so it may take awhile for them to get to you since you are importing. They did bring some models over to the States and they're distributed by SpruKits but I wouldn't suggest them since they don't have the amazing boxart the japanese ones have.
Now there are some models that are more expensive than others depending what they are. The Hyper Function line is one example since they're more accurate and have a a inner frame like a RG or MG gundam models. And then you have ones that are I presume rare or more demanded like this one.

This one is from the second show and game that the MC uses as his final model. Cool as all hell but it's expensive, I payed $89 for this one and that's not including shipping but damn it I really wanted it.

It was worth it.

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
I got those claw weapons now that double as guns...I think the one I got is called the Gill Grapplers?

Awesome as hell. I noticed if I run at a right angle and tap the fire button, I can shoot while running.

I haven't touched the Party Members' LBX at all so far...should I? The default ones seem good enough.

If you want to get a feel how they're LBX play then go ahead, they're all fun. I switch to them when I need them to catch up to Van's level.

So my US 3DS is charging so I decided to play LBW 2 (Danball Senki W) on my Japanese 3DS. Now since I actually played that one first I never really appreciated how much it improves from the first game. The battle system has been tweaked. Dual wielding has a new moveset and you can equip different weapons of the same kind (like you can equip two different swords unlike the first game where you only dual wield the same swords). You can recover in midair if you're knocked back. The UI is sleeker.
Speaking of UI the menus have improved making customization a breeze. And the menus are faster and snappier. You can actually switch your LBX to other party members!

Now I'm not saying to people curious about getting into this series to wait for the second since the first is an excellent game in and of itself. But if we do get the sequel (I hope we do) it'll be worth it.

Dont really see why you are telling folks this as the standard GAF reaction is for people to just sit around like idiots and "expect" the second game to come out instead of buying the first one. lol

Well if they want the sequel than this game has to sell well and for that to happen people have to jump into this game.

And I still suggest it will sell well, just not to the GAF crowd.

I hope so, cause this game is really good. Much better than I was anticipating. I was excited for the potential release for this game back when the anime was announced to be airing here, and it was pretty worth it, if I do say so myself. This has been scratching my "robot fighting game" itch very well.

Now I really hope this game sells well, despite the somewhat lackluster promotion from NOA--I really want a domestic release of W and Wars now, heh-heh! I've seen some videos on W, and it looks like even more fun! IIRC, from what I heard, W and Wars has online battles, right? Can you confirm this? Not really sure since the Danball Senki Wiki is rather inconsistent with the terminology of what is "online" and "local ad-hoc". Either way, fingers crossed--hopefully if the sales are well enough, the localization period for W won't be as long. Come on L5IA/NOA!

Also, glad to hear The Ocean Group record the dialog for a game again. It's been since, when, 2006 since they recorded for a game? Either way, it's nice to hear some familiar voices as well as some new ones! Only downside to the VO is the fact that NOA/L5IA pulled an NISA and didn't dub most of the story dialogue that was in text boxes you had to advance through. It doesn't break the game for me, just a mild annoyance, is all--besides, better to read in a language I can understand than to listen to a language that I can't!

And there's a new review up by Gamespot!
7/10

Well, my copy arrived a day early, and I'm ready to get my LBX on!

EDIT: Instantly recognize Michael Ironside as the dude with the long, red hair. Dig the combat so far. Love the sound effects.

What the what? I welcome information about the sequel - it's good to know that this series which I'm investing in does in fact see marked improvements from release to release.

And some of those toys look dope as all hell - I might have to invest in one.

Eh, not as bad as people I've met IRL who pirate a game - soon after it came out, too - and then later on bitch that the game didn't get a sequel or that its sequel didn't get localized or whatever.

Sorry, but no. If you want to bitch about the game not getting a (localized) sequel then you need to buy the game first.

Very impressed by the presentation so far. And surprisingly, it's instantly much more interesting and engaging for me than Fantasy Life was. Silly storytelling for sure, but really fun all the same.

As an aside, the combat actually has a sort of Demon's Souls feel to it simply because of the tension meter. I find myself using a similar play style for close combat -- guard, attack, guard attack, watching the meter constantly -- though everything moves much faster.

So everybody is loving this game?

I am torn and on the fence. I owned both Custom Robo games (GameCube and DS) and enjoyed them for the battle (didn't like the Pokemon walk around story part). I really liked the latest Monster Hunter but don't have the time to invest in that to get uber great and none of my friends have a 3DS.

So, is the combat enough to engage me, even if I solo? I take it there isn't just a fight, fight, fight portion?

There are dungeons! Guess I wasn't sure what to expect with this game, but that's pretty cool.

So, question: I see that your weapons seems to level up. I found a sword in the first dungeon and switched over to it. I'm wondering, is it the actual weapon that levels up -- each individual one -- or is it more of your ability with that type of weapon that levels up? And what effect does leveling up either the weapon or weapon skill have. since your character and LBX parts also level up. Tons of leveling up in this game. :p

You level up the ability of that type of weapon. The actual weapon itself does not level up. You want to do that since you get Sp. Attack Routines for that weapon.

Yeah the general consensus here and everywhere that I'm aware of is that the game is fantastic and surprising people.
And yes, this game has a lot of story and quests. And it's a pretty good story that can get rather dark for what it is. If you just want to fight there's a ton of NPCs to fight in most of the areas and they can all be rematched. No I'm not sure but I think you can make COM players (bots) in the wireless mode. Also in wireless battles, you can increase your rank which gets you cool stuff to buy in the wireless shop.
The battles themselves imo are fun and rather flexible, if a tad stiff but you get use to that. The amount of stuff you customize is insane and blows CustomRobo out of the water in that regard.

Woah. Story just picked up.

Also, I thought just changing weapons and parts was all there was to customization.

BOY WAS I WRONG. game got deep all of a sudden.

Maybe I'm underestimating kids these days, but this game seems a bit more complicated than just something for them to pick up easily. The tutorials list alone is massive and it only keeps growing larger with each chapter in the game. Plus the plot? I mean, saving the president from being murdered? That was just at the beginning too lol.

I see. Thanks. What about with your LBX. Do both the armor and the actual LBX level up, or just the armor, and does leveling up the armor increase defense, or does it also increase weapon damage?

Also, is there a way to set the guns as the default weapon at the beginning of battles? It doesn't seem to make sense that the melee weapons are always the default at the beginning of battles, since you're always starting battles far apart from your opponent(s).

Its like the amount of HP the parts have I do believe?

De-equip your stuff, then put your gun in Set A.

Maybe it's the hundred of hours I put into Gotcha Force but it really feels like the game is clunky and stiff. You can't cancel attacks into dashes and every attack seems to have long ending lag. Maybe I'm just terrible at this haha.

Armor parts have LP and defense. The parts themselves gain exp which increases their AC which in turn increases their LP and defense.

I believe that just increases overall attack and defense, not sure. It also increases the custom core board in size.

Ah. There were so many tutorial emails, I've only been doing about three or so each time I play. So much to sift through. Definitely never fails to impress me what younger audiences can not only grasp but master in games.

As aside, I'm really enjoying the story. It's very comic-booky, Saturday-morning cartoon, but it's really well written. I really needed a game like this right now.

I listened the Tiny Cart's podcast describe this as Persona + Virtual On and the money slipped straight out of my wallet and flew right into GameStop.

I'm liking it so far lots but why on earth is there no online multiplayer!?

I don't see a lot of persona in this game, mainly how exploration outside of dungeons work.

New password!

Also when you beat the game you'll get another password but it's different for each cart so no point in sharing!

There's a vibe to it, though, as far as the overworld exploration goes, with the school, arcade, etc. There's so many cool places to explore. Kinda has a Battle Network feel to it as well.

Me either it's more like BattleNetwork which is fantastic.

WOW. Earlier I was thinking about posting how I felt like this game was pretty much an action based Megaman BN. Just everything about it gives me the feeling of BN. All it needs is the bots being able to talk and stuff. Surprised someone else was thinking the same thing.

. I wonder if you can actually get those parts.
EDIT: You actually do. Sweet!

Okay, this just became more like Battle Network.
You actually turn your LBX into data to go into the Net.
This game is amazing!
