Yoshi's Woolly World |OT| It's So Fluffy I'm Gonna Die!

My pre order for the bundle got delayed in shipping(Stupid downpour yesterday here in the high desert) so UPS delayed the shipment, ordered it from best buy hope it arrives on monday along with my pink and blue yoshi

Picked up the bundle, and blue and pink Yoshis today, but argh! I'm at my parents house for the weekend, and I forgot to bring home my Wii U from college >_<

Have 100 %'d a few levels so far and enjoying it quite a bit. The graphics and music are very nice. I love not having to rescue a crying Baby Mario :p

I just played through the last regular level to bring up the credits, just to realize that this was probably the last Wii U game where Saturo Iwata will be listed as Excecutive Producer.

This game came out 3 months ago when all was still well. Chibi Robo still has him listed. Xenoblade X will have him listed, Mario & Luigi Paper Jam will have him listed. Star Fox will probably even still have him listed I bet.

It's so great to come back to this thread months later and see people finally able to pick up and play the game

I'm less impressed with the fussiness of spotting and collecting the Miiverse stamp fragments, but thankfully, that's the least consequential unlockable apart from completing stages at full health. I can already see that I'm likely to take the other two collectibles to 100%, if I can.
The distance you have to be is slightly less than you'd think which means you miss a lot of them yes. It's one of the game's major flaws but easy enough to fix if you don't mind cheating by using the medal the second time through the level (which is what I did and the game still took me a while to 100%)

Just ordered the bundle from Best Buy (48$ with GCU, and I used 45$ in rewards :) ). It should arrive Monday or Tuesday, which is great cause I should be done with Metal Gear Solid 1 by then. Seriously can't wait to play, looks amazing and positive player reviews are always encouraging.

The Green Yoshi Amiibo is so damn cute. I love the feel !

Bigger than I thought. Can't imagine how big the Mega one is.
Starting game on classic mode.

Picked up the game with a green and a pink yoshi. Now, to find the blue.

Playing the game lulls you into a false sense of calm with that mellow as hell music.

Having finished the first world, bonus level not included, the only item I'm having trouble collecting is the miiverse stamp medals. There's one in 1-4 I can't find for the life of me.

Also, are the bonus games the same two throughout the game. They really feel like an afterthought.

The fruit collecting thing? they have a few more switch ups the further you advance in the game making use of stage gimmicks you wouldn't have encountered yet so it's not too bad.

My daughter is back to playing the game by herself after we tried a couple of levels co-op - it just doesn't quite work somehow. You can intrude on the other player's movement too easily, by jumping on their head, swallowing them, pushing them, blocking their yarn shots. Most of it isn't always intentional, but it's too easy to get in the other person's way, especially when trying to collect stuff.

The game is also very unforgiving before it bubbles you (well, flying yarn egg), doesn't seem to take much more than just going off the side of the screen before you're done.

It seems to be a relatively inoffensive game otherwise. It's nice. And that's not a complete compliment, as it does nothing to blow me away either. But it is adorable.

Yeah, they feel super tacked on. I'm only halfway through world 1 and I'm already trying to avoid them, which is unfortunate. It's the only real negative thing I can say about the game though. Yoshi's Island finally has a worthy sequel after 20 years and it's pretty damn awesome

Haha, the saddle on Doctor Mario is a pill, that's clever. Olimar also has Pikmin as his spikes.

Pleasantly surprised with this game. Yoshi games have a tendency to be... mediocre, but this one is great.

I feel the exact same way about the co-op

Will QA for food.
Enjoying it so far. I've had to scan my Amiibo in 3 or 4 at a time though, because after a bunch it throws a "can't connect to Game Pad error" so I navigate back to Wii U menu (lol, yes with my perfectly working Game Pad) and boot the game up again.

Played through the first world. Loving this so far! I didn't 100% it, I'll probably do that tomorrow.

On an unfun technical note, I was having problems where in some stages everything would freeze evey 15 seconds or so. I cleaned the disc, so hopefully I've seen the last of it. If not, I'll have to take it back and exchange it.

I ended up getting the Pink Yarn Yoshi amiibo because I can't help myself. It's sooooo cute! Missed the blue one. :(

Man.This game's soundtrack. I'm leaving the hub open solely so that music's playing as I do other things. I NEED this soundtrack and desperately wish videogame OSTs are a prize in Nintendo's new account system.

The game has been an absolute delight so far. 100% the first level in one go, man does it Feel G...reat!

About to boot this up for the first time. Will post impressions later. Can't wait to read the thread :). Been waiting for this game since it was first announced over two and a half years ago.

Just finished watching the Giant Bomb QL, and my god, I can't believe how good this game looks. The words that come to mind are: welcoming, stress-free, engaging, clever, and gorgeous. Such a pleasant surprise.

Also, the boxart is ridiculously lovely, and if I ever happen to stumble upon the Amiibo, I'm going to buy it.

That will likely be Zelda next year.

At the very least Xenoblade will definitely have it at the end of this year. Star Fox will almost certainly have it also.

I've created a new album for the amiibo skins, as the old one wouldn't let me update it anymore.

http://imgur.com/a/nuEIv

This includes everything, as far as I can tell, 51 skins. The latest waves are in there, as is Falco. Mewtwo will, of course, do nothing. Only time will tell if Lucas, Roy, and Ryu will do anything.

that awesome Little Mac Yoshi!!

Having conquered 2-4 I must say I really enjoy the occasional perspective changes throughout this game. Made the boss a bit more interesting for the shell attack.

Played through 2-4 and enjoying it a lot. Yoshi feels really great to control and the art style speaks for itself.

I also didn't expect the collectibles in this game to be that hard to find. I've only got gold stars on a few stages because I constantly miss just one flower or one yarn. A few have been also from getting hit near the end of the stage, but mostly it's me missing a collectible. I didn't expect this coming off most Nintendo platformers where I get 90% of the collectibles on my first run. I'm having to throw yarn balls everywhere to find secret clouds or hidden areas.

The Yarn Yoshi amiibo itself is also kind of useless from what I've tried. Having to control both at once is a giant pain and I don't see much of a benefit to it. It's good if you need a yarn ball and your partners the only thing nearby. It also kind of makes the game even easier since a double buttstomp is a screen clearing move I think? Either way, the hassle of managing both isn't worth it.

And Lil Mac da best Yarnshi.

Edit- Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the hub can get chunky framerate wise. Had an instance where the audio became horrible as the framerate took a big hit. It only lasted a second or two, but it sounded like everything wanted to die.

My game keeps freezing every 15 seconds, I don't know what's going on :/

Probably the same bug that was in the NoE version: The Gamepad can't be turned off if you play with the Pro Controller/Wiimote, otherwise you'll get the freeze.
Fix: Put the Gamepad in a charger and don't turn it off while playing with the another controller.
