STEAM | September 2015 - The Phantom Pre-Load or: AAA Movies Are Just +1s To Us

Can someone explain this to me? There was a thread about a similar incident a few weeks ago where the user had SteamGuard enabled yet still had an account compromised.

I thought that password reset vulnerability was patched months ago, so what else would it be? Would have expected using SteamGuard and a decent password on both email and Steam would be enough.
Idk but id be so god damn mad if my acc got hacked, i dont dl shady shit + even if i didnt dl anything i run lke 3 diff programs to check for anything

I don't get it either. My steam guard was on, my password is "Strong" (doesn't contain my usarname or anything) and so is my e-mail password. It still got stolen. I don't even.

But this is it. I'm getting a 2 step auth

Isn't Steam's 2 factor authentication Steam Guard itself, which sends a code via email when it detects unauthorized access?

Which you mentioned you had enabled already.

Well, they obviously got into my e-mail. I'm putting it on my phone now.

By the way, what's a good anti-malware software?

So it the email was compromised, presumably. What a bummer. Just trying to get a clear picture of what may have happened so it's not a vague threat for others.

Good preventative security practices are better as there's no foolproof silver bullet. I just use Defender (Windows 8 version which is MSE afaik), NoScript on Firefox and EMET to drop privileges since the majority of malware comes through browser exploits and plugin vulnerabilities. It's not for everyone though.

Yeah, I'm just really frustrated. I study and work all week, now I can't even game on the weekend. This shit sucks so much.

At least I still have my Origin account. Gonna play some BF4 while I wait.

EDIT: Ok, this is the weirdest shit. Now the Hijacker is chatting with my best friend. He said he stole the account because he was bored. I don't even

Bit drunk right now and bought Goat Simulator in the daily sale. May be me being drunk right now but does the game generally run like shit or is it pretty smooth? I am playing on a 960M laptop. Acer V15. 8gb ram i7 blah blah blah etc. Completely possible it is just me being drunk but it seems pretty choppy. Will test again in a few hours when sober. Do not drink and Steam buy. Gotta remove my billing info off my account.

Refund function is your friend.

I haven't got Shadowplay installed at the moment so I don't if they moved it, but it at least used to be just a checkbox under the monitor picture.
On that, since the new version of Geforce Experience the option to enable "desktop capture" is gone. And I cannot find it anymore. I captured footage of my desktop very often so this blows heavily :(
Anyone know where to enable it again?

Apparently Desktop capture is now always on.

Or not

Thanks for your feedback. Desktop Capture requires a game to be running to successfully start shadow recording. We have received many suggestions and are looking into it.
Some applications may not be running in actual fullscreen (or go into windowed fullscreen when tabbed out and back in), and therefore may minimise when Share overlay is triggered, we are aware of this limitation and are working on it. We will also look into the issue of the notification slider being captured during desktop capture. Glad you liked the gallery, trim and Upload features, please let us know any other issues or suggestions you might have. Thanks!

So I've realized that no matter how much AA I apply or how much I downsample, I can't get rid of aliasing because of my monitor. I have a 1080p Acer, (keep in mind that I don't know a ton about monitors, so I'm not sure the technical reason for thi) and at its best I still get aliasing because of the size of each line of pixels. If I upgrade to a 1440p monitor, should I not have this issue anymore?

I started Suikoden 1 and...man, this is boring like hell. I'm two hours in and I'm totally uninterested toward the plot. I hope the game will turn better soon.

I tried Suikoden 3 and it was boring too, maybe it just starts slow but I never got back to it

I read Suikoden 2 is a must, but I want to beat the first one before doing that. I read on HLTB the game is around 25 hours long, but I checked a guide and...well, it was depressive because the guide is HUGE and I'm still in the very beginning of the game, so I doubt it's only 25 hours long :S
I also bought Suikoden 3, nice to know that's boring too, lol.

Suikoden 3 is boring (and stays boring) because of all the retreading/backtracking you have to do thanks to the 3 main characters stuff. It had a dope Opening though and some nice character art and the story wasn't too bad. But it was still boring and the last Suikoden I played.

Bored and I need to get started with a game soon!
Gonna be lazy on Steam all evening and got four options;

Speedrunners: Lets get rid of all that rust and enjoy this lovely competitive game?
Tabletop Simulator: Munchkin time! Other suggestions are welcome too.
1. Dunder
2. MrLuchador
3. Zeknurn
4. iosefe
5. ?
6. ?
Rocket League: Where rainbows shoots out of your butt. 1-1? 4-4? Just give me a shout and we'll see how many we end up being!
SP Suggestion: Love platforming/puzzle/action/adventure/rpg. I'm pretty much a completionist and love to explore and loot. For some reason I've been putting off a lot of games, feels like others need to decide what I should play next.

If you're up for a game, shoot me a message or simply add me on Steam.

Nice to know. I'm asking why I spent money by buying all three of them without reading reviews for.
I guess it's my fault, but I honestly thought they were like masterpiece rps, or at least very good.
For now Suikoden is a game about a random child that will probably become the Chosen One or something like that, tons of random encounter where no skill is required, just push X to attack and usually monsters go down in two turns. I don't know if I should continue to play it :S

To be fair, Suikoden 1 was always the most generic of the bunch. It's the standard "rise of a young hero" plot, and the only thing that really separated it was the recruit mechanic at the time. I don't think it's aged very well at all, but I greatly prefer its battle system to Suikoden 2's. I also greatly prefer its ending to 2.

I've heard that 2 and 5 are the best. I've played 5 and thought it was pretty darn good.

The nice thing about Suikoden 1 is more the optional stuff, like trying to recruit all the characters, building up your base and decorating it how you want, that kind of stuff. Then there were the choices with consequences in shaping events (at least that I can remember in Suikoden 1), even if certain events were unavoidable.

Mind you, Suikoden 3 isn't a bad game, but I did find it boring because of the backtracking. You're going through the same areas 3 times basically since you switch around between 3 main characters and witnessing events from their point of views, sometimes seeing the same event from their different sides, which was interesting story wise, but game-play wise it tends to become somewhat of a chore.
Plus Awesome Opening.

Anyone know if GTA V stutter and popup issues where fixed ?
I haven't bought the game yet but from what I could tell probably since the last patch, if PCG Wiki removed "stuttering issues" from the game's entry, it's probably mostly been resolved.

Why would you look for reviews for games that are 10+ years old lol.
GAF impressions may as count as reviews, and even then the games are well revered for years.
Sad to hear you didn't enjoy the Suikoden games so far, but give it another chance after some time, when you are willing to put a little more time to playing the games and you may end up liking them eventually :)

the scenario at the beginning wasn't that interesting either :( i can't imagine replaying the game with 3 different characters, but the game got a lot of praise back in the day

about sp, I just played some of Divide by sheep, it's not bad, cruel but not bad.
I was thinking, was there ever chicken/fox/boat the game?

Also Chime is nice, it's no Tetris or Lumines, but nice nevertheless.
