Dear fellow Arisens -

Tons of folks asked whether the upcoming PC port will have a capped frame rate. With DDDA being an MT Framework-based game, you can rest assured it'll have the usual graphics options found in other Capcom PC titles.

Stay tuned as we'll have more details to share regarding tech specs and features in the coming weeks/months.

Considering this is primarily a western thing for the franchise. ( PC not being that big in JApan)

Are they testing waters for Dragons Dogma Online Western release? Or could there be a chance for Western localization at TGS.

Ive got this in the PS+ backlog, but have been holding out for a remaster after hearing all the complaints about performance. PS4 port pls Capcom!

This is probably the 20th reference in this thread to modding the theme song. What's the story with that?
The original theme song is so out of place that goes all the way through being awful and comes the other way being amazing.

I don't know, I just found out about this song today and its legitimately amazing, in an 80's anime kind of way. The piano is godly.

Here's the full version from the artist's youtube channel: B'z / Into Free -Dangan- × Dragon's Dogma. Video itself is a highlight reel of the game and might have spoilers.

Contrasting, the theme from Dark Arisen. Just going for a different mood.

I enjoyed the shit out of the PS3 game and that ran at like 15fps with some really bad load times the further into the game you get. It's going to be weird at 1080p and 60fps. One of the best thing in the game is just walking around from day to night, it get's real fucking dark and the ambient sounds go so well.

Oh yes i'm so ready. This is my favorite game of last gen but the technical issues were a bummer. Being able to play it with all those gone... day 1.

Well, I know what I'll be playing in the summer, then.

Higher framerate + texture quality + 1440p + GSYNC. Don't let us down, CAPCOM.

My brain tells me that Into Free is terribad but it is hyping the shit out of me. It reminds me or some awesome cheesy anime music.

This is probably the 20th reference in this thread to modding the theme song. What's the story with that?

From the looks of it, it's another "indestructible" situation, where Capcom had a terrible ass song as the main menu theme, removed it on the re-release, then people with awful taste complained that the terrible music was gone.

I mean I just listened to that Into Free song for the first time and Omega Force would be embarrassed to have that in a Musou game.

Years after, pc gamer can get their hands on this, while everyone else already done the game and went back to mh4u.

But they can now enjoy this though.

You talk as if there are not just as many people waiting and wanting to enjoy the MH series on televisions again with a non handheld engine.

I'm gonna quote myself from the W3 vs. MGSV thread when someone brought up how awesome the combat was in DD. This is from yesterday.

I would have loved to play this game, but I don't think it had a PC release and from the videos I've seen, the performance is a little uneven, which I just can't stand anymore nowadays. And I've heard that the world is pretty bad and a slog to get through. I have heard that the combat is fantastic, and from what I've seen it looks like it's a lot of fun. I love how you can grapple onto an enemy, that's really cool. I wonder if that MMO release that is coming still shares those elements from that game.

and said response.

A pc port is not coming.
Dragon's dogma dark arisen (the GOTY edition with a MASSIVE expansion that is like a dark souls game and really good) improves the performance a lot from the base game.

It still drops into unacceptable levels at a few points in the game (particularly one fight at a fortress with many giant golems) but overall it's no worse than the average xbox 360 console game and holds to 30 fps most of the time unless you use magic AND have multiple magic pawns (no reason to do this)

I'm a stickler for performance and god do I wish there was a pc version I would get it in a heartbeat, but this is one of those very rare games that is so good that it's worth dealing with console performance/image quality in absence of a proper pc version.
It's similar to how people put up with the bullshit demon souls/dark souls performance on consoles (and dark arisen is not as bad as dark souls performance wise)

This is actually one of the few games that is worthy of a 'remaster' on new gen consoles. It was doing so much (the weather, the insane spell effects and physics, the day and night cycle) all in an open world and it was too ambitious for the pityful last gen console hardware. A remaster on the new consoles would be useful.

Glad you were wrong SneakyStephan. Now I can see what the fuss is about.

Pretty odd that they didn't announce a PS4/XB1 version. Surely they'd announce them all together if they existed? : (

Anyway, with this announcement and the fact that Dragon's Dogma Online seems to be off to a good start in Japan - I hope this will all eventually lead to a Dragon's Dogma 2. Just the thought of it is....is....I....I need to sit down.
