Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Comes to PC This January

Dear fellow Arisens -

Tons of folks asked whether the upcoming PC port will have a capped frame rate. With DDDA being an MT Framework-based game, you can rest assured it'll have the usual graphics options found in other Capcom PC titles.

Stay tuned as we'll have more details to share regarding tech specs and features in the coming weeks/months.

Praise the bacon!

How about DS4 support? No? I guess I won't be buying then :p. Seems like a game I'd rather have character movement on analogue stick.

What the hell?

Years after, pc gamer can get their hands on this, while everyone else already done the game and went back to mh4u.

But they can now enjoy this though.

This is the equivalent of finally getting the bluray of a film that was only on DVD. What makes you think newcomers will outnumber the people who already played it?

This might honestly be my most anticipated game at this point. From what little I played I loved how unashamedly old-school fantasy this game was. Dragons and wizards and green fields and shit.

I live for that stuff. No gimmicks just good old fashion swords and sorcery.

WASD never sat right with me in 3rd person games for whatever reason. I'm just too used playing with the controller in these types of games.

DS4windows works fine on PC, you should try that. I can't really think of any games on PC that officially support PS3 and PS4 controllers though.

Arkham Knight supports DS4, and I'm pretty sure some Ubisoft titles do too. But as I said before it's about the button prompts too. Maybe someone will mod them in later and I can get this off steam sale or something.

Anyway, why no PS4/XB1 port though?
I'm pretty sure people will double dip on those as well. You know, like the remastered version or something like that. Well, people will even dip due to 1080p and 60fps only.

Yeah this is weird. I'm stoked as hell to play this on PC but the lack of current gen port seems weird. If they are porting to PC the majority of the work for a current gen version is already done

TGS is next week, they could announce it there for PS4, but I doubt it. They already announced the PC version so feels weird if they just kept that information for themselves, but who knows.

So is dark arisen different to the original game?

It's an expansion that is accessible shortly after the start of the main story, but it steeply rises in difficulty, so much so that the mid-to-high level areas in DA are much harder than the end of the main story.

However, it is quite "different" in that the original game is focused on open-world exploration whereas Dark Arisen is contained within a tightly-designed dungeon. Each have their strengths and flaws, which really rounds out the game as a whole.

120 FPS Gamplay here we come. This is going to be as smooth as a bowel movement after eating a jar of chocolate ex-lax candy.

I can finally play this game. Got it for free from Plus, but is unplayable on the PS3. The framerate and image quality are godawful.

I can only hope the port is good and well optimized now. My computer is old but can run PC capcom ports of that era well, just hope they haven't been lazy since

For some reason the opening theme of Evangelion started playing inside my head when I read this.

Thank you.

Haven't even given the ps3 version more than 3 hours of playing in the year that I've had it but I will definitely pick this up for the performance enhancements. Part of the reason I didn't do much on the ps3 version was due to performance.

Has this been the case with other Capcom ports? DD is literally going to decide my next monitor purchase, so if it can run at 120 FPS or higher...imma buy a jar of that candy. 4K can wait.

DMC4 can run 300 in the benchmark on my rig, which is mid range ish for 2014

Thanks for all the responses! I have been playing the original on PS3 on and off, fair way into it so maybe I'll finish it on their and play the expansion on PC unless there's some sort of save transfer.

Sigh...I skipped the PS360 gen and this is one of those games I've wanted to play for a while.Wonder what crazy excuse they have for not putting this on next gen consoles.

I expected this, but it's great to have a confirmation anyways.
