The New Xbox One Experience Beta |OT| Beta tested in the future

What's the chance of every preview member getting the update by the time Halo 5 releases? I would guess pretty high odds but I don't want to assume

I decided to opt out after using the NXE for a while. I do like it, I have no issues with the look, but right now I am playing a lot of games and there is just too many little issues affecting game play, like when the screen dims etc. I have previewed every update since the introduction of the program and while I normally would keep testing and reporting issues, my time has been very limited and my work schedule with the holidays is getting more hectic, so the little time I have, I would rather be playing games without issues instead of hoping my games will work properly.

Anyone know how log after you click to opt. out that you get the old dashboard back?

I just got pushed the update in the middle of watching the MLB Wild Card game.

Now that it's finished installing, I do not have sound when I watch TV. Is this a known issue?

I am a big fan of the way they are handling OneGuide now so I grabbed the official usb tv tuner. Due to my entertainment center set up, IR blasting to my Homeworx box was not working out for me.

Im going to have to get used to opening onw guide instead of looking for the tv app. Lol.

Wish they showed netflix in with the other apps. Also was interesting when you view details on a show at a later time via live tv They give you the option to purchase the series. Lol

If I opt out, do I need to format the hard drive? I mean, will I lose all my downloaded content?

Also, if I opt out, will I still be kept at the usual preview program?

I'll stay using the new OS but keeping an eye at what's going on. Some bugs that I'm hearing actually worries me quite a bit.

My system was updated earlier today. My god, it is so much better than the original UI. Great job Microsoft. I'm still learning where everything is, but it's infinitely better. It could still be faster, but it's early.

Its a little buggy still but it has great potential. It is still a bit slow though. Hopefully they tighten that up.

But normal sound wasn't isn't an issue correct? I submitted it through the "Report a Problem" tool on the console.

I don't believe it was, but I'm just going by memory from the list of issues they listed. I don't have my tv run through my XB1 so I haven't been able to test anything on my end.

Nah, I've been watching tv daily since the update and haven't had that issue. Have you tried the standard 'Hard Reset'?

Maybe check settings and see if the update didn't switch the output to optical or something weird.

So with the old dash, and with the old Xbox One Smartglass app I was able to type on my computer when the Xbox gave a virtual keyboard prompt. It doesn't seem to work in the old app on the new dash, and the new Xbox app built in to Windows 10 doesn't seem to have that feature at all. I've made sure to connect to my console in both apps, but I get no keyboard.

I kind of want to report some issues but I'm not going to hunt and peck like a 7 year old.

MAn everything has become pretty unresponsive. 10-15 seconds will go by and I wont have any control over my xbox. Nothing happens when I press xbox button or any other button. Then it will be fine for a bit, and then happen again.

Anyone have experienced issues with the media player? It's extremely laggy for me. Is this is a known issue?

it's a bit slow for me. a few seconds more every time I get to a new folder. seeking in a video sometimes freezes but works eventually. as for playing actual videos from start to finish, they play fine.

do I seriously have to scroll all the way when I want to snap something?

yeah they need a button shortcut for snapping and switching between the two.

Still think the old horizontal recent apps and games list is better than the vertical one in this UI.

found out you can use the triggers at the dash to get to your pins instantly. doing this on the sidebar leaves you on settings which is one above snap

still, I agree. double tap -> right trigger -> one down -> snap is too much

I vastly prefer the vertical positioning, as it allows them to display info for the games. I agree that they should have a controller shortcut for unsnapping and switching. I just got a Kinect recently, so I have just been using voice commands, which is super snappy, but I can see where it is a bit more clunky for people with controllers. I think the commands for screens and capture should have more presence as well. I would put those commands on the bottom, and make the button prompts colored.

As for a snapping shortcut, does the view button do anything when the dashboard is up? If not they could make that the shortcut button. You could hold view with the dashboard open to snap or unsnap, and quick press the button to switch screen control. It could also close the dashboard automatically when you unsnap or switch screens.

Weird, everything but playing videos works OK. Video stutters terrible, audio gets repeated several times. I guess I'll send some feedback then.

Anyone not in yet don't sweat it. Your not missing a ton yet.

I've tested every dash on Xbox as a brand and this one is the buggiest by far at the moment. I'm sure they will get it sorted and I keep submitting reports. I have never had a update shut a system down, today playing destiny the system just shut off not sleep completely OFF.

Hopefully they get this sorted there are posted about it all over the preview forums.

Also it still feels sluggish. It stutters a lot.

I have faith they will sort it out but unless your ok with some real quirky stuff don't be in a rush to grab this update right now.

Is it just me or are Kinect gestures not supported in the dashboard any more ? I hope they're coming in an update, I like the "grab to home" gesture, and navigating oneguide without a controller is better with gestures than voice.

I suggested double tapping the view button to bring up snapcenter like in the old UI.
